Apocalipse 13

1 Then I stood*13:1 NU reads he stood on the sand of the sea. I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads. On his horns were ten crowns, and on his heads, blasphemous names. 2 The beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. 3 One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled at the beast. 4 They worshiped the dragon because he gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"

5 A mouth speaking great things and blasphemy was given to him. Authority to make war for forty-two months was given to him. 6 He opened his mouth for blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, his dwelling, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, he must be killed.*13:10 TR reads "If anyone leads into captivity, into captivity he goes. If anyone will kill with the sword, he must be killed with a sword." instead of "If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, he must be killed." Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

11 I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. 12 He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the sky to the earth in the sight of people. 14 He deceives my own*13:14 NU omits "my own" people who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth that they should make an image to the beast who had the sword wound and lived. 15 It was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause as many as wouldn’t worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given marks on their right hands or on their foreheads; 17 and that no one would be able to buy or to sell unless he has that mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is six hundred sixty-six.

Vilddjuret från havet

1 *Dan 7:3f, Upp 11:7, 17:8f. Och jag såg ett vilddjur komma upp ur havet. Det hade tio horn och sju huvuden och tio kronor på sina horn, och hädiska namn på sina huvuden. 2 *Dan 7:4f. Vilddjuret som jag såg liknade en leopard, och det hade fötter som en björn och ett gap som ett lejon. Och draken gav det sin makt och sin tron och stor auktoritet. 3 Ett av dess huvuden såg ut att ha blivit slaktat och dödat, men dess dödliga sår hade läkts. Och hela jorden förundrade sig över vilddjuret och följde det. 4 De tillbad draken för att han hade gett sin makt åt vilddjuret, och de tillbad vilddjuret och sade: "Vem är som vilddjuret? Vem kan strida mot det?"

5 *Dan 7:8, 11:36, Upp 11:2. Och vilddjuret fick en mun som talade stora och hädiska ord, och det fick rätt att fortsätta i fyrtiotvå månader. 6 Det öppnade sin mun för att häda Gud, för att häda hans namn och hans boning, dem som bor i himlen. 7 *Dan 7:21. Och vilddjuret fick rätt att strida mot de heliga och besegra dem, och det fick makt över alla stammar och folk och språk och länder. 8 *Dan 12:1, Luk 10:20, 1 Petr 1:20, Upp 5:6. Alla jordens invånare kommer att tillbe det, alla som inte från världens skapelse*13:8från världens skapelseSpråkligt sett kan dessa ord också höra ihop med Lammet, vilket ger läsningen "Lammet som är slaktat från världens skapelse". Jfr dock Upp 17:8. har sitt namn skrivet i livets bok som tillhör Lammet som är slaktat.

9 *Upp 2:7. Du som har öron, hör: 10 *Jer 15:2f, Matt 26:52, Upp 14:12. Om någon ska gå i fångenskap, då går han i fångenskap*13:10ska gå i fångenskap … ska dödasAndra handskrifter: "tar fångar … dödar".. Om någon ska dödas med svärd, då dödas han med svärd. Här visar sig de heligas uthållighet och tro.

Vilddjuret från jorden

11 *Matt 7:15, 12:34. Och jag såg ett annat vilddjur komma upp ur jorden. Det hade två horn som ett lamm men talade som en drake. 12 Det utövar det första vilddjurets hela makt inför det och får jorden och dess invånare att tillbe det första vilddjuret vars dödliga sår hade blivit läkt. 13 *Matt 24:24, 2 Tess 2:9f. Det gör stora tecken och får till och med eld att falla från himlen ner på jorden i människornas åsyn. 14 *Upp 19:20. Genom tecknen det fått makt att göra inför vilddjuret förleder det jordens invånare. Det säger till jordens invånare att göra en bild åt vilddjuret som har ett sår från ett svärd men lever igen. 15 *Dan 3:5f. Och det fick makt att ge livsande åt vilddjurets bild, så att vilddjurets bild till och med kunde tala och låta döda dem som inte tillbad vilddjurets bild.

16 Och det tvingar alla – små och stora, rika och fattiga, fria och slavar – att ta emot ett märke på högra handen eller pannan, 17 *Upp 14:9, 11. så att ingen kan köpa eller sälja utom den som har märket, vilddjurets namn eller dess namns tal. 18 Här krävs vishet. Den som har förstånd ska räkna ut vilddjurets tal, för det är en människas tal. Och dess tal är 666*13:18666Enstaks handskrifter: "616"..
