1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.*75.1 Al-taschith: or, Destroy not*75.1 of: or, for

3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.

4 I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

5 Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.*75.6 south: Heb. desert

7 But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

9 But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.

2 Ons loof U, o God, ons loof, en naby is u Naam; hulle vertel u wonders.

3 As Ek die regte tydstip aangryp, oordeel Ék regverdig.

4 Al wankel die aarde en al sy bewoners — Ék het sy pilare vasgestel. Sela.

5 Ek sê tot die onsinniges: Wees nie onsinnig nie! en tot die goddelose: Verhef die horing nie!

6 Verhef julle horing nie daarbo en spreek nie met trots uitgerekte nek nie.

7 Want nie van die opgang of van die ondergang, ook nie van die woestyn van berghoogtes nie ...

8 maar God is regter: Hy verneder die een en verhef die ander.

9 Want in die hand van die Here is 'n beker, en die wyn skuim; dit is oorvloedig gemeng, en Hy skink daaruit; ja, die afsaksel daarvan moet al die goddelose van die aarde opslurp, uitdrink.

10 Maar ék sal vir ewig verkondig — ek wil psalmsing tot eer van die God van Jakob.

11 En ek sal al die horings van die goddelose mense stukkend breek; die horings van die regverdige sal verhef word.
