1 Jesus afirmou essas coisas e depois, levantando os olhos ao céu, disse: Pai, é chegada a hora. Glorifica teu Filho, para que teu Filho glorifique a ti;2 e para que, pelo poder que lhe conferiste sobre toda criatura, ele dê a vida eterna a todos aqueles que lhe entregaste.3 Ora, a vida eterna consiste em que conheçam a ti, um só Deus verdadeiro, e a Jesus Cristo que enviaste.4 Eu te glorifiquei na terra. Terminei a obra que me deste para fazer.5 Agora, pois, Pai, glorifica-me junto de ti, concedendo-me a glória que tive junto de ti, antes que o mundo fosse criado.6 Manifestei o teu nome aos homens que do mundo me deste. Eram teus e deste-mos e guardaram a tua palavra.7 Agora eles reconheceram que todas as coisas que me deste procedem de ti.8 Porque eu lhes transmiti as palavras que tu me confiaste e eles as receberam e reconheceram verdadeiramente que saí de ti, e creram que tu me enviaste.9 Por eles é que eu rogo. Não rogo pelo mundo, mas por aqueles que me deste, porque são teus.10 Tudo o que é meu é teu, e tudo o que é teu é meu. Neles sou glorificado.11 Já não estou no mundo, mas eles estão ainda no mundo; eu, porém, vou para junto de ti. Pai santo, guarda-os em teu nome, que me encarregaste de fazer conhecer, a fim de que sejam um como nós.12 Enquanto eu estava com eles, eu os guardava em teu nome, que me incumbiste de fazer conhecido. Conservei os que me deste, e nenhum deles se perdeu, exceto o filho da perdição, para que se cumprisse a Escritura.13 Mas, agora, vou para junto de ti. Dirijo-te esta oração enquanto estou no mundo para que eles tenham a plenitude da minha alegria.14 Dei-lhes a tua palavra, mas o mundo os odeia, porque eles não são do mundo, como também eu não sou do mundo.15 Não peço que os tires do mundo, mas sim que os preserves do mal.16 Eles não são do mundo, como também eu não sou do mundo.17 Santifica-os pela verdade. A tua palavra é a verdade.18 Como tu me enviaste ao mundo, também eu os enviei ao mundo.19 Santifico-me por eles para que também eles sejam santificados pela verdade.20 Não rogo somente por eles, mas também por aqueles que por sua palavra hão de crer em mim.21 Para que todos sejam um, assim como tu, Pai, estás em mim e eu em ti, para que também eles estejam em nós e o mundo creia que tu me enviaste.22 Dei-lhes a glória que me deste, para que sejam um, como nós somos um:23 eu neles e tu em mim, para que sejam perfeitos na unidade e o mundo reconheça que me enviaste e os amaste, como amaste a mim.24 Pai, quero que, onde eu estou, estejam comigo aqueles que me deste, para que vejam a minha glória que me concedeste, porque me amaste antes da criação do mundo.25 Pai justo, o mundo não te conheceu, mas eu te conheci, e estes sabem que tu me enviaste.26 Manifestei-lhes o teu nome, e ainda hei de lho manifestar, para que o amor com que me amaste esteja neles, e eu neles.

1 Jesus spoke these words and lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, Father, the hour is come; clarify thy Son, that thy Son may also clarify thee,2 as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.4 I have clarified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou didst give me to do.5 And now, O Father, clarify thou me with thine own self with that clarity which I had with thee before the world was.6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou didst give me out of the world; thine they were, and thou didst give them me; and they have kept thy word.7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received [them] and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.9 I pray for them; I do not pray for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine.10 And all my things are thine, and thine are mine; and I have been clarified in them.11 And now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, those whom thou hast given me, keep them in thy name, that they may be one, as we [are].12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.13 And now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.14 I have given them thy word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.15 I do not pray that thou should take them out of the world, but that thou should keep them from the evil.16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.17 Sanctify them in thy truth; thy word is [the] truth.18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified in [the] truth.20 Neither do I pray for these alone, but also for those who shall believe in me through their word;21 that they all may be one; as thou, Father, [art] in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.22 And the clarity which thou gavest me I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfect in one and that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am, that they may behold my clarity, which thou hast given me, for thou hast loved me from before the foundation of the world.25 O righteous Father, the world has not known thee; but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.26 And I have manifested unto them thy name and will manifest it still, that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.:
