1 Atreve-se algum de vós, tendo negócio contra outro, a ir a juízo perante os iníquos, e não perante os santos?2 Porventura não sabeis que os santos julgarão o mundo? e se o mundo é julgado por vós, sois indignos de julgar as coisas mínimas?3 Não sabeis que julgaremos os anjos, quando mais as coisas desta vida?4 Portanto se tiverdes de julgar as coisas desta vida, constituis como juízes aqueles que são de mínima importância na igreja?5 Digo-vos isto para vos envergonhar. É assim que não se pode achar entre vós um só homem sábio que possa julgar entre seus irmãos?6 mas vai um irmão a juízo contra outro irmão, e isso perante os incrédulos?7 É já, na verdade, uma grave perda para vós o terdes demandas uns com os outros. Por que não sofreis antes a injustiça? por que não vos deixais antes defraudar?8 Pelo contrário vós mesmos sois os que fazeis injustiça e defraudais, e isto a irmãos.9 Acaso não sabeis que os injustos não herdarão o reino de Deus? Não vos enganeis; nem fornicários, nem idólatras, nem adúlteros, nem efeminados,10 nem sodomitas, nem ladrões, nem avarentos, nem bêbedos, nem maldizentes, nem roubadores herdarão o reino de Deus.11 Tais fostes alguns; mas fostes lavados, mas fostes santificados, mas fostes justificados em o nome do Senhor Jesus Cristo e no Espírito do nosso Deus.12 Todas as coisas me são lícitas, mas nem todas me convêm. Todas as coisas me são lícitas, mas eu não me deixarei dominar por nenhuma delas.13 Os manjares são para o ventre, e o ventre para os manjares; mas Deus destruirá tanto aquele como a estes. Porém o corpo não é para a fornicação, mas para o Senhor, e o Senhor para o corpo;14 Deus ressuscitou ao Senhor, e também nos ressuscitará a nós pelo seu poder.15 Não sabeis que os vossos corpos são membros de Cristo? tirarei, pois, os membros de Cristo e fá-los-ei membros de uma prostituta? De modo nenhum.16 Porventura não sabeis que aquele que se une com a prostituta, faz-se um corpo com ela? porque, disse, os dois serão uma só carne.17 Mas aquele que se une ao Senhor é um espírito com ele.18 Fugi da fornicação. Todo o outro pecado, qualquer que o homem cometer, é fora do corpo; mas aquele que comete fornicação, peca contra o seu próprio corpo.19 Acaso não sabeis que o vosso corpo é santuário do Espírito Santo que habita em vós, o qual vos foi dado por Deus, e que não sois de vós mesmos?20 Porque fostes comprados por preço, portanto glorificai a Deus no vosso corpo.

1 When one of you has a complaint against another, does he dare to take it before the unrighteous and not before the saints?2 You know that the saints will rule the world, don't you? And if the world is going to be ruled by you, can't you handle insignificant cases?3 You know that we will rule angels, not to mention things in this life, don't you?4 So if you have cases dealing with this life, why do you appoint as judges people who have no standing in the church?5 I say this to make you feel ashamed. Has it come to this, that there is not one person among you who is wise enough to settle disagreements between brothers?6 Instead, one brother goes to court against another brother, and before unbelievers at that!7 The very fact that you have lawsuits among yourselves is already a defeat for you. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?8 Instead, you yourselves practice doing wrong and cheating others, and brothers at that!9 You know that wicked people will not inherit the kingdom of God, don't you? Stop deceiving yourselves! Sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals,10 thieves, greedy people, drunks, slanderers, and robbers will not inherit the kingdom of God.11 That is what some of you were! But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.12 Everything is permissible for me, but not everything is helpful. Everything is permissible for me, but I will not allow anything to control me.13 Food is for the stomach, and the stomach is for food, but God will put an end to both of them. The body is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.14 God raised the Lord, and by his power he will also raise us.15 You know that your bodies are parts of Christ, don't you? Should I take the parts of Christ and make them parts of a prostitute? Certainly not!16 You know that the person who unites himself with a prostitute becomes one body with her, don't you? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."17 But the person who unites himself with the Lord becomes one spirit with him.18 Keep on running away from sexual immorality. Any other sin that a person commits is outside his body, but the person who sins sexually sins against his own body.19 You know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God, don't you? You do not belong to yourselves,20 because you were bought for a price. Therefore, glorify God with your bodies.
