1 Ouvi uma grande voz, vinda do santuário, dizendo aos sete anjos: Ide e derramai sobre a terra as sete taças da ira de Deus.2 Foi o primeiro e derramou a sua taça sobre a terra. Veio uma chaga cruel e maligna sobre os homens que tinham a marca da besta, e sobre os que adoravam a sua imagem.3 Derramou o segundo anjo a sua taça sobre o mar. O mar tornou-se em sangue como de um morto, e morreu toda a alma vivente das que estavam no mar.4 Derramou o terceiro a sua taça sobre os rios e sobre as fontes das águas. Estas se converteram em sangue.5 E ouvi o anjo das águas dizendo: Tu és justo, tu que és e que eras, o Santo, porque isto julgaste;6 pois derramaram sangue de santos e de profetas, e tu lhes tens dado sangue a beber; eles o merecem.7 Ouvi o altar dizendo: Certamente, Senhor Deus Todo-poderoso, verdadeiros e justos são os teus juízos.8 O quarto derramou a sua taça sobre o sol. Foi-lhe permitido queimar os homens com fogo.9 Os homens foram queimados com grande calor, e eles blasfemaram o nome de Deus que tinha poder sobre estas pragas; e não se arrependeram para lhe darem glória.10 O quinto derramou a sua taça sobre o trono da besta. O seu reino foi mergulhado em trevas, e os homens mordiam de dor as suas línguas,11 e blasfemaram o Deus do céu por causa das suas dores e das suas chagas; e não se arrependeram das suas obras.12 O sexto derramou a sua taça sobre o grande rio Eufrates. Secaram-se as suas águas, para que fosse preparado o caminho para os reis vindos do oriente.13 Vi saindo da boca do dragão e da boca da besta e da boca do falso profeta três espíritos imundos semelhantes a rãs;14 pois estes são espíritos de demônios, fazendo milagres, que saem ao encontro dos reis do mundo inteiro, para os ajuntar para a guerra do grande dia do Deus Todo-poderoso.15 (Eis que venho como ladrão; bem-aventurado aquele que vigia e que guarda as suas vestes, para que não ande nu, e vejam a sua vergonha.)16 Eles os ajuntaram no lugar chamado em hebraico Armagedom.17 O sétimo derramou a sua taça no ar. Saiu uma grande voz do santuário, da banda do trono, dizendo: Está feito.18 Sobrevieram relâmpagos, vozes e trovões, e houve um grande terremoto, tão grande e tão forte, como nunca houve semelhante desde que existiram homens sobre a terra.19 A grande cidade foi dividida em três partes, e as cidades das nações caíram. Deus lembrou-se da grande Babilônia, para lhe dar a beber o cálice do vinho do furor da sua ira.20 Toda a ilha fugiu, e os montes não foram achados.21 Uma grande chuva de pedras, cada pedra quase do peso de um talento, caiu do céu sobre os homens; e os homens blasfemaram de Deus por causa da praga da chuva de pedras, pois a sua praga era grande em extremo.

1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour the seven bowls of God's wrath on the earth."2 So the first angel went and poured his bowl on the earth. A horrible, painful sore appeared on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped the image.3 The second angel poured his bowl into the sea. It became like the blood of a dead body, and every living thing in the sea died.4 The third angel poured his bowl into the rivers and the springs of water, and they turned into blood.5 Then I heard the angel of the water say, "You are just. You are the one who isand who was, the Holy One,because you have judged these things.6 You have given them blood to drinkbecause they have poured out the blood of saints and prophets.This is what they deserve."7 Then I heard the altar reply, "Yes, Lord God Almighty,your judgments are true and just."8 The fourth angel poured his bowl on the sun. It was allowed to burn people with fire,9 and they were burned by the fierce heat. They cursed the name of God, who has the authority over these plagues. They did not repent and give him glory.10 The fifth angel poured his bowl on the throne of the beast. Its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed on their tongues in anguish11 and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and sores. But they did not repent of their deeds.12 The sixth angel poured his bowl on the great Euphrates River. Its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the east.13 Then I saw three disgusting spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.14 They are demonic spirits that perform signs. They go to the kings of the whole earth and gather them for the war of the great day of God Almighty.15 "See, I am coming like a thief. How blessed is the person who remains alert and keeps his clothes on! He won't have to go naked and let others see his shame."16 The spirits gathered the kings at the place that is called Armageddon in Hebrew.17 The seventh angel poured his bowl into the air. A loud voice came from the throne in the temple and said, "It has happened!"18 There were flashes of lightning, noises, peals of thunder, and a powerful earthquake. There has never been such a powerful earthquake since people have been on the earth.19 The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. God remembered to give Babylon the Great the cup of wine filled with the fury of his wrath.20 Every island vanished, and the mountains could no longer be found.21 Huge hailstones, each weighing about 100 pounds, fell from the sky on people. They cursed God because the plague of hail was such a terrible plague.
