1 Então ele me levou ao templo e mediu os pilares, três metros de largura de um lado e três metros de largura do outro, que era a largura do tabernáculo. 2 A largura da entrada era de cinco metros, e as paredes laterais tinham dois metros e meio, uma de cada lado. Também mediu a profundidade da nave, e deu vinte metros; mediu a largura, e deu dez metros. 3 Entrou na parte interior, mediu o pilar da entrada, e deu um metro; mediu a largura da entrada, e deu três metros. 4 Também mediu o seu comprimento, e deu dez metros; mediu a largura, e deu dez metros, na parte frontal da nave. Então ele me disse:

— Este é o Santo dos Santos.

5 Depois ele mediu a parede do templo: três metros de espessura. A largura de cada câmara lateral era de dois metros. Essas câmaras ficavam em toda a volta do templo. 6 As câmaras laterais estavam em três andares, câmara sobre câmara, trinta em cada andar. E havia reentrâncias na parede do templo ao redor, para as câmaras laterais, para que as vigas se apoiassem nelas e não fossem introduzidas na parede do templo. 7 As câmaras laterais aumentavam em largura de andar para andar, correspondendo às reentrâncias do templo de andar em andar ao redor; por isso o templo era mais largo em cima. Assim, se subia do andar inferior para o superior, passando pelo andar do meio.

8 E vi um pavimento elevado ao redor do templo; eram os alicerces das câmaras laterais de três metros de altura. 9 A grossura da parede externa das câmaras laterais era de dois metros e meio. A área aberta entre as câmaras laterais do templo 10 e as outras câmaras tinha dez metros de largura por todo o redor do templo. 11 As entradas das câmaras laterais estavam voltadas para a área aberta: uma entrada para o norte e outra para o sul; a largura da área que sobrava era de dois metros e meio ao redor.

12 O edifício que estava numa área separada, do lado oeste, tinha a largura de trinta e cinco metros. A parede do edifício tinha dois metros e meio de espessura ao redor, e o seu comprimento era de quarenta e cinco metros.

13 Então ele mediu o templo: cinquenta metros de comprimento. A área separada, o edifício e as suas paredes também tinham cinquenta metros de comprimento. 14 A largura da frente do templo e da área separada, do lado oeste, era de cinquenta metros. 15 Também mediu o comprimento do edifício, que estava na área separada e por detrás do templo, e as suas galerias em cada lado, e deu cinquenta metros.

O templo propriamente dito, o Santíssimo, o vestíbulo do átrio, 16 os umbrais, as janelas estreitas e as galerias ao redor dos três, diante do umbral, estavam cobertos de madeira ao redor, e isto desde o chão até as janelas, que estavam cobertas. 17 No espaço em cima da porta, e até o templo de dentro e de fora, e em toda a parede ao redor, por dentro e por fora, havia obras de escultura, 18 a saber, querubins e palmeiras. Entre um querubim e outro querubim havia uma palmeira. Cada querubim tinha dois rostos: 19 um rosto humano olhava para a palmeira de um lado, e um rosto de leão olhava para a palmeira do outro lado. Era assim por todo o templo ao redor. 20 Desde o chão até acima da entrada havia querubins e palmeiras, até mesmo pela parede do templo.

21 Os batentes do templo eram quadrados, e a entrada do Santo dos Santos tinha a mesma aparência.

22 O altar de madeira tinha um metro e meio de altura, e o seu comprimento era de um metro. Os seus cantos, a sua base e os seus lados eram de madeira. O homem me disse:

— Esta é a mesa que está diante do Senhor.

23 Tanto o templo quanto o Santo dos Santos tinham duas portas. 24 Havia duas folhas para as portas, duas folhas dobráveis; duas para cada porta. 25 Nelas, isto é, nas portas do templo, havia querubins e palmeiras, como havia nas paredes. Havia também uma cobertura feita de madeira na frente do vestíbulo por fora. 26 E havia janelas estreitas e palmeiras em ambos os lados do vestíbulo, bem como nas câmaras laterais do templo e na cobertura de madeira.

1 And he brought me to the temple, and measured the posts, six cubits broad on the one side, and six cubits broad on the other side, which was the breadth of the tabernacle.2 And the breadth of the entrance was ten cubits. And the sides of the entrance were five cubits on the one side, and five cubits on the other side. And he measured the length of it, forty cubits, and the breadth, twenty cubits.3 Then went he inward, and measured each post of the entrance, two cubits, and the entrance, six cubits, and the breadth of the entrance, seven cubits.4 And he measured the length of it, twenty cubits, and the breadth, twenty cubits, before the temple. And he said to me, This is the most holy place.5 Then he measured the wall of the house, six cubits, and the breadth of every side-chamber, four cubits, round about the house on every side.6 And the side-chambers were in three stories, one over another, and thirty in order. And they entered into the wall which belonged to the house for the side-chambers round about, that they might be attached [to it], and not be attac7 And the side-chambers were broader as they circled [the house] higher and higher, for the circling of the house went higher and higher round about the house. Therefore the breadth of the house [continued] upward, and so increased [8 I also saw that the house had a raised basement round about. The foundations of the side-chambers were a full reed of six great cubits.9 The thickness of the wall, which was for the side-chambers, on the outside, was five cubits. And that which was left was the place of the side-chambers that belonged to the house.10 And between the chambers was a breadth of twenty cubits round about the house on every side.11 And the doors of the side-chambers were toward [the place] that was left, one door toward the north, and another door toward the south. And the breadth of the place that was left was five cubits round about.12 And the building that was before the separate place at the side toward the west was seventy cubits broad, and the wall of the building was five cubits thick round about, and the length of it ninety cubits.13 So he measured the house, a hundred cubits long, and the separate place, and the building, with the walls of it, a hundred cubits long,14 also the breadth of the face of the house, and of the separate place toward the east, a hundred cubits.15 And he measured the length of the building before the separate place which was at the back of it, and the galleries of it on the one side and on the other side, a hundred cubits, and the inner temple, and the porches of the court,16 the thresholds, and the closed windows, and the galleries round about on their three stories, opposite the threshold, paneled with wood round about, and [from] the ground up to the windows, (now the windows were covered),17 to [the space] above the door, even to the inner house, and outside, and by all the wall round about inside and outside, by measure.18 And it was made with cherubim and palm trees, and a palm tree was between cherub and cherub. And every cherub had two faces,19 so that there was the face of a man toward the palm tree on the one side, and the face of a young lion toward the palm tree on the other side, made through all the house round about.20 Cherubim and palm trees were made from the ground to above the door. Thus was the wall of the temple.21 As for the temple, the door-posts were squared. And as for the face of the sanctuary, the appearance was as the appearance [of the temple].22 The altar was of wood, three cubits high, and the length of it two cubits, and the corners of it, and the length of it, and the walls of it, were of wood. And he said to me, This is the table that is before LORD.23 And the temple and the sanctuary had two doors.24 And the doors had two leaves [apiece], two turning leaves, two for the one door, and two leaves for the other.25 And there were made on them, on the doors of the temple, cherubim and palm trees, just as were made upon the walls. And there was a threshold of wood upon the face of the porch outside.26 And there were closed windows and palm trees on the one side and on the other side, on the sides of the porch. Thus were the side-chambers of the house, and the thresholds.
