1 Then Iaakob called his sonnes, and sayde, Gather your selues together, that I may tell you what shall come to you in the last dayes. 2 Gather your selues together, and heare, ye sonnes of Iaakob, and hearken vnto Israel your father. 3 Reuben mine eldest sonne, thou art my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellencie of dignitie, and the excellencie of power: 4 Thou wast light as water: thou shalt not be excellent, because thou wentest vp to thy fathers bed: then diddest thou defile my bed, thy dignitie is gone. 5 Simeon and Leui, brethren in euill, the instruments of crueltie are in their habitations. 6 Into their secret let not my soule come: my glory, be not thou ioyned with their assembly: for in their wrath they slew a man, and in their selfe will they digged downe a wall. 7 Cursed be their wrath, for it was fierce, and their rage, for it was cruell: I will deuide them in Iaakob, and scatter them in Israel. 8 Thou Iudah, thy brethre shall praise thee: thine hande shalbe in the necke of thine enemies: thy fathers sonnes shall bowe downe vnto thee. 9 Iudah, as a Lions whelpe shalt thou come vp from the spoyle, my sonne. He shall lye downe and couche as a Lion, and as a Lionesse: Who shall stirre him vp? 10 The scepter shall not depart from Iudah, nor a Lawegiuer from betweene his feete, vntill Shiloh come, and the people shall be gathered vnto him. 11 He shall binde his Asse foale vnto ye vine, and his Asses colte vnto the best vine. hee shall wash his garment in wine, and his cloke in the blood of grapes. 12 His eyes shalbe red with wine, and his teeth white with milke. 13 Zebulun shall dwell by the sea side, and he shalbe an hauen for shippes: and his border shalbe vnto Zidon. 14 Issachar shalbe a strong asse, couching downe betweene two burdens: 15 And he shall see that rest is good, and that the land is pleasant, and he shall bow his shoulder to beare, and shalbe subiect vnto tribute. 16 Dan shall iudge his people as one of the tribes of Israel. 17 Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder by the path, byting the horse heeles, so that his rider shall fall backward. 18 O Lord, I haue waited for thy saluation. 19 Gad, an hoste of men shall ouercome him, but he shall ouercome at the last. 20 Concerning Asher, his bread shalbe fat, and he shall giue pleasures for a king. 21 Naphtali shalbe a hinde let goe, giuing goodly wordes. 22 Ioseph shalbe a fruitefull bough, euen a fruitful bough by the well side: the small boughs shall runne vpon the wall. 23 And the archers grieued him, and shotte against him and hated him. 24 But his bowe abode strong, and the hands of his armes were strengthened, by the handes of the mighty God of Iaakob, of whom was the feeder appointed, by the stone of Israel, 25 Euen by the God of thy father, who shall helpe thee, and by the almightie, who shall blesse thee with heauenly blessinges from aboue, with blessings of the deepe, that lyeth beneath, with blessings of the brestes, and of the wombe. 26 The blessings of thy father shalbe stronger then the blessings of mine elders: vnto the ende of the hilles of the worlde they shall be on the head of Ioseph, and on the top of the head of him that was separate from his brethren. 27 Beniamin shall rauine as a wolfe: in the morning he shall deuoure the pray, and at night he shall deuide the spoyle. 28 All these are the twelue tribes of Israel, and thus their father spake vnto them, and blessed them: euery one of them blessed hee with a seuerall blessing. 29 And he charged them and sayd vnto them, I am ready to be gathered vnto my people: burie mee with my fathers in the caue, that is in the fielde of Ephron the Hittite, 30 In the caue that is in the field of Machpelah besides Mamre in the land of Canaan: which caue Abraham bought with the fielde of Ephron the Hittite for a possession to burie in. 31 There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife: there they buryed Izhak and Rebekah his wife: and there I buried Leah. 32 The purchase of the fielde and the caue that is therein, was bought of the children of Heth. 33 Thus Iaakob made an end of giuing charge to his sonnes, and plucked vp his feete into the bed and gaue vp the ghost, and was gathered to his people.

1 Tendo Jacó chamado a seus filhos, disse: Ajuntai-vos para que vos anuncie o que vos há de acontecer nos dias vindouros.

