1 Justificados, pois, pela fé, tenhamos paz com Deus por meio de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,2 por quem igualmente temos obtido nossa entrada pela fé a esta graça na qual estamos firmes; e gloriemo-nos na esperança da glória de Deus.3 E não só isso, mas também nos gloriemos nas tribulações, sabendo que a tribulação produz fortaleza;4 e a fortaleza, experiência;5 e a experiência, esperança; e a esperança não envergonha, porque o amor de Deus tem sido derramado em nossos corações pelo Espírito Santo que nos foi dado.6 Quando nós ainda éramos fracos, Cristo morreu a seu tempo pelos ímpios.7 Apenas morrerá alguém por um justo; pois pelo bom é possível que alguém até se atreva a morrer;8 mas Deus prova o seu amor para conosco, em que, quando éramos ainda pecadores, morreu Cristo por nós.9 Ora muito mais, sendo agora justificados pelo seu sangue, seremos por ele salvos da ira.10 Se, quando éramos inimigos, fomos reconciliados com Deus pela morte de seu Filho, muito mais, tendo sido reconciliados, seremos salvos pela sua vida;11 e não só isso, mas também nos gloriamos em Deus por nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, por quem agora temos recebido reconciliação.12 Portanto, assim como por um só homem entrou o pecado no mundo, e pelo pecado a morte, assim também a morte passou a todos os homens, visto que todos pecaram;13 pois até a Lei o pecado estava no mundo, mas não é imputado o pecado quando não há lei.14 Entretanto reinou a morte desde Adão até Moisés, ainda sobre aqueles que não pecaram à semelhança da transgressão de Adão, o qual é tipo daquele que havia de vir.15 Mas não é assim o dom como a ofensa; porque se pela ofensa de um só morreram todos, muito mais a graça de Deus e o dom pela graça de um só homem, Jesus Cristo, abundou para com todos.16 A dádiva não é como por um só que pecou; porque o julgamento veio, na verdade, de uma só ofensa para a condenação, mas o dom veio de muitas ofensas para a justificação.17 Se pela ofensa de um só reinou por ele a morte, muito mais os que recebem a abundância da graça e do dom da justiça, reinarão em vida por um só que é Jesus Cristo.18 Assim, pois, como por uma só ofensa veio o julgamento sobre todos os homens para a condenação, assim também por um só ato de justiça veio o julgamento sobre todos os homens para a justificação da vida.19 Assim como pela desobediência de um só homem foram todos constituídos pecadores, assim também pela obediência de um só todos serão constituídos justos.20 Sobreveio a Lei para que abundasse a ofensa; mas onde abundou o pecado, superabundou a graça,21 para que, assim como reinou o pecado na morte, assim também reine a graça pela justiça para a vida eterna mediante Jesus Cristo nosso Senhor.

1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we boast in our hope of sharing God's glory.3 Not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,4 endurance produces character, and character produces hope.5 Now this hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.6 For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.7 For it is rare for anyone to die for a righteous person, though somebody might be brave enough to die for a good person.8 But God demonstrates his love for us by the fact that Christ died for us while we were still sinners.9 Now that we have been justified by his blood, how much more will we be saved from wrath through him!10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by his life!11 Not only that, but we also continue to boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received our reconciliation.12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, so death spread to everyone, because all have sinned.13 Certainly sin was in the world before the law was given, but no record of sin is kept when there is no law.14 Nevertheless, death ruled from the time of Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin in the same way Adam did when he disobeyed. He is a type of the one who would come.15 But God's free gift is not like Adam's offense. For if many people died as the result of one man's offense, how much more have God's grace and the free gift given through the kindness of one man, Jesus Christ, been showered on many people!16 Nor can the free gift be compared to what came through the man who sinned. For the sentence that followed one man's offense brought condemnation, but the free gift brought justification, even after many offenses.17 For if, through one man, death ruled because of that man's offense, how much more will those who receive such overflowing grace and the gift of righteousness rule in life because of one man, Jesus Christ!18 Consequently, just as one offense resulted in condemnation for everyone, so one act of righteousness results in justification and life for everyone.19 For just as through one man's disobedience many people were made sinners, so also through one man's obedience many people will be made righteous.20 Now the law crept in so that the offense would increase. But where sin increased, grace increased even more,21 so that, just as sin ruled by bringing death, so also grace might rule by bringing justification that results in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
