1 O Senhor disse a Moisés:2 Agora traz Arão e os seus filhos para a entrada do tabernáculo, e que venham com os paramentos, mais o óleo de unção, e ainda um novilho para oferecer de pecado, dois carneiros e o cesto de pães sem fermento. Convoca todo o povo de Israel para uma assembleia ali.4 Assim o povo se juntou, e Moisés disse-lhes: O que agora vou fazer foi mandado por Jeová.6 Então tomou Arão e os seus filhos, lavou-os com água, vestiu Arão com a túnica especial, pôs-lhe a faixa, o manto, o colete do éfode e o cinto belamente tecido. De seguida pôs-lhe o peitoral e depositou o urim e o tumim na sua bolsa. Colocou-lhe na cabeça o turbante, tendo na parte frontal a placa sagrada em ouro - a coroa santa - tal como o Senhor tinha ordenado.10 Então Moisés pegou no azeite da unção, aspergiu-o sobre o próprio santuário (o tabernáculo) e sobre tudo o que ele continha, para tudo santificar. Espargiu também o altar sete vezes, assim como os seus utensílios e também a bacia mais o pedestal, para os santificar. Depois derramou o azeite da unção sobre a cabeça de Arão, santificando-o assim de forma a poder executar o serviço a que se destinava. Em seguida vestiu as túnicas aos filhos de Arão, e ainda os cintos e os gorros, tal como o Senhor lhe tinha mandado.14 Seguidamente pegou no novilho da oferta de pecado, e Arão mais os seus filhos puseram-lhe as mãos em cima da cabeça, enquanto Moisés o matava. Salpicou com o seu dedo um pouco do sangue do animal sobre os quatro chifres do altar e sobre o próprio altar para o santificar, e derramou o resto do sangue na base do altar. Foi pois assim que santificou o altar fazendo resgate por ele. Tomou toda a gordura que cobria as entranhas, toda a massa gordurosa que cobre o fígado, os dois rins com a sua gordura, e queimou tudo no altar. A carcaça do novilho, com a pele e o esterco, foi queimada fora do acampamento, tal como o Senhor mandara a Moisés.18 Depois apresentou ao Senhor um dos carneiros como oferta queimada. Arão e os filhos puseram-lhe as mãos na cabeça, e Moisés matou-o, espargindo o sangue sobre todo altar. Depois esquartejou-o e queimou os pedaços, assim como a cabeça e a gordura. Em seguida lavou com água as partes internas, mais as patas, e queimou isso no altar, de forma que todo o carneiro foi assim consumido perante o Senhor; foi uma oferta queimada que agradou muito ao Senhor, porque todas as indicações de Jeová a Moisés foram cumpridas.22 Moisés apresentou o outro carneiro, o carneiro da consagração. Arão e os seus filhos puseram as mãos na cabeça do animal, Moisés matou-o e pôs um pouco do sangue na ponta da orelha direita de Arão assim como no seu polegar direito e ainda no dedo grande do seu pé direito. Após isso, fez o mesmo em relação aos filhos, pondo do sangue sobre a ponta das orelhas e sobre os polegares das mãos e dos pés direitos. O resto do sangue espargiu-o sobre todo o altar.25 De seguida tomou a gordura, a cauda, a gordura das partes intestinais, a vesícula, os dois rins mais a respectiva gordura e a espádua direita, pôs sobre isto um bolo sem fermento, um bolo untado com azeite, uma bolacha, tirados do cesto que fora colocado perante o Senhor. Tudo foi posto nas mãos de Arão e dos seus filhos para ser apresentado ao Senhor, com um gesto de movimento, na frente do altar. Moisés tomou depois isso das suas mãos e queimou-o sobre o altar, ao mesmo tempo que o holocausto, para o Senhor. E Jeová agradou-se dessa oferta. Então Moisés pegou no peito e apresentou ao Senhor, movendo-o diante do altar. Esta foi a porção pertencente a Moisés, do carneiro da consagração, conforme o Senhor o tinha instruído.30 Em seguida tomou algum do azeite, e parte do sangue que fora espargido sobre o altar e salpicou-o em Arão e nas suas roupas, fazendo o mesmo com os filhos, consagrando dessa forma ao serviço do Senhor Arão, seus filhos e as respectivas roupas.31 Disse Moisés para Arão e seus filhos: Comam a carne na entrada do santuário, e comam-na com o pão que está no cesto da consagração, tal como vos instrui para que fizessem. Tudo o que restar da carne e do pão deverá ser ardido.33 E disse-lhes que não deixassem a entrada do tabernáculo durante sete dias, após o que a sua consagração ficaria completa. Esta deverá durar pois sete dias.34 Moisés afirmou novamente que o que fizera nesse dia tinha sido mandado pelo Senhor a fim de fazer resgate por eles. E mais uma vez avisou Arão e seus filhos de que deveriam ficar à porta do tabernáculo dia e noite pelo espaço de sete dias. Se saírem daí, disse-lhes, morrerão - foi o que o Senhor disse. E Arão com os seus filhos fizeram tudo o que o Senhor mandara a Moisés.

