1 Vi na destra daquele que estava sentado sobre o trono um livro escrito por dentro e por fora,2 fechado e selado com sete selos. Vi também um anjo forte proclamando com uma grande voz: Quem é digno de abrir o livro e de romper os seus selos?3 Ninguém podia, nem no céu, nem sobre a terra, nem debaixo da terra, abrir o livro, nem olhar para ele.4 Então eu chorava muito, porque ninguém foi achado digno de abrir o livro nem de olhar para ele.5 Um dos anciãos disse-me: Não chores; eis aqui o Leão que é da tribo de Judá, a Raiz de Davi, venceu para abrir o livro e para romper os seus sete selos.6 Vi no meio do trono e das quatro criaturas viventes, e no meio dos anciãos, um Cordeiro em pé, como se tivesse sido morto, tendo sete chifres e sete olhos, que são os sete Espíritos de Deus, enviados por toda a terra.7 Ele veio e tirou o livro da mão direita daquele que estava sentado sobre o trono.8 Havendo ele tomado o livro, as quatro criaturas viventes e os vinte e quatro anciãos prostraram-se diante do Cordeiro, tendo cada um deles uma harpa, e taças de ouro cheias de incenso, que são as orações dos santos.9 E cantavam um novo cântico, dizendo: Digno és de receber o livro e de abrir os seus selos, porque foste morto e compraste para Deus com o teu sangue homens de toda a tribo, e língua, e povo e nação,10 e lhes fizeste para nosso Deus reino e sacerdotes, e reinarão sobre a terra.11 Olhei, e ouvi a voz de muitos anjos ao redor do trono e das criaturas viventes e dos anciãos, e o número deles era miríades de miríades e milhares,12 clamando com uma grande voz: Digno é o Cordeiro que foi morto de receber o poder, e a riqueza, e a sabedoria, e a força, e a honra, e a glória e a bênção.13 Ouvi toda a criatura que há no céu e sobre a terra e debaixo da terra e no mar, e tudo o que neles há, dizer: Àquele que está sentado sobre o trono, e ao Cordeiro, seja a bênção, e a honra, e a glória, e o domínio pelos séculos dos séculos.14 As quatro criaturas viventes diziam: Amém; os anciãos prostraram-se e adoraram.

1 Then I saw in the right hand of the one who sits on the throne a scroll written on the inside and on the outside, sealed with seven seals.2 I also saw a powerful angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?"3 No one in heaven, on earth, or under the earth could open the scroll or look inside it.4 I began to cry bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside it.5 Then one of the elders said to me, "Stop crying. Look! The Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered. He can open the scroll and its seven seals."6 Then I saw a lamb standing in the middle of the throne, the four living creatures, and the elders. He looked like he had been slaughtered. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth.7 He went and took the scroll from the right hand of the one who sits on the throne.8 When the lamb had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders bowed down in front of him. Each held a harp and a gold bowl full of incense, the prayers of the saints.9 They sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals,because you were slaughtered. With your blood you purchased people for Godfrom every tribe, language, people, and nation.10 You made them a kingdom and priests for our God,and they will reign on the earth."11 Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels, the living creatures, and the elders surrounding the throne. They numbered ten thousands times ten thousand and thousands times thousands.12 They sang with a loud voice, "Worthy is the lamb who was slaughteredto receive power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and praise!"13 I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and on the sea, and everything that is in them, saying, "To the one who sits on the throne and to the lambbe praise, honor, glory, and powerforever and ever!"14 Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!", and the elders bowed down and worshiped.
