1 Sucedeu por aquela altura que Jesus atravessava umas searas com os seus discípulos. Era sábado, o dia de repouso judaico, e como os discípulos sentiam fome, começaram a partir espigas de trigo e a comer o grão. Mas alguns fariseus que os viram fazer isto protestaram: Os teus discípulos estão a ir contra a lei, colhendo no dia de sábado!
3 Mas Jesus disse-lhes: Nunca leram o que o rei David fez quando ele e os companheiros estavam com fome? Entrou no santuário e todos eles comeram o pão sagrado, coisa que só os sacerdotes podiam fazer. Também isto era contra a lei.
5 E nunca leram na lei de Moisés que os sacerdotes de serviço no santuário podiam trabalhar no sábado? Pois aqui está um que é maior do que o santuário!
7 Mas se conhecessem o que quer dizer esta passagem das Escrituras: 'Mais do que as vossos sacrifícios, quero provas da vossa bondade , não teriam condenado quem não tem culpa. Porque eu, o Filho do Homem, sou Senhor do próprio sábado.
9 Depois foi para a sinagoga, e viu ali um homem com uma das mãos aleijada. Os fariseus perguntaram-lhe: A lei permite trabalhar fazendo curas no dia de sábado? (Esperavam, é claro, que ele respondesse Sim, para desta forma poderem acusá-lo.)
11 A sua resposta foi: Se um de vocês tivesse uma única ovelha e no sábado ela caísse num poço, não trabalhariam para a salvar, naquele dia? Quanto mais não vale uma pessoa do que uma ovelha! Evidentemente que é justo fazer bem num sábado.
13 E, voltando-se para o homem: Estende o braço. Quando ele o fez, a mão doente ficou igual à sã!
14 Então os fariseus juntaram-se para combinar a prisão e morte de Jesus. Mas ele, sabendo o que tramavam, saiu da sinagoga, seguido de muita gente. E curou quantos doentes haviam entre eles, avisando-os, contudo, de que não deviam contar os seus milagres.
17 Assim se cumpriu a profecia de Isaías a seu respeito:
18 Olhem o meu servo. Vejam o meu escolhido. Ele é o meu amado, em quem a minha alma tem prazer. Porei o meu Espírito sobre ele, e julgará as nações.
19 Não discute nem grita; não levanta a voz!
20 Não esmaga a cana trilhada, nem apagará o pavio que fumega ainda. Com a sua vitória final, acabará com todos os conflitos,
21 e o seu nome será a esperança do mundo inteiro.
22 Então um cativo do demónio, cego e mudo ao mesmo tempo, foi trazido a Jesus, que o curou de modo que o homem já falava e via
23 A multidão, cheia de espanto, exclamava: Não será este o Filho de David, o Messias? Mas, quando os fariseus souberam do milagre, puseram-se a dizer: Expulsa os demónios pelo poder de Satanás, rei dos demónios.
25 Jesus, conhecendo os seus pensamentos, respondeu: Um reino dividido vai parar à ruína. Uma cidade ou uma casa dividida contra si mesma não se aguenta de pé.-
26 Se Satanás expulsa Satanás, está lutando contra si próprio, destruindo o seu próprio reino.
27 Se, como vocês dizem, expulso os demónios com a ajuda do poder de Satanás, a que poder recorrem os vossos, quando fazem o mesmo? Eles que respondam à vossa acusação!
28 Mas, se expulso os demónios pelo Espírito de Deus, então é porque o reino de Deus já está no vosso meio.
29 Não se pode roubar a casa dum homem forte sem primeiro o amarrar. Só então poderão os seus demónios ser expulsos.
30 Quem não está comigo é contra mim, e quem comigo não ajunta, espalha.
31 Todo o pecado ou blasfémia pode ser perdoado - excepto a blasfémia contra o Espírito Santo, a qual nunca será perdoada.
32 Até o dizer mal de mim , ou mesmo qualquer outro pecado, pode ser perdoado, menos um: falar contra o Espírito Santo; isso jamais terá perdão, seja neste mundo seja no mundo futuro.
