1 Então o homem me fez voltar para o portão exterior do santuário, que dá para o leste e que estava fechado. 2 E o Senhor me disse:

— Este portão permanecerá fechado; não deverá ser aberto. Ninguém entrará por ele, porque o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, entrou por ele. Por isso, permanecerá fechado. 3 Quanto ao príncipe, ele se assentará ali por ser príncipe, para comer o pão diante do Senhor. Entrará pelo vestíbulo da porta e sairá pelo mesmo caminho.

4 Depois, o homem me levou para a frente do templo, passando pelo portão do norte. Olhei, e eis que a glória do Senhor enchia a Casa do Senhor; então caí com o rosto em terra. 5 E o Senhor me disse:

— Filho do homem, preste atenção, veja com os próprios olhos e ouça com os próprios ouvidos tudo o que eu lhe disser a respeito de todas as determinações da Casa do Senhor e de todas as suas leis. Preste atenção na entrada do templo e em todas as saídas do santuário.

6 — Diga aos rebeldes, à casa de Israel: Assim diz o Senhor Deus: "Basta de todas essas suas abominações, ó casa de Israel! 7 Porque vocês levaram estrangeiros, incircuncisos de coração e incircuncisos de carne, para estarem em meu santuário e profaná-lo, a saber, o meu templo, quando oferecem o meu pão, a gordura e o sangue. Vocês quebraram a minha aliança, fazendo todas essas abominações. 8 Vocês não cumpriram as prescrições a respeito das minhas coisas sagradas, mas constituíram estrangeiros para executarem o serviço no meu santuário em lugar de vocês."

9 — Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Nenhum estrangeiro que se encontra no meio dos filhos de Israel, incircunciso de coração ou incircunciso de carne, entrará no meu santuário. 10 Os levitas, porém, que se afastaram de mim quando Israel se desviou, que se desviaram de mim, para ir atrás dos seus ídolos, levarão sobre si a sua iniquidade. 11 Contudo, eles poderão servir no meu santuário como guardas dos portões e ministros do templo. Eles matarão os animais do holocausto e do sacrifício para o povo e estarão diante do povo para o servir. 12 Mas, porque serviram o povo na presença dos seus ídolos e puseram diante da casa de Israel um tropeço que os levou a cair em iniquidade, por isso, jurei a respeito deles, diz o Senhor Deus, que eles levarão sobre si a sua iniquidade. 13 Não se aproximarão de mim, para me servirem no sacerdócio, nem se aproximarão de nenhuma de todas as minhas coisas sagradas, que são santíssimas, mas levarão sobre si a sua vergonha e as suas abominações que cometeram. 14 Contudo, eu os encarregarei da guarda do templo, de todo o serviço e de tudo o que tiver de ser feito nele.

15 — Mas os sacerdotes levitas, os filhos de Zadoque, que cumpriram as prescrições do meu santuário, quando os filhos de Israel se desviaram de mim, eles se aproximarão de mim, para me servirem, e estarão diante de mim, para me oferecerem a gordura e o sangue, diz o Senhor Deus. 16 Eles entrarão no meu santuário, e se aproximarão da minha mesa, para me servirem, e cumprirão as minhas prescrições. 17 Quando entrarem pelos portões do átrio interior, usarão vestes de linho. Não deverão usar nada feito de lã, quando servirem nos portões do átrio interior ou dentro do templo. 18 Deverão usar turbantes de linho na cabeça e calções de linho sobre as coxas. Não deverão usar nada que os leve a suar. 19 Quando saírem para o átrio exterior, para junto do povo, deverão tirar as vestes com que ministraram, deixando-as nas santas câmaras. Deverão usar outras roupas, para que, com as suas vestes, não santifiquem o povo. 20 Não raparão a cabeça, nem deixarão o cabelo ficar comprido; pelo contrário, devem cortá-lo como convém. 21 Nenhum sacerdote beberá vinho quando entrar no átrio interior. 22 O sacerdote não se casará nem com viúva nem com mulher divorciada, mas somente com uma virgem da linhagem da casa de Israel ou com a viúva de um sacerdote. 23 Os sacerdotes ensinarão o meu povo a distinguir entre o santo e o profano e lhe darão entendimento quanto à diferença entre o impuro e o puro. 24 Quando houver litígio, eles atuarão como juízes, decidindo a questão segundo o meu direito. Guardarão as minhas leis e os meus estatutos em todas as festas fixas e santificarão os meus sábados.

