1 Ao anjo da igreja em Sardes escreve: Isto diz aquele que tem os sete Espíritos de Deus e as sete estrelas: Sei as tuas obras; que tens nome de que vives, e estás morto.2 Sê vigilante, e confirma o que ainda permanece, que estava prestes a morrer; pois não tenho achado tuas obras completas diante de meu Deus.3 Lembra-te, portanto, como recebeste e ouviste, guarda-o e arrepende-te. Pois se não vigiares, virei como um ladrão, e não conhecerás a hora em que hei de vir a ti.4 Mas tens umas poucas pessoas em Sardes que não contaminaram as suas vestes, e estas andarão comigo em vestes brancas, porque são dignas.5 O vencedor será assim vestido de vestes brancas: não apagarei o seu nome no livro da vida, e confessarei o seu nome diante de meu Pai e diante dos seus anjos.6 Quem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.7 Ao anjo da igreja em Filadélfia escreve: Isto diz o Santo, o Verdadeiro, o que tem a chave de Davi, o que abre e ninguém fechará, o que fecha e ninguém abre:8 Sei as tuas obras (eis que tenho posto diante de ti uma porta aberta, que ninguém pode fechar), que tens pouca força, e guardaste a minha palavra e não negaste o meu nome.9 Eis que farei que alguns da sinagoga de Satanás, que dizem ser judeus, e não o são, mas mentem, eis que farei que venham prostrar-se aos teus pés e conheçam que eu te amei.10 Visto que guardaste a palavra da minha paciência, eu também te guardarei na hora da provação que há de vir sobre o mundo inteiro, para provar os que habitam na terra.11 Venho sem demora; guarda bem o que tens, para que ninguém tome a tua coroa.12 Ao vencedor, fá-lo-ei coluna no santuário do meu Deus, donde jamais sairá; escreverei sobre ele o nome do meu Deus e o nome da cidade do meu Deus, a nova Jerusalém, que desce do céu da parte do meu Deus, e também o meu novo nome.13 Quem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.14 Ao anjo da igreja em Laodicéia escreve: Isto diz o Amém, a testemunha fiel e verdadeira, o princípio da criação de Deus:15 Sei as tuas obras, que não és nem frio nem quente; oxalá foras frio ou quente!16 Assim porque tu és morno, e nem és frio nem quente, estou para te vomitar da minha boca.17 Visto que dizes: Rico sou e estou enriquecido e de nada tenho falta, e não sabes que tu és o coitado, miserável, e pobre, e cego e nu,18 eu te aconselho que de mim compres ouro refinado no fogo para te enriqueceres, vestes brancas para te cobrires e para que a vergonha da tua nudez não seja manifesta, e também colírio para ungires os olhos a fim de que vejas.19 A quantos eu amo, repreendo e castigo; sê, pois, zeloso e arrepende-te.20 Eis aí estou à porta e bato. Se alguém ouvir a minha voz e abrir a porta, entrarei em sua casa, e cearei com ele, e ele comigo.21 Ao vencedor, fá-lo-ei sentar-se comigo no meu trono, assim como eu venci e sentei-me com meu Pai no seu trono.22 Quem tem ouvidos, ouça o que o Espírito diz às igrejas.

1 "To the messengerof the church in Sardis, write:‘The one who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars says this:‘I know your works. You are known for being alive, but you are dead.2 Be alert, and strengthen the things that are left, which are about to die. I have not found your works to be completed in the sight of my God.3 So remember what you received and heard. Obey it, and repent. If you are not alert, I will come like a thief, and you won't know the time when I will come to you.4 But you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes. They will walk with me in white clothes because they are worthy.5 The person who conquers in this way will wear white clothes, and I will never erase his name from the Book of Life. I will acknowledge his name in the presence of my Father and his angels.6 ‘Let the person who has an ear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.’7 "To the messengerof the church in Philadelphia, write:‘The one who is holy, who is true,who has the key of David, who opens a door thatno one can shut,and who shuts a door thatno one can open,says this:8 ‘I know your works. Look! I have put in front of you an open door that no one can shut. You have only a little strength, but you have kept my word and have not denied my name.9 I will make those who belong to the synagogue of Satan—those who claim to be Jews and aren't, but are lying—come and bow down at your feet. Then they will realize that I have loved you.10 Becauseyou have kept my command to endure,I will keep you from the hour of testing that is coming to the whole world to test those living on the earth.11 I am coming soon! Hold on to what you have so that no one takes your victor's crown.12 I will make the one who conquers a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, and he will never go out of it again. I will write on him the name of my God, the name of the city of my God (the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God), and my own new name.13 ‘Let the person who has an ear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.’14 "To the messengerof the church in Laodicea, write:‘The Amen, the witness who is faithful and true, the beginningof God's creation, says this:15 ‘I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot.16 Since you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am going to spit you out of my mouth.17 You say, "I am rich. I have become wealthy. I don't need anything." Yet you don't realize that you are miserable, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked.18 Therefore, I advise you to buy from me gold purified in fire so that you may be rich, white clothes to wear so that you may keep the shame of your nakedness from showing, and ointment to put on your eyes so that you may see.19 I correct and discipline those whom I love, so be serious and repent!20 Look! I am standing at the door and knocking. If anyone listens to my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he will eatwith me.21 To the one who conquers I will give a place to sit with me on my throne, just as I have conquered and have sat down with my Father on his throne.22 ‘Let the person who has an ear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.’"