2 Ajuntai-vos, e ouvi, filhos de Jacó; Ouvi a Israel, vosso pai.

3 Rúben, tu és meu primogênito, minha força e as primícias do meu vigor, Preeminente em dignidade e preeminente em poder.

4 Fervente como a água, não tenhas a proeminência! Porque subiste ao leito de teu pai; Então o contaminaste: subiu à minha cama!

5 Simeão e Levi são irmãos; As suas espadas são instrumentos de violência.

6 Não entres, minha alma, no seu concílio; Não te ajuntes, minha glória, com a sua assembléia; Porque na sua ira mataram homens, E na sua teimosia jarretaram touros.

7 Maldito seja o seu furor, porque era forte; E maldita seja a sua ira, porque era cruel. Dividi-los-ei em Jacó, E espalhá-los-ei em Israel.

8 Judá, a ti te louvarão teus irmãos; Sobre a cerviz de teus inimigos será a tua mão; Diante de ti se prostrarão os filhos de teu pai.

9 Judá é leãozinho: Da presa subiste, meu filho. Encurva-se, deita-se como um leão, E como uma leoa; quem o despertará?

10 Não se apartará de Judá o cetro, Nem a vara do comando dentre seus pés, Até que venha aquele de quem ela é, E a esse obedecerão os povos.

11 Atando o seu jumentinho à vide, E o filho da sua jumenta à videira seleta, Tem lavado em vinho as suas roupas, E em sangue de uva os seus vestidos.

12 Os seus olhos são vermelhos de vinho, E os seus dentes brancos de leite.

13 Zebulom habitará na praia do mar: Ele será porto de navios, E o seu termo estender-se-á até Sidom.

14 Issacar é jumento ossudo, Deitado entre os rebanhos de ovenhas:

15 Viu que o descanso era bom, E que a terra era agradável; Sujeitou os seus ombros à carga E entregou-se ao serviço forçado de um escravo.

16 Dã julgará o seu povo, Como uma das tribos de Israel.

17 Dã será uma serpente no caminho, Uma cerasta na vereda, Que morde os calcanhares ao cavalo, De maneira que caia para trás o seu cavaleiro.

18 A tua salvação tenho esperado, ó Jeová!

19 Gade, uma guerrilha o acometerá; Mas ele a perseguirá.

20 Aser, o seu pão será gordo, E ele produzirá delícias reais.

21 Naftali é gazela solta: Ele profere belas palavras.

22 José é um ramo frutífero, Ramo frutífero junto à fonte; Seus raminhos se estendem sobre o muro.

23 Os flecheiros têm-no maltratado, Atirado contra ele, e têm-no perseguido:

24 O seu arco, porém, permaneceu firme, E foram feitos ativos os braços de suas mãos Pelas mãos do poderoso de Jacó (Daí o pastor, a pedra de Israel),

25 Sim, pelo Deus de teu pai-que ele te ajude, E pelo Poderoso-que ele te abençoe, Com as bênçãos do céu acima, Com as bênçãos do abismo que jaz abaixo, Com as bênçãos dos peitos e da madre.

26 As bênçãos de teu pai Ultrapassam as bênçãos dos montes eternos, As coisas desejadas dos eternos outeiros, Sejam elas sobre a cabeça de José, E sobre o alto da cabeça daquele que é o príncipe entre seus irmãos.

27 Benjamim é lobo que despedaça: Pela manhã devora a presa, E à tarde reparte o despojo.

28 Todas estas são as doze tribos de Israel e isto é o que lhes disse seu pai quando os abençoou; a cada um segundo a sua bênção os abençoou.

29 Deu-lhes esta ordem, dizendo: Vou ser reunido ao meu povo; sepultai-me com meus pais na cova que está no campo de Efrom heteu,

30 na cova que está no campo de Macpela, em frente de Manré, na terra de Canaã, a qual juntamente com o campo comprou Abraão de Efrom heteu para posse de um lugar de sepultura.

31 Ali sepultaram a Abraão e a Sara, sua mulher; ali sepultaram a Isaque e a Rebeca, sua mulher; e ali sepultei a Lia:

32 o campo é a cova que está nele, comprados aos filhos de Hete.

33 Tendo Jacó acabado de dar estas instruções a seus filhos, encolheu os pés na cama, expirou e foi reunido a seus pais.