1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,2 Take Aaron and his sons with him, and the garments, and the anointing oil, and a bullock for the sin-offering, and two rams, and a basket of unleavened bread;3 And assemble thou all the congregation to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.4 And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; and the assembly was gathered to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.5 And Moses said to the congregation, This is the thing which the LORD commanded to be done.6 And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.7 And he put upon him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and he girded him with the curious girdle of the ephod, and bound it to him with it.8 And he put the breast-plate upon him: also he put in the breast-plate the Urim and the Thummim.9 And he put the miter upon his head; also upon the miter, even upon his front, did he put the golden plate, the holy crown; as the LORD commanded Moses.10 And Moses took the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle and all that was in it, and sanctified them.11 And he sprinkled part of it upon the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all its vessels, both the laver and its foot, to sanctify them.12 And he poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him.13 And Moses brought Aaron's sons, and put coats upon them, and girded them with girdles, and put bonnets upon them; as the LORD commanded Moses.14 And he brought the bullock for the sin-offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the bullock for the sin-offering.15 And he slew it; and Moses took the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about with his finger, and purified the altar, and poured the blood at the bottom of the altar, and sanctified it, to make reconciliation upon it.16 And he took all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and Moses burned it upon the altar.17 But the bullock, and his hide, his flesh, and his dung, he burnt with fire without the camp; as the LORD commanded Moses.18 And he brought the ram for the burnt-offering: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.19 And he killed it; and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.20 And he cut the ram into pieces; and Moses burnt the head, and the pieces, and the fat.21 And he washed the inwards and the legs in water; and Moses burnt the whole ram upon the altar: it was a burnt-sacrifice for a sweet savor, and an offering made by fire to the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.22 And he brought the other ram, the ram of consecration: and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.23 And he slew it; and Moses took of its blood, and put it upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.24 And he brought Aaron's sons, and Moses put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, and upon the thumbs of their right hands, and upon the great toes of their right feet: and Moses sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.25 And he took the fat, and the rump, and all the fat that was upon the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and their fat, and the right shoulder:26 And out of the basket of unleavened bread, that was before the LORD, he took one unleavened cake, and a cake of oiled bread, and one wafer, and put them on the fat, and upon the right shoulder:27 And he put all upon Aaron's hands, and upon his sons' hands, and waved them for a wave-offering before the LORD.28 And Moses took them from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt-offering: they were consecrations for a sweet savor: it is an offering made by fire to the LORD.29 And Moses took the breast, and waved it for a wave-offering before the LORD: for of the ram of consecration it was Moses's part; as the LORD commanded Moses.30 And Moses took of the anointing oil, and of the blood which was upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon his sons' garments with him; and sanctified Aaron, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him.31 And Moses said to Aaron and to his sons, Boil the flesh at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation; and there eat it with the bread that is in the basket of consecrations, as I commanded, saying, Aaron and his sons shall eat it.32 And that which remaineth of the flesh and of the bread shall ye burn with fire.33 And ye shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation in seven days, until the days of your consecration shall be at an end: for seven days shall he consecrate you.34 As he hath done this day, so the LORD hath commanded to do, to make an atonement for you.35 Therefore shall ye abide at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation day and night seven days, and keep the charge of the LORD, that ye die not: for so I am commanded.36 So Aaron and his sons did all things which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.
