1 Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.54.1 chief…: or, overseer54.1 Maschil: or, of instruction

2 Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.

3 For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah.

4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

5 He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.54.5 mine…: Heb. those that observe me

6 I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good.

7 For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

5 Want vreemdes staan teen my op, en tiranne soek my lewe; hulle stel God nie voor hul nie. Sela.

6 Kyk, God is my helper. Dit is die Here wat my siel ondersteun.

7 Hy sal my vyande die kwaad vergelde. Vernietig hulle in u trou!

8 Vrywillig wil ek aan U offer; ek wil u Naam, o Here, loof, want dié is goed;

9 want dié het my uit alle benoudheid gered, en my oog het met welgevalle op my vyande neergesien.
