1 Depois disto vi quatro anjos em pé aos quatro cantos da terra, segurando os quatro ventos da terra, para que nenhum vento soprasse sobre ela, nem sobre o mar, nem sobre árvore alguma.2 Vi outro anjo levantar-se da parte do nascimento do sol, tendo o selo do Deus vivo. Ele clamou com uma grande voz aos quatro anjos, a quem fora dado que fizessem dano à terra e ao mar,3 dizendo: Não façais dano à terra, nem ao mar, nem às árvores antes de termos selado os servos de nosso Deus nas suas testas.4 Ouvi o número dos que foram com selo assinalados, cento e quarenta e quatro mil, assinalados de todas as tribos dos filhos de Israel:5 Da tribo de Judá foram assinalados doze mil; Da tribo de Rúben, doze mil; Da tribo de Gade, doze mil;6 Da tribo de Aser, doze mil; Da tribo de Naftali, doze mil; Da tribo de Manassés, doze mil;7 Da tribo de Simeão, doze mil; Da tribo de Levi, doze mil; Da tribo de Issacar, doze mil;8 Da tribo de Zebulom, doze mil; Da tribo de José, doze mil; Da tribo de Benjamim foram assinaladas doze mil.9 Depois destas coisas olhei, e eis uma grande multidão que ninguém podia contar, de toda a nação e de todas as tribos, povos e línguas, que estavam em pé diante do trono e diante do Cordeiro, cobertos de vestiduras brancas com palmas nas mãos;10 e clamavam com uma grande voz: Salvação a nosso Deus que está sentado sobre o trono, e ao Cordeiro.11 Todos os anjos estavam em pé ao redor do trono e dos anciãos e das quatro criaturas viventes; prostraram-se sobre os rostos diante do trono e adoraram a Deus,12 dizendo: Amém. A bênção, e a glória, e a sabedoria, e as ações de graças, e a honra, e o poder e a força sejam a nosso Deus pelos séculos dos séculos. Amém.13 Um dos anciãos me perguntou: Estes que trajam vestiduras brancas, quem são eles, e donde vieram?14 Respondi-lhe: Meu Senhor, tu o sabes. Disse-me ele: Estes são os que vêm da grande tribulação, lavaram as suas vestiduras e as embranqueceram no sangue do Cordeiro.15 Por isso estão diante do trono de Deus, e o adoram dia e noite no seu santuário; e o que está sentado sobre o trono estenderá o seu tabernáculo sobre eles.16 Eles não terão fome, nem sede nunca jamais; nem cairá sobre eles o sol, nem calor algum,17 porque o Cordeiro que está no meio do trono os pastoreará e os conduzirá às fontes da água da vida, e Deus enxugará toda a lágrima dos olhos deles.

1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth. They were holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind could blow on the land, on the sea, or on any tree.2 I saw another angel coming from the east having the seal of the living God. He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been permitted to harm the land and sea,3 "Don't harm the land, the sea, or the trees until we have marked the servants of our God with a seal on their foreheads."4 I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000. Those who were sealed were from every tribe of Israel:5 12,000 from the tribe of Judah were sealed, 12,000 from the tribe of Reuben, 12,000 from the tribe of Gad,6 12,000 from the tribe of Asher, 12,000 from the tribe of Naphtali, 12,000 from the tribe of Manasseh,7 12,000 from the tribe of Simeon, 12,000 from the tribe of Levi, 12,000 from the tribe of Issachar,8 12,000 from the tribe of Zebulun, 12,000 from the tribe of Joseph, and 12,000 from the tribe of Benjamin were sealed.9 After these things I looked, and there was a large crowd that no one was able to count! They were from every nation, tribe, people, and language. They were standing in front of the throne and the lamb and were wearing white robes, with palm branches in their hands.10 They cried out in a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God,who sits on the throne,and to the lamb!"11 All the angels stood around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell on their faces in front of the throne and worshiped God,12 saying, "Amen! Praise, glory, wisdom, thanks, honor, power, and strengthbe to our God forever and ever! Amen!"13 Then one of the elders said to me, "Who are these people wearing white robes, and where did they come from?"14 I said to him, "Sir, you know."Then he told me, "These are the people who are coming out of the terrible suffering. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb.15 That is why: "They are in front of the throne of Godand worship him night and day in his temple. The one who sits on the throne will shelter them.16 They will never be hungry or thirsty again.Neither the sun nor any burning heat will ever strike them,17 for the lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd. He will lead them to springs filled with the water of life,and God will wipe every tear from their eyes."