25 — Não se aproximarão de nenhuma pessoa morta, porque se contaminariam. Apenas se o morto for o pai, a mãe, um filho, uma filha, um irmão, ou uma irmã que não tiver marido, poderão se contaminar. 26 Depois que ele se purificar de novo, deverá esperar sete dias. 27 No dia em que ele entrar no lugar santo, no átrio interior, para ministrar no lugar santo, apresentará a sua oferta pelo pecado, diz o Senhor Deus.

28 — Os sacerdotes terão uma herança; eu sou a sua herança. Vocês não lhes darão nenhuma propriedade em Israel; eu sou a sua propriedade. 29 As ofertas de cereais, as ofertas pelo pecado e as ofertas pela culpa eles comerão; e toda coisa consagrada em Israel será deles. 30 O melhor de todos os primeiros frutos de toda espécie e toda oferta de toda espécie serão dos sacerdotes. Também a primeira parte do cereal moído vocês darão aos sacerdotes, para que façam repousar a bênção sobre a casa de vocês. 31 Os sacerdotes não comerão nenhum pássaro ou animal que tenha morrido por si mesmo ou que tenha sido dilacerado por outro animal.

1 Then he brought me back by the way of the outer gate of the sanctuary, which looks toward the east. And it was shut.2 And LORD said to me, This gate shall be shut. It shall not be opened, nor shall any man enter in by it, for LORD, the God of Israel, has entered in by it. Therefore it shall be shut.3 As for the ruler, he shall sit in it as ruler to eat bread before LORD. He shall enter by the way of the porch of the gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.4 Then he brought me by the way of the north gate before the house. And I looked, and, behold, the glory of LORD filled the house of LORD. And I fell upon my face.5 And LORD said to me, Son of man, mark well, and behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears all that I say to thee concerning all the ordinances of the house of LORD, and all the laws of it. And mark well the entrance of the h6 And thou shall say to the rebellious, even to the house of Israel, Thus says lord LORD: O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations,7 in that ye have brought in foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to profane it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood. And they have broken my covenant, [to add8 And ye have not kept the charge of my holy things, but ye have set keepers of my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves.9 Thus says lord LORD: No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into my sanctuary, of any foreigners that are among the sons of Israel.10 But the Levites who went far from me, when Israel went astray, who went astray from me after their idols, they shall bear their iniquity.11 Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the house, and ministering in the house. They shall kill the burnt-offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to ministe12 Because they ministered to them before their idols, and became a stumbling block of iniquity to the house of Israel, therefore I have lifted up my hand against them, says lord LORD, and they shall bear their iniquity.13 And they shall not come near to me, to execute the office of priest to me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, to the things that are most holy, but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committ14 Yet I will make them keepers of the charge of the house, for all the service of it, and for all that shall be done in it.15 But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, who kept the charge of my sanctuary when the sons of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister to me. And they shall stand before me to offer to me the fat an16 they shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister to me, and they shall keep my charge.17 And it shall be that, when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments, and no wool shall come upon them, while they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.18 They shall have linen headdresses upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon their loins. They shall not gird themselves with [anything that causes] sweat.19 And when they go forth into the outer court, even into the outer court to the people, they shall put off their garments in which they minister, and lay them in the holy chambers. And they shall put on other garments, that they not20 Neither shall they shave their heads, nor allow their locks to grow long. They shall only cut off the hair of their heads.21 Neither shall any of the priests drink wine when they enter into the inner court.22 Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her who is put away, but they shall take virgins of the seed of the house of Israel, or a widow who is the widow of a priest.23 And they shall teach my people the difference between the holy and the common, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.24 And in a controversy they shall stand to judge. They shall judge it according to my ordinances. And they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all my appointed feasts, and they shall hallow my Sabbaths.25 And they shall go in to no dead person to defile themselves. But for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister who has had no husband, they may defile themselves.26 And after he is cleansed, they shall reckon to him seven days.27 And in the day that he goes into the sanctuary, into the inner court, to minister in the sanctuary, he shall offer his sin-offering, says lord LORD.28 And they shall have an inheritance: I am their inheritance. And ye shall give them no possession in Israel. I am their possession.29 They shall eat the meal-offering, and the sin-offering, and the trespass-offering. And every devoted thing in Israel shall be theirs.30 And the first of all the first-fruits of every thing, and every oblation of everything, of all your oblations, shall be for the priest. Ye shall also give to the priests the first of your dough, to cause a blessing to rest on thy h31 The priests shall not eat of anything that dies of itself, or is torn, whether it be bird or beast.