33 Uma árvore conhece-se pelo fruto que dá. Uma árvore de qualidade escolhida dá bons frutos; as árvores ruins não o dão. Vocês são como serpentes! Como podem homens maus, como vocês, falar o que é bom e justo? Pois o homem fala consoante o que tem no coração. Um homem bom, ao falar, revela os ricos tesouros que traz consigo. O homem de coração mau anda cheio de veneno, que aparece naquilo que diz. E garanto-vos: no dia do juízo hão-de dar conta de cada palavra leviana que tiverem dito. O que agora dizem aponta para o vosso destino; pelas vossas palavras serão aprovados ou condenados.
38 Certo dia, alguns dos chefes judaicos, incluindo fariseus, foram ter com Jesus pedindo-lhe um milagre que provasse ser ele o Messias.
39 Jesus respondeu-lhes: Só uma nação má e incrédula pediria mais alguma prova; mas não receberá nenhuma, salvo o que aconteceu ao profeta Jonas!
40 Pois assim como Jonas passou três dias e três noites dentro daquele grande peixe, assim também eu, Filho do Homem, ficarei nas entranhas da terra três dias e três noites.
41 Os homens de Nínive hão-de erguer-se contra esta nação no julgamento e vos condenarão. Quando Jonas lhes pregou, arrependeram-se. Agora que está aqui alguém que é maior do que Jonas, não querem crer nele.
42 A rainha de Sabá se levantará contra esta nação no julgamento e a condenará; pois veio de uma terra distante para escutar a sabedoria de Salomão; e agora que está aqui quem é maior do que Salomão, não querem crer nele.
43 Esta nação má é como um demónio dominando uma pessoa: se o demónio se for embora, vai para os lugares desertos durante algum tempo, procurando descanso sem o encontrar, até que diz: 'Vou voltar para a pessoa de quem saí . Assim, volta e encontra o coração daquele indivíduo desocupado, limpo e tudo em ordem! Então, o demónio vai buscar outros sete espíritos ainda piores do que ele próprio, e todos entram na tal pessoa para morar dentro dela. E deste modo fica pior do que antes.
46 Estando Jesus a ensinar numa casa cheia de gente, a sua mãe e seus irmãos estavam do lado de fora e queriam falar-lhe. Quando alguém lhe disse que se encontravam ali, respondeu:
48 Quem é a minha mãe? E quem são os meus irmãos?
49 E, apontando para os seus discípulos: Estes é que são a minha mãe e os meus irmãos.
50 Todo aquele que obedecer ao meu Pai do céu é meu irmão, minha irmã e minha mãe!
1 In that season, went Jesus, on, the sabbath, through the cornfields,and, his disciples, hungered, and began to pluck ears of corn, and to eat.
2 But, the Pharisees, observing it, said unto him, Lo! thy disciples, are doing what is not allowed to do, on sabbath.
3 And he said unto them, have ye never read what, David, did, when he hungered, and they who were with him? how
4 he entered into the house of God and, the presence-bread, did eat, which it was not, allowable, for him to eat, nor for them who were with him,save for the priests, alone?
5 Or have ye not read, in the law, that, on the sabbaths, the priests, in the temple, the sabbath, profane, and are, blameless?
6 But I say unto you,Something greater than the Temple, is here!
7 If, however, ye had known what this meanethMercy, I desire, and not, sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the blameless;
8 For, the Son of Man, is, Lord of the Sabbath.
9 And, passing on from thence, he came into their synagogue;
10 and lo! a man having, a withered hand, and they questioned him, saying, Is it allowable, on the sabbath, to heal? that they might accuse him.
11 And said unto them, What man, from among yourselves, shall there be ,Who shall have one sheep, and, if this should fall, on the sabbath, into a pit, will not lay hold of it, and raise it?
12 How much better, then, a man, than, a sheep? So that it is allowable, on the sabbath, nobly, to act.
13 Then saith he unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand! And he stretched it forth,and it was restored, whole, as the other.
