1 A palavra do Senhor veio a mim, dizendo:

2 — Filho do homem, vire o seu rosto contra os filhos de Amom e profetize contra eles. 3 Diga aos filhos de Amom: "Ouçam a palavra do Senhor Deus! Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Visto que vocês disseram: ‘Bem feito!’, quando o meu santuário foi profanado, quando a terra de Israel foi arrasada e quando a casa de Judá foi levada para o exílio, 4 eis que eu os entregarei ao poder dos filhos do Oriente, que estabelecerão os seus acampamentos no meio de vocês e ficarão morando aí. Eles comerão as frutas e beberão o leite de vocês. 5 Farei de Rabá uma estrebaria de camelos e dos filhos de Amom, um curral de ovelhas; e vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor."

6 — Porque assim diz o Senhor Deus: "Visto que vocês bateram palmas, pularam de alegria e, com o mais profundo desprezo, se alegraram por causa da terra de Israel, 7 eis que estenderei a minha mão contra vocês e os darei por despojo às nações. Eu os eliminarei do meio das nações e os farei perecer do meio dos povos. Acabarei com vocês, e vocês saberão que eu sou o Senhor."

8 — Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Visto que Moabe e Seir dizem: "A casa de Judá é como qualquer outra nação", 9 eis que abrirei o flanco de Moabe, começando pelas cidades, sim, pelas cidades da fronteira, a glória daquela terra, Bete-Jesimote, Baal-Meom e Quiriataim. 10 Eu as darei aos povos do Oriente como propriedade, juntamente com os filhos de Amom, para que destes não haja memória entre as nações. 11 Também executarei juízos contra Moabe, e os moabitas saberão que eu sou o Senhor.

12 — Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Visto que Edom se mostrou vingativo para com a casa de Judá e se fez culpado ao extremo, quando se vingou dela, 13 assim diz o Senhor Deus: Também estenderei a mão contra Edom e eliminarei dele pessoas e animais. Farei de Edom um deserto, e desde Temã até Dedã cairão à espada. 14 Exercerei a minha vingança contra Edom, por meio do meu povo de Israel, que fará em Edom segundo a minha ira e segundo o meu furor. E os edomitas conhecerão a minha vingança, diz o Senhor Deus.

15 — Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Visto que os filisteus se mostraram vingativos e com profundo desprezo executaram vingança, para destruírem com inimizade sem fim, 16 assim diz o Senhor Deus: Eis que eu estenderei a minha mão contra os filisteus, eliminarei os queretitas e destruirei o resto da costa do mar. 17 Tomarei deles grandes vinganças, com furiosas repreensões. E saberão que eu sou o Senhor, quando eu tiver exercido a minha vingança contra eles.

1 And the word of LORD came to me, saying,2 Son of man, set thy face toward the sons of Ammon, and prophesy against them.3 And say to the sons of Ammon, Hear the word of lord LORD. Thus says lord LORD: Because thou said, Aha, against my sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Ju4 therefore, behold, I will deliver thee to the sons of the east for a possession, and they shall set their encampments in thee, and make their dwellings in thee. They shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.5 And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the sons of Ammon a couching-place for flocks. And ye shall know that I am LORD.6 For thus says lord LORD: Because thou have clapped thy hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the spite of thy soul against the land of Israel,7 therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the nations. And I will cut thee off from the peoples, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries. I will destroy thee, and t8 Thus says lord LORD: Because Moab and Seir say, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations,9 therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country--Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim--10 [open] to the sons of the east, against the sons of Ammon. And I will give them for a possession, that the sons of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.11 And I will execute judgments upon Moab, and they shall know that I am LORD.12 Thus says lord LORD: Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them,13 therefore thus says lord LORD: I will stretch out my hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it, and I will make it desolate. From Teman, even to Dedan they shall fall by the sword.14 And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath. And they shall know my vengeance, says lord LORD.15 Thus says lord LORD: Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with spite of soul to destroy with perpetual enmity,16 therefore thus says lord LORD: Behold, I will stretch out my hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with wrathful rebukes. And they shall know that I am LORD when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
