Apocalipse 5

1 I saw, in the right hand of him who sat on the throne, a book written inside and outside, sealed shut with seven seals. 2 I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?" 3 No one in heaven above, or on the earth, or under the earth, was able to open the book or to look in it. 4 Then I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look in it. 5 One of the elders said to me, "Don’t weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome: he who opens the book and its seven seals."

6 I saw in the middle of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the middle of the elders, a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth. 7 Then he came, and he took it out of the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8 Now when he had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 They sang a new song, saying,

"You are worthy to take the book

and to open its seals,

for you were killed,

and bought us for God with your blood

out of every tribe, language, people, and nation,

10 and made us kings and priests to our God;

and we will reign on the earth."

11 I looked, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders. The number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!"

13 I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen!"*5:13 TR omits "Amen!"

14 The four living creatures said, "Amen!" Then the*5:14 TR adds "twenty-four" elders fell down and worshiped.*5:14 TR adds "the one living forever and ever"

Bokrullen med de sju sigillen

1 *Jes 29:11, Hes 2:9f. Och jag såg i högra handen på honom som satt på tronen en bokrulle med skrift på både insidan och utsidan, förseglad med sju sigill*5:1sigillEtt förseglat brev fick endast öppnas och läsas av den rätte mottagaren.. 2 *Upp 10:1, 18:21. Och jag såg en väldig ängel som ropade med stark röst: "Vem är värdig att öppna bokrullen och bryta dess sigill?" 3 Men ingen i himlen eller på jorden eller under jorden kunde öppna bokrullen eller se in i den. 4 Och jag grät bittert över att det inte fanns någon som var värdig att öppna bokrullen eller se in i den.

5 *1 Mos 49:9f, Jes 11:1, 10, Rom 15:12, Upp 22:16. Men en av de äldste sade till mig: "Gråt inte! Se, Lejonet av Juda stam, Davids rotskott, har segrat. Han kan öppna bokrullen och dess sju sigill."

Lammet inför tronen

6 *Jes 53:7, Sak 4:10, Joh 1:29, Apg 4:5, 1 Petr 1:19. Och jag såg: i mitten mellan tronen och de fyra varelserna och de äldste stod ett Lamm*5:5fLejonet … ett Lamm"Lejonet" påminner om de bibelställen i GT som talar om Messias som den segrande kungen (t ex 1 Mos 49:9f), medan "Lammet" (offerlammet) påminner om de ställen som framställer honom som Herrens lidande tjänare (Jes 53:7). Se även not till Joh 1:29., som såg ut att ha blivit slaktat. Det hade sju horn*5:6hornSymbol för höghet och styrka. och sju ögon, som är Guds sju andar utsända över hela jorden. 7 *Upp 4:2. Och Lammet gick fram och tog bokrullen ur högra handen på honom som satt på tronen.

8 *Ps 141:2, Upp 8:3f. Och när det tog bokrullen, föll de fyra varelserna och de tjugofyra äldste ner inför Lammet. Var och en hade en harpa och skålar av guld fulla med rökelse, som är de heligas böner.

Den nya sången till Lammet

9 *Ps 96:1, Jes 42:10, 1 Kor 6:20, 1 Petr 1:18f. Och de sjöng en ny sång:

"Du är värdig att ta bokrullen

och bryta dess sigill,

för du har blivit slaktad,

och med ditt blod

har du friköpt människor åt Gud

av alla stammar och språk

och länder och folk.

10 *2 Mos 19:5f, 1 Petr 2:5, 9, Upp 1:6. Du har gjort dem

till ett kungarike

och till präster åt vår Gud,

och de ska regera på jorden."

11 *Dan 7:10, Hebr 12:22. Och jag såg, och jag hörde rösten av många änglar runt tronen och varelserna och de äldste. Deras antal var tiotusen gånger tiotusen och tusen gånger tusen, 12 *1 Krön 29:11, Jes 53:7, Upp 4:11. och de sade med stark röst:

"Lammet som blev slaktat

är värdigt att ta emot

makten, rikedomen, visheten,

kraften, äran, härligheten

och lovsången!"

13 *Ps 148:1f, Fil 2:10, Upp 4:2. Och allt skapat i himlen och på jorden och under jorden och på havet och allt som finns i dem hörde jag säga:

"Honom som sitter på tronen,

honom och Lammet

tillhör lovsången och äran

och härligheten och makten

i evigheters evighet!"

14 *Upp 4:10. Och de fyra varelserna sade: "Amen." Och de äldste föll ner och tillbad.
