Matthew 9

1 He entered into a boat and crossed over, and came into his own city. 2 Behold, they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, cheer up! Your sins are forgiven you."

3 Behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man blasphemes."

4 Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts? 5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven;’ or to say, ‘Get up, and walk’? 6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins—" (then he said to the paralytic), "Get up, and take up your mat, and go to your house."

7 He arose and departed to his house. 8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.

9 As Jesus passed by from there, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax collection office. He said to him, "Follow me." He got up and followed him. 10 As he sat in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"

12 When Jesus heard it, he said to them, "Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do. 13 But you go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’✝9:13 Hosea 6:6 for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."*9:13 NU omits "to repentance".

14 Then John’s disciples came to him, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples don’t fast?"

15 Jesus said to them, "Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast. 16 No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch would tear away from the garment, and a worse hole is made. 17 Neither do people put new wine into old wineskins, or else the skins would burst, and the wine be spilled, and the skins ruined. No, they put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved."

18 While he told these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live."

19 Jesus got up and followed him, as did his disciples. 20 Behold, a woman who had a discharge of blood for twelve years came behind him, and touched the fringe*9:20 or, tassel of his garment; 21 for she said within herself, "If I just touch his garment, I will be made well."

22 But Jesus, turning around and seeing her, said, "Daughter, cheer up! Your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour.

23 When Jesus came into the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd in noisy disorder, 24 he said to them, "Make room, because the girl isn’t dead, but sleeping."

They were ridiculing him. 25 But when the crowd was sent out, he entered in, took her by the hand, and the girl arose. 26 The report of this went out into all that land.

27 As Jesus passed by from there, two blind men followed him, calling out and saying, "Have mercy on us, son of David!" 28 When he had come into the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?"

They told him, "Yes, Lord."

29 Then he touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith be it done to you." 30 Then their eyes were opened. Jesus strictly commanded them, saying, "See that no one knows about this." 31 But they went out and spread abroad his fame in all that land.

32 As they went out, behold, a mute man who was demon possessed was brought to him. 33 When the demon was cast out, the mute man spoke. The multitudes marveled, saying, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel!"

34 But the Pharisees said, "By the prince of the demons, he casts out demons."

35 Jesus went about all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them because they were harassed*9:36 TR reads "weary" instead of "harassed" and scattered, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest."

Vindecarea unui slăbănog

1 Isus S-a suit într-o corabie, a trecut marea și*Cap. 4:13. a venit în cetatea Sa. 2 Și*Marcu 2:3.Luca 5:18. iată că I-au adus un slăbănog, care zăcea într-un pat. Isus le-a văzut*Cap. 8:10. credința și a zis slăbănogului: „Îndrăznește, fiule! Păcatele îți sunt iertate!"3 Și iată că unii din cărturari au zis în ei înșiși: „Omul acesta hulește!" 4 Isus, care le cunoștea*Ps. 139:2. Cap. 12:25.Marcu 12:15.Luca 5:22;6:8;9:47;11:17. gândurile, a zis: „Pentru ce aveți gânduri rele în inimile voastre?5 Căci ce este mai lesne? A zice: ‘Iertate îți sunt păcatele’ sau a zice: ‘Scoală-te și umblă’?6 Dar, ca să știți că Fiul omului are putere pe pământ să ierte păcatele, scoală-te", a zis El slăbănogului, „ridică-ți patul și du-te acasă."7 Slăbănogul s-a sculat și s-a dus acasă. 8 Când au văzut noroadele lucrul acesta, s-au înspăimântat și au slăvit pe Dumnezeu, care a dat oamenilor o astfel de putere.

Chemarea lui Matei

9 De acolo, Isus a mers*Marcu 2:14.Luca 5:27. mai departe și a văzut pe un om, numit Matei, șezând la vamă. Și i-a zis: „Vino după Mine." Omul acela s-a sculat și a mers după El. 10 Pe*Marcu 2:15.Luca 5:29. când ședea Isus la masă, în casă, iată că au venit o mulțime de vameși și păcătoși și au șezut la masă cu El și cu ucenicii Lui. 11 Fariseii au văzut lucrul acesta și au zis ucenicilor Lui: „Pentru ce mănâncă Învățătorul vostru cu vameșii*Cap. 11:19.Luca 5:30;15:2. și cu păcătoșii*Gal. 2:15.?" 12 Isus i-a auzit și le-a zis: „Nu cei sănătoși au trebuință de doctor, ci cei bolnavi.13 Duceți-vă de învățați ce înseamnă: ‘Milă*Osea 6:6.Mica 6:6-8. Cap. 12:7.voiesc, iar nu jertfă!’ Căci n-am venit să chem la pocăință pe cei neprihăniți, ci*1 Tim. 1:15.pe cei păcătoși."

