17 Du har fördrivit min själ från friden,

jag har glömt vad lycka är.

"Det är slut med min livskraft

och mitt hopp till Herren."

därför hoppas jag på honom.

mot dem som väntar på honom,

mot den själ som söker honom.

hoppas på hjälp från Herren.

28 Må han sitta ensam och tyst

när han lägger det på honom.

kanske finns det ännu hopp.

mot den som slår honom

och låta sig mättas av hån.
