1 I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2 He seized the dragon, the old serpent, who is the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole inhabited earth,*20:2 TR and NU omit "who deceives the whole inhabited earth". and bound him for a thousand years, 3 and cast him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more until the thousand years were finished. After this, he must be freed for a short time.

4 I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and such as didn’t worship the beast nor his image, and didn’t receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead didn’t live until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over these, the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him one thousand years.

7 And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and he will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 They went up over the width of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven from God and devoured them. 10 The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

11 I saw a great white throne and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the sky fled away. There was found no place for them. 12 I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades*20:13 or, Hell gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Death and Hades*20:14 or, Hell were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.

Ei au înviat și au*Rom. 8:17.2 Tim. 2:12. Cap. 5:10. împărățit cu Hristos o mie de ani. 5 Ceilalți morți n-au înviat până nu s-au sfârșit cei o mie de ani. Aceasta este întâia înviere. 6 Fericiți și sfinți sunt cei ce au parte de întâia înviere! Asupra lor a doua moarte*Cap. 2:11;21:8. n-are nicio putere; ci vor fi preoți*Is. 61:6.1 Pet. 2:9. Cap. 1:6;5:10. ai lui Dumnezeu și ai lui Hristos și*Vers. 4. vor împărăți cu El o mie de ani. 7 Când se vor împlini cei o mie de ani, Satana*Vers. 2. va fi dezlegat 8 și va ieși din temnița lui ca să*Vers. 3,10. înșele neamurile care sunt în cele patru colțuri ale pământului, pe Gog*Ezec. 38:2;39:1. și pe Magog, ca să-i*Cap. 16:14. adune pentru război. Numărul lor va fi ca nisipul mării. 9 Și*Is. 8:8.Ezec. 38:9,16. ei s-au suit pe fața pământului și au înconjurat tabăra sfinților și cetatea preaiubită. Dar din cer s-a coborât un foc care i-a mistuit. 10 Și*Vers. 8. diavolul, care-i înșela, a fost aruncat în iazul de foc și de pucioasă, unde*Cap. 19:20. sunt fiara și prorocul mincinos. Și vor fi munciți*Cap. 14:10,11. zi și noapte în vecii vecilor. 11 Apoi am văzut un scaun de domnie mare și alb și pe Cel ce ședea pe el. Pământul și cerul au*2 Pet. 3:7,10,11. Cap. 21:1. fugit dinaintea Lui și*Dan. 2:35. nu s-a mai găsit loc pentru ele. 12 Și am văzut pe morți, mari*Cap. 19:5. și mici, stând în picioare înaintea scaunului de domnie. Niște*Dan. 7:10. cărți au fost deschise. Și a fost deschisă o altă*Ps. 69:28.Dan. 12:1.Filip. 4:3. Cap. 3:5; 13:8; 21:27. carte, care este cartea vieții. Și morții au fost judecați după*Ier. 17:10;32:19.Mat. 16:27.Rom. 2:6. Cap. 2:23. Vers. 13. Cap. 22:12. faptele lor, după cele ce erau scrise în cărțile acelea. 13 Marea a dat înapoi pe morții care erau în ea; Moartea*Cap. 6:9. și Locuința morților au dat înapoi pe morții care erau în ele. Fiecare a fost judecat după*Vers. 12. faptele lui. 14 Și Moartea*1 Cor. 15:26,54,55. și Locuința morților au fost aruncate în iazul de foc. Iazul*Vers. 6. Cap. 21:8. de foc este moartea a doua. 15 Oricine n-a fost găsit scris în cartea vieții a fost aruncat*Cap. 19:20. în iazul de foc.
