1 Agora, pois, nada de condenação há para os que estão em Cristo Jesus.2 Pois a lei do Espírito da vida te livrou em Cristo Jesus da lei do pecado e da morte.3 O que a Lei não podia fazer, no que se achava fraca pela carne, Deus, enviando a seu próprio Filho em semelhança de carne de pecado e por causa do pecado, condenou o pecado na carne;4 para que a exigência justa da Lei se cumprisse em nós, que não andamos segundo a carne, mas segundo o Espírito.5 Os que são segundo a carne, põem a sua mente nas coisas da carne, mas os que são segundo o Espírito, põem a sua mente nas coisas do Espírito.6 A mente da carne é morte, mas a mente do Espírito é vida e paz.7 Pois a mente da carne é inimizade contra Deus; visto que não é sujeita à lei de Deus, nem o pode ser;8 os que estão sujeitos à carne, não podem agradar a Deus.9 Vós, porém, não estais sujeitos à carne, mas ao Espírito, se realmente o Espírito de Deus habita em vós. Mas se alguém não tem o Espírito de Cristo, esse não é dele.10 Se Cristo está em vós, o corpo, na verdade, está morto por causa do pecado, mas o espírito é vida por causa da justiça.11 Mas se o Espírito daquele que ressuscitou a Jesus dentre os mortos habita em vós, aquele que ressuscitou a Cristo Jesus dentre os mortos, também dará vida aos vossos corpos mortais pelo seu Espírito que habita em vós.12 Portanto, irmãos, somos devedores não à carne, para que vivamos segundo a carne.13 Se viverdes segundo a carne, haveis de morrer; mas se pelo Espírito mortificardes as obras do corpo, vivereis.14 Pois todos os que são guiados pelo Espírito de Deus, estes são filhos de Deus.15 Não recebestes o espírito de escravidão para estardes outra vez com temor, mas recebestes o espírito de adoção, pelo qual clamamos: Aba, Pai.16 O Espírito mesmo dá testemunho com o nosso espírito de que somos filhos de Deus.17 E se filhos, também herdeiros; herdeiros de Deus, e co-herdeiros de Cristo, se realmente padecemos com ele, para que também com ele sejamos glorificados.18 Tenho para mim que os sofrimentos da vida presente não têm valor em comparação com a glória que há de ser revelada em nós.19 A ardente expectativa da criação aguarda a manifestação dos filhos de Deus.20 Pois a criação ficou sujeita à vaidade, não voluntariamente, mas por causa daquele que a sujeitou,21 na esperança de que também a própria criação será libertada do cativeiro da corrupção para a liberdade da glória dos filhos de Deus.22 Ora sabemos que toda a criação juntamente geme e está com dores de parto até agora;23 e não só ela, mas também nós, embora tenhamos as primícias do Espírito, gememos ainda em nós mesmos, aguardando a nossa adoção, isto é, a redenção do nosso corpo.24 Pois na esperança fomos salvos; porém a esperança que se vê, não é esperança; porque o que alguém vê, como o espera?25 Mas se esperamos o que não vemos, com perseverança o aguardamos.26 Do mesmo modo também o Espírito ajuda a nossa fraqueza; porque não sabemos o que havemos de pedir como convém, mas o Espírito mesmo intercede por nós com gemidos inesprimíveis;27 e aquele que esquadrinha os corações, sabe qual é a intenção do Espírito, que ele segundo a vontade de Deus intercede pelos santos.28 Sabemos que aos que amam a Deus, todas as coisas lhes cooperam para o bem, a saber, aos que são chamados segundo o seu propósito.29 Porque os que dantes conheceu, também predestinou para serem conformes à imagem de seu Filho, a fim de que ele fosse o primogênito entre muitos irmãos;30 e aos que predestinou, a estes também chamou; e aos que chamou, a estes também justificou; e aos que justificou, a estes também glorificou.31 Que diremos, pois, à vista destas coisas? Se Deus é por nós, quem será contra nós?32 Aquele que não poupou a seu próprio Filho, mas por todos nós o entregou, como não nos dará também com ele todas as coisas?33 Quem formará acusação contra os escolhidos de Deus? É Deus quem os justifica.34 Quem é o que os condena? Cristo Jesus é o que morreu, ou antes, o que foi ressuscitado; o que está à mão direita de Deus; o que também intercede por nós!35 Quem nos separará do amor de Cristo? será tribulação, ou angústia, ou perseguição, ou fome, ou nudez, ou perigo, ou espada?36 Como está escrito: Por amor de ti somos entregues à morte o dia todo, Fomos considerados como ovelhas para o matadouro.37 Mas em todas estas coisas somos mais que vencedores por aquele que nos amou.38 Pois estou persuadido de que nem a morte, nem a vida, nem os anjos, nem os principados, nem as coisas presentes,39 nem as futuras, nem os poderes, nem a altura, nem a profundidade, nem qualquer outra criatura nos poderá separar do amor de Deus, que é em Cristo Jesus nosso Senhor.

1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in union with Christ Jesus.2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.3 For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to deal with sin. He condemned sin in the flesh4 so that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.6 To set our minds on the flesh leads to death, but to set our minds on the Spirit leads to life and peace.7 That is why the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile toward God. For it refuses to submit to the authority of God's law because it is powerless to do so.8 Indeed, those who are under the control of the flesh cannot please God.9 You, however, are not of the flesh but under the control of the Spirit, since God's Spirit lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him.10 But if Christ is in you, your bodies are dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.11 And if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, then the one who raised Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive by his Spirit who lives in you.12 Consequently, brothers, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.13 For if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die, but if by the Spirit you continually put to death the activities of the body, you will live.14 For all who are led by God's Spirit are God's children.15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery that leads you into fear again. Instead, you have received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba! Father!"16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.17 Now if we are children, we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if, in fact, we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed to us.19 For the creation is eagerly waiting for God to reveal his children,20 because the creation was subjected to frustration, though not by its own choice. The one who subjected it did so in the hope21 that the creation itself would also be set free from slavery to decay in order to share the glorious freedom of God's children.22 For we know that all creation has been groaning with the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.23 However, not only creation groans, but we who have the first fruits of the Spirit also groan inwardly as we eagerly wait for our adoption, the redemption of our bodies.24 For we were saved with this hope in mind. Now hope that is seen is not really hope, for who hopes for what can be seen?25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with patience.26 In the same way, the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as we should. But the Spirit himself intercedes with groans too deep for words,27 and the one who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, for the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to God's will.28 And we know that he works all things together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.30 And those whom he predestined, he also called; and those whom he called, he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified.31 What, then, can we say about all of this? If God is for us, who can be against us?32 The one who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for all of us—surely he will give us all things along with him, won't he?33 Who can bring an accusation against God's chosen people? It is God who justifies them!34 Who can condemn them? Christ Jesus, who died—and more importantly, who has been raised and is seated at the right hand of God—is the one who is also interceding for us!35 Who can separate us from Christ's love? Can trouble, distress, persecution, hunger, nakedness, danger, or a sword?36 As it is written, "For your sake we are being killed all day long.We are thought of as sheep to be slaughtered."37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through the one who loved us.38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,39 nor anything above, nor anything below, nor anything else in all creation can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