Întrebarea ucenicilor lui Ioan despre post

14 Atunci, ucenicii lui Ioan au venit la Isus și I-au zis: „De*Marcu 2:18.Luca 5:33. ce noi și fariseii postim des, iar ucenicii Tăi nu postesc deloc?" 15 Isus le-a răspuns: „Se pot jeli nuntașii*Ioan 3:29.câtă vreme este mirele cu ei? Vor veni zile când mirele va fi luat de la ei, și atunci*Fapte 13:2,3;14:23.1 Cor. 7:5.vor posti.16 Nimeni nu pune un petic de postav nou la o haină veche; pentru că și-ar lua umplutura din haină, și ruptura ar fi mai rea.17 Nici nu pun oamenii vin nou în burdufuri vechi; altfel, burdufurile plesnesc, vinul se varsă, și burdufurile se prăpădesc; ci vinul nou îl pun în burdufuri noi, și se păstrează amândouă."

Învierea fiicei lui Iair și vindecarea unei femei

18 Pe când*Marcu 5:22.Luca 8:41. le spunea Isus aceste vorbe, iată că a venit unul din fruntașii sinagogii, I s-a închinat și I-a zis: „Fiica mea adineauri a murit, dar vino de pune-Ți mâinile peste ea, și va învia." 19 Isus S-a sculat și a plecat după el, împreună cu ucenicii Lui. 20 Și*Marcu 5:25.Luca 8:43. iată că o femeie, care de doisprezece ani avea o scurgere de sânge, a venit pe dinapoi și s-a atins de poala hainei Lui. 21 Căci își zicea ea: „Numai să mă pot atinge de haina Lui, și mă voi tămădui." 22 Isus S-a întors, a văzut-o și i-a zis: „Îndrăznește, fiică! Credința*Luca 7:50;8:48;17:19;18:42.ta te-a tămăduit." Și s-a tămăduit femeia chiar în ceasul acela. 23 Când*Marcu 5:38.Luca 8:51. a ajuns Isus în casa fruntașului sinagogii*2 Cron. 35:25. și când a văzut pe cei ce cântau din fluier și gloata bocind, 24 le-a zis: „Dați-vă la o parte*Fapte 20:10., căci fetița n-a murit, ci doarme!" Ei își băteau joc de El. 25 Dar, după ce a fost scoasă gloata, Isus a intrat înăuntru, a luat pe fetiță de mână, și fetița s-a sculat. 26 Și s-a dus vestea despre această minune în tot ținutul acela.

Vindecarea a doi orbi

27 Când a plecat de acolo, s-au luat după Isus doi orbi, care strigau și ziceau: „Ai milă de noi, Fiul*Cap. 15:22;20:30,31.Marcu 10:47,48.Luca 18:38,39. lui David!" 28 După ce a intrat în casă, orbii au venit la El. Și Isus le-a zis: „Credeți că pot face lucrul acesta?" „Da, Doamne", I-au răspuns ei. 29 Atunci S-a atins de ochii lor și a zis: „Facă-vi-se după credința voastră!"30 Și li s-au deschis ochii. Isus le-a poruncit cu tot dinadinsul și le-a zis: „Vedeți*Cap. 8:4;12:16;17:9.Luca 5:14.să nu știe nimeni."31 Dar*Marcu 7:36. ei, cum au ieșit, au răspândit vestea despre El în tot ținutul acela.

Vindecarea unui mut îndrăcit

32 Pe*Cap. 12:22.Luca 11:14. când plecau orbii aceștia, iată că au adus la Isus un mut îndrăcit. 33 După ce a fost scos dracul din el, mutul a vorbit. Și noroadele, mirate, ziceau: „Niciodată nu s-a văzut așa ceva în Israel!" 34 Dar fariseii ziceau: „Cu ajutorul domnului dracilor scoate El*Cap. 12:24.Marcu 3:22.Luca 11:15. dracii!"

Lui Isus Îi este milă de gloate

35 Isus străbătea*Marcu 6:6.Luca 13:22. toate cetățile și satele, învățând*Cap. 4:23. pe norod în sinagogi, propovăduind Evanghelia Împărăției și vindecând orice fel de boală și orice fel de neputință care era în norod. 36 Când*Marcu 6:34. a văzut gloatele, I s-a făcut milă de ele, pentru că erau necăjite și risipite, ca*Num. 27:17.1 Împ. 22:17.Ezec. 34:5.Zah. 10:2. niște oi care n-au păstor. 37 Atunci a zis ucenicilor Săi: „Mare este secerișul*Luca 10:2.Ioan 4:35., dar puțini sunt lucrătorii!38 Rugați dar*2 Tes. 3:1.pe Domnul secerișului să scoată lucrători la secerișul Lui."