14 And the Pharisees, going forth, took, counsel, against him, to the end that, him, they might destroy.
15 But, Jesus, taking note, retired from thence,and many followed him, and he cured them all;
16 and straitly charged them, lest they should make him, manifest:
17 that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying:
18 Lo! my servant, whom I have chosen, My beloved, in whom, my soul, delighteth,I will put my Spirit upon him, and, justice, unto the nations, will he report:
19 He will not strive, nor will he cry out, nor shall any hear, in the broadways, his voice:
20 A bruised cane, will he not break, and, a smoking wick, will he not quench,until he urge on, justice, to victory,
21 And, in his name, shall nations hope.
22 Then they brought unto him, one demonized, blind and dumb,and he cured him, so that the dumb did speak and see.
23 And all the multitudes were beside themselves, and were saying, Can, this one, be, the Son of David?
24 But, the Pharisees, hearing it, said, This one, doth not cast out the demons, save in Beelzebul ruler of the demons.
25 And, knowing their inward thoughts, he said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself, is laid waste,and, no city or house divided against itself, will stand;
26 And, if, Satan, is casting, Satan, out, against himself, hath he become divided,How then shall, his kingdom, stand?
27 And, if, I, in Beelzebul, am casting out the demons, In whom are, your sons, casting them out? Wherefore, they, shall be, judges of you.
28 But, if, in Gods Spirit, I, am casting out the demons, then doubtless hath come upon you unawares, the kingdom of God!
29 Or how can one enter the house of the mighty and, seize his goods, unless, first, he bind the mighty one? and, then, his house, he will plunder.
30 He that is no with me, is, against me,and, he that gathereth not with me, scattereth
31 Wherefore, I say unto you, All sin and profane speaking, shall be forgiven unto men,but, the speaking profanely of the Spirit, shall not be forgiven;
32 And, whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him,but, whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or the coming.
33 Either make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree worthless, and its fruit worthless; for, from the fruit, the tree is known.
34 Broods of vipers! How can ye speak, good things, being, evil? For, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh.
35 The good man, out of the good treasure, putteth forth, good things; and, the evil man, out of the evil treasure, putteth forth, evil things.
36 But I say unto you, That, every useless expression that men shall utter, they shall render, concerning it, an account, in a day of judgment;
37 For, by thy words, shalt thou be, justified, and, by thy words, shalt thou be condemned.
38 Then, answered him, certain of the Scribes and Pharisees, saying, Teacher! we desire of thee, a sign, to behold.
39 But, he, answering, said unto them, A wicked and adulterous generation, a sign, doth seek, and, a sign, will not be, given, it, save the sign of Jonah the prophet.
40 For, just as was Jonah in the belly of the sea-monster three days and three nights, so, will be the Son of Man, in the heart of the earth, three days and three nights.
41 Men of Nineveh, will rise up in the judgment, with this generation, and will condemn it,because they repented into the proclamation of Jonah; and lo! something greater than Jonah, here.
42 The queen of the south, will arise in the judgment with this generation and will condemn itbecause she came out of the ends of the earth, to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and lo! something greater than Solomon, here.
43 But, when the impure spirit goeth out of the man, it passeth through waterless places, seeking rest,and findeth it not.
44 Then, it saith, Into my house, will I return whence I came out,and, coming, findeth it empty and swept and adorned.
45 Then, it goeth, and taketh along with itself, seven diverse spirits, more wicked than itself,and, entering, abideth there; and, the last state of that man, becometh, worse than the first. So, shall it be, with this, wicked, generation.
46 While yet he was speaking unto the multitudes, lo! his mother and brethren, were standing without, seeking to speak with him.
47 And one said to him, Lo! thy mother and thy brethren, without, are standing, seeking, to speak, with thee.
48 But, he, answering, said unto him that was telling him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49 And, stretching forth his hand towards his disciples, he said, Lo! my mother and my brethren!
50 For, whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in the heavens, he, is my, brother, and sister, and mother.
