1 "Não faça declarações falsas e não seja cúmplice do ímpio, sendo-lhe testemunha mal-intencionada.2 "Não acompanhe a maioria para fazer o mal. Ao testemunhar num processo, não perverta a justiça para apoiar a maioria,3 nem para favorecer o pobre num processo.4 "Se você encontrar perdido o boi ou o jumento que pertence ao seu inimigo, leve-o de volta a ele.5 Se você vir o jumento de alguém que o odeia caído sob o peso de sua carga, não o abandone, procure ajudá-lo.6 "Não perverta o direito dos pobres em seus processos.7 Não se envolva em falsas acusações nem condene à morte o inocente e o justo, porque não absolverei o culpado.8 "Não aceite suborno, pois o suborno cega até os que têm discernimento e prejudica a causa do justo.9 "Não oprima o estrangeiro. Vocês sabem o que é ser estrangeiro, pois foram estrangeiros no Egito.10 "Plantem e colham em sua terra durante seis anos,11 mas no sétimo deixem-na descansar sem cultivá-la. Assim os pobres do povo poderão comer o que crescer por si, e o que restar ficará para os animais do campo. Façam o mesmo com as suas vinhas e com os seus olivais.12 "Em seis dias façam os seus trabalhos, mas no sétimo não trabalhem, para que o seu boi e o seu jumento possam descansar, e o seu escravo e o estrangeiro renovem as forças.13 "Tenham o cuidado de fazer tudo o que lhes ordenei. Não invoquem o nome de outros deuses; não se ouçam tais nomes dos seus lábios. "14 "Três vezes por ano vocês me celebrarão festa.15 "Celebrem a festa dos pães sem fermento; durante sete dias comam pão sem fermento, como eu lhes ordenei. Façam isto na época determinada do mês de abibe, pois nesse mês vocês saíram do Egito. "Ninguém se apresentará a mim de mãos vazias.16 "Celebrem a festa da colheita dos primeiros frutos do seu trabalho de semeadura. "Celebrem a festa do encerramento da colheita, quando, no final do ano, vocês armazenarem as colheitas.17 "Três vezes por ano todos os homens devem comparecer diante do Senhor soberano.18 "Não ofereçam o sangue de um sacrifício feito em minha honra com pão fermentado. "A gordura das ofertas de minhas festas não deverá ser guardada até a manhã seguinte.19 "Tragam ao santuário do Senhor seu Deus o melhor dos primeiros frutos das suas colheitas. "Não cozinhem o cabrito no leite da própria mãe.20 "Eis que envio um anjo à frente de vocês para protegê-los por todo o caminho e fazê-los chegar ao lugar que preparei.21 Prestem atenção e ouçam o que ele diz. Não se rebelem contra ele, pois não perdoará as suas transgressões, pois nele está o meu nome.22 Se vocês ouvirem atentamente o que ele disser e fizerem tudo o que lhes ordeno, serei inimigo dos seus inimigos, e adversário dos seus adversários.23 O meu anjo irá à frente de vocês e os fará chegar à terra dos amorreus, dos hititas, dos ferezeus, dos cananeus, dos heveus e dos jebuseus, e eu os exterminarei.24 Não se curvem diante dos deuses deles, nem lhes prestem culto, nem sigam as suas práticas. Destruam-nos totalmente e quebrem as suas colunas sagradas.25 Prestem culto ao Senhor, o Deus de vocês, e ele os abençoará, dando-lhes alimento e água. Tirarei a doença do meio de vocês.26 Em sua terra nenhuma grávida perderá o filho, nem haverá mulher estéril. Farei completar-se o tempo de duração da vida de vocês.27 "Mandarei adiante de vocês o meu terror, que porá em confusão todas as nações que vocês encontrarem. Farei que todos os seus inimigos virem as costas e fujam.28 Causarei pânico entre os heveus, os cananeus e os hititas para expulsá-los de diante de vocês.29 Não os expulsarei num só ano, pois a terra se tornaria desolada e os animais selvagens se multiplicariam, ameaçando vocês.30 Eu os expulsarei aos poucos, até que vocês sejam numerosos o suficiente para tomar posse da terra.31 "Estabelecerei as suas fronteiras desde o mar Vermelho até o mar dos filisteus, e desde o deserto até o Rio. Entregarei em suas mãos os povos que vivem na terra, aos quais expulsarão de diante de vocês.32 Não façam aliança com eles nem com os seus deuses.33 Não deixem que esses povos morem na terra de vocês, senão eles os levarão a pecar contra mim, porque prestar culto aos deuses deles será uma armadilha para vocês. "

1 Thou shall not take up a FALSE report. Do not put thy hand with the wicked man to be an unrighteous witness.2 Thou shall not follow a multitude to do evil, neither shall thou speak in a case to turn aside after a multitude to distort [justice],3 neither shall thou favor a poor man in his case.4 If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his donkey going astray, thou shall surely bring it back to him again.5 If thou see the donkey of him who hates thee lying under his burden, thou shall refrain leaving him. Thou shall surely release [it] with him.6 Thou shall not distort the justice [due] to thy poor in his case.7 Keep thee far from a FALSE matter. And do not kill an innocent and righteous man, for I will not justify a wicked man.8 And thou shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds those who have sight, and perverts the words of the righteous.9 And thou shall not oppress a sojourner, for ye know the heart of a sojourner, since ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt.10 And six years thou shall sow thy land, and shall gather in the increase of it,11 but the seventh year thou shall let it rest and lay fallow, that the poor of thy people may eat, and what they leave the beast of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shall deal with thy vineyard, [and] with thy oliveyard.12 Six days thou shall do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shall rest, that thine ox and thy donkey may have rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the sojourner, may be refreshed.13 And in all things that I have said to you take ye heed, and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.14 Three times thou shall keep a feast to me in the year.15 Thou shall keep the feast of unleavened bread (Seven days thou shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, at the time appointed in the month Abib, for in it thou came out from Egypt, and none shall appear before me empty),16 and the feast of harvest, the first-fruits of thy labors, which thou sow in the field, and the feast of ingathering at the end of the year, when thou gather in thy labors out of the field.17 Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before lord LORD.18 Thou shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread, neither shall the fat of my feast remain all night until the morning.19 The first of the first-fruits of thy ground thou shall bring into the house of LORD thy God. Thou shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.20 Behold, I send a [heavenly] agent before thee, to keep thee by the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.21 Take ye heed before him, and hearken to his voice, provoke him not. For he will not pardon your transgression, for my name is in him.22 But if thou shall indeed hearken to his voice, and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to thine enemies, and an adversary to thine adversaries.23 For my [heavenly] agent shall go before thee, and bring thee in to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, and I will cut them off.24 Thou shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works, but thou shall utterly overthrow them, and break their pillars in pieces.25 And ye shall serve LORD your God, and he will bless thy bread, and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.26 There shall none cast her young, nor be barren, in thy land; I will fulfill the number of thy days.27 I will send my terror before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shall come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs to thee.28 And I will send the hornet before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.29 I will not drive them out from before thee in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the beasts of the field multiply against thee.30 Little by little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.31 And I will set thy border from the Red Sea even to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the River. For I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and thou shall drive them out before thee.32 Thou shall make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.33 They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me, for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to thee.
