1 Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looks toward the east.2 And, look, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shined with his glory.3 And it was according to the appearance of the vision which I saw, even according to the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city; and the visions were like the vision that I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.4 And the glory of Yahweh came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.5 And the Spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, look, the glory of Yahweh filled the house.6 And I heard one speaking to me out of the house; and a man stood by me.7 And he said to me, Son of Man, as for the place of my throne, and as for the place of the soles of my feet, [they will be] where I will stay in the midst of the sons of Israel forever. And the house of Israel will no more defile my holy name, neither they, nor their kings, by their prostitution, and by the dead bodies of their kings [in] their high places;8 in their setting of their threshold by my threshold, and their door-post beside my door-post, and there was [but] the wall between me and them; and they have defiled my holy name by the disgusting behaviors that they have done: therefore I have consumed them in my anger.9 Now let them put away their prostitution, and the dead bodies of their kings, far from me; and I will stay in the midst of them forever.10 You, Son of Man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern.11 And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the form of the house, and its fashion, and its egresses, and its entrances, and all its forms, and all its ordinances, and all its forms, and all its laws; and write it in their sight; that they may keep its whole form, and all its ordinances, and do them.12 This is the law of the house: on the top of the mountain the whole limit of it round about will be most holy. Look, this is the law of the house.13 And these are the measures of the altar by cubits (the cubit is a cubit and a handbreadth): And a hole of one cubit and the width a cubit, and its border by its edge round about a span; and this will be the base of the altar.14 And from the bottom on the ground to the lower ledge will be two cubits, and the width one cubit; and from the lesser ledge to the greater ledge will be four cubits, and the width a cubit.15 And the upper altar will be four cubits; and from the altar hearth and upward there will be four horns.16 And the altar hearth will be twelve [cubits] long by twelve broad, square in its four sides.17 And the ledge will be fourteen [cubits] long by fourteen broad in its four sides; and the border about it will be half a cubit; and its bottom will be a cubit round about; and its steps will look toward the east.18 And he said to me, Son of Man, thus says the Sovereign Yahweh: These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they will make it, to offer burnt-offerings on it, and to sprinkle blood on it.19 You will give to the priests the Levites who are of the seed of Zadok, who are near to me, to minister to me, says the Sovereign Yahweh, a young bull for a sin-offering.20 And you will take of its blood, and put it on the four horns of it, and on the four corners of the ledge, and on the border round about: thus you will cleanse it and make atonement for it.21 You will also take the bull of the sin-offering, and it will be burnt in the appointed place of the house, outside the sanctuary.22 And on the second day you will offer a he-goat without blemish for a sin-offering; and they will cleanse the altar, as they cleansed it with the bull.23 When you have made an end of cleansing it, you will offer a young bull without blemish, and a ram out of the flock without blemish.24 And you will bring them near before Yahweh, and the priests will cast salt on them, and they will offer them up for a burnt-offering to Yahweh.25 Seven days you will prepare every day a goat for a sin-offering: they will also prepare a young bull, and a ram out of the flock, without blemish.26 Seven days they will make atonement for the altar and purify it; so they will consecrate it.27 And when they have accomplished the days, it will be that on the eighth day, and forward, the priests will make your{+} burnt-offerings on the altar, and your{+} peace-offerings; and I will accept you{+}, says the Sovereign Yahweh.

1 Então o homem levou-me até a porta que dava para o leste,2 e vi a glória do Deus de Israel que vinha do lado leste. Aqui viverei para sempre entre os israelitas. A nação de Israel jamais contaminará o meu santo nome, nem eles nem seus reis, mediante a sua prostituição e os ídolos sem vida de seus reis em seus santuários nos montes.8 Quando eles puseram sua soleira perto de minha soleira e seus batentes junto de meus batentes, com apenas uma parede fazendo separação entre mim e eles, eles contaminaram o meu santo nome com suas práticas repugnantes. Ponha essas coisas por escrito diante deles para que sejam fiéis à planta e sigam as suas estipulações.12 "Esta é a lei do templo: Toda a área ao redor no topo do monte será santíssima. Essa é a lei do templo.13 "Estas são as medidas do altar pela medida longa, isto é, de meio metro: Sua calha tem meio metro de fundo e meio metro de largura, com uma aba de um palmo em torno da beirada. E esta é a altura do altar:14 Desde a calha no chão até a saliência inferior, ele tem um metro de altura e um metro de largura, e desde a saliência menor até a saliência maior, tem dois metros de altura e meio metro de largura.15 A fornalha do altar tem dois metros de altura, e quatro pontas se projetam dela para cima.16 A fornalha do altar é quadrada, com seis metros de comprimento e seis metros de largura.17 A saliência superior também é quadrada, com sete metros de comprimento e sete metros de largura, com uma aba de vinte e cinco centímetros e uma calha de meio metro em toda a sua extensão ao redor. Os degraus do altar estão voltados para o oriente".18 Então ele me disse: "Filho do homem, assim diz o Soberano Senhor: Estes serão os regulamentos que deverão ser seguidos no sacrifício dos holocaustos e na aspersão do sangue no altar, quando ele for construído:19 Você deverá dar um novilho como oferta aos sacerdotes levitas, da família de Zadoque, os quais se aproximam para ministrar diante de mim, palavra do Soberano Senhor.20 Você colocará um pouco desse sangue nas quatro pontas do altar, nos quatro cantos da saliência superior e ao redor de toda a aba, e assim purificará o altar e fará propiciação por ele.21 Você queimará o novilho para a oferta pelo pecado no lugar determinado da área do templo, fora do santuário.22 "No segundo dia você oferecerá um bode sem defeito como oferta pelo pecado, e o altar será purificado como foi purificado com o novilho.23 Quando terminar de purificá-lo, ofereça um novilho e um carneiro tirados do rebanho, ambos sem defeito.24 Você os oferecerá perante o Senhor, e os sacerdotes deverão pôr sal sobre eles e sacrificá-los como holocausto ao Senhor.25 "Durante sete dias você fornecerá diariamente um bode como oferta pelo pecado; fornecerá também um novilho e um carneiro tirados do rebanho, ambos sem defeito.26 Durante sete dias os sacerdotes farão propiciação pelo altar e o purificarão; assim eles o consagrarão.27 No final desses dias, a partir do oitavo dia, os sacerdotes apresentarão os holocaustos e os sacrifícios de comunhão de vocês sobre o altar.
