1 The LORD’s word came to me, saying, 2 "Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them. 3 Tell the children of Ammon, ‘Hear the word of the Lord GOD! The Lord GOD says, "Because you said, ‘Aha!’ against my sanctuary, when it was profaned, and against Eretz-Israel, when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity: 4 therefore, behold, I will deliver you to the children of the east for a possession. They will set their encampments in you, and make their dwellings in you. They will eat your fruit and they will drink your milk. 5 I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the children of Ammon a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am the LORD." 6 For the Lord GOD says: "Because you have clapped your hands, stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the contempt of your soul against Eretz-Israel, 7 therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand on you, and will deliver you for a plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish out of the countries. I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am the LORD."

8 "‘The Lord GOD says: "Because Moab and Seir say, ‘Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations;’ 9 therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and Kiriathaim, 10 to the children of the east, to go against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations. 11 I will execute judgments on Moab. Then they will know that I am the LORD."

12 "‘The Lord GOD says: "Because Edom has dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and taken revenge on them;" 13 therefore the Lord GOD says, "I will stretch out my hand on Edom, and will cut off man and animal from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman. They will fall by the sword even to Dedan. 14 I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel. They will do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath. Then they will know my vengeance," says the Lord GOD.

15 "‘The Lord GOD says: "Because the Philistines have taken revenge, and have taken vengeance with contempt of soul to destroy with perpetual hostility;" 16 therefore the Lord GOD says, "Behold, I will stretch out my hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast. 17 I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I lay my vengeance on them."’"

1 A palavra do Senhor veio até mim novamente:

2 Homem mortal, vira-te na direcção da terra de Amom e proetiza assim contra eles:

3 Visto que vocês se riram quando o meu templo foi destruído e se divertiram quando Israel foi angustiado e Judá levado em cativeiro, por isso permitirei que os beduínos do deserto a oriente vos ocupem a terra. Levantarão acampamentos entre vocês. Ceifarão todas as vossas sementeiras e ficarão com o gado todo. Farei com que a cidade de Rabá se torne um pasto para os camelos deles, e todo o país dos amonitas numa terra nua onde apenas pastem rebanhos de carneiros. Então dar-se-ão conta de que eu sou o Senhor.

6 Porque, assim diz o Senhor Deus: Visto que aplaudiram e festejaram com barulho e com vivas a destruição do meu povo, assim também deixarei cair pesadamente a minha mão sobre vocês, entregando-vos a muitos outros povos para que vos destruam. Farei com que desapareçam e deixem de ser mais uma nação, para sempre. Liquidar-vos-ei; e então hão-de saber que eu sou o Senhor.

8 Diz o Senhor Deus: devido ao facto dos moabitas terem dito que Judá não vale mais do que qualquer outra nação, por isso abrirei o flanco oriental de Moabe e farei açoitar todas aquelas povoações fronteiriças que são o orgulho da nação - Bete-Jesimote, Baal-Meom e até Quiriataim. E as tribos beduínas, do lado oriental do deserto, cairão sobre elas, tal como fizeram em Amom. Também Moabe deixará de ser contada entre as nações.

11 É assim que executarei o meu julgamento sobre os moabitas; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.

12 Diz o Senhor Deus: Como o povo de Edom pecou enormemente, vingando-se a si próprio do povo de Judá, esmagarei Edom com o meu punho fechado e açoitarei tanto o povo como o gado e rebanhos. A espada tudo destruirá, desde Temã até Dedã. E isto será feito pela mão do meu povo, Israel. Serão eles que executarão o meu castigo.

15 Diz o Senhor Deus: Visto que os filisteus actuaram contra Judá, vingando-se raivosamente por si próprios, e com um ódio desmedido, levantarei o meu punho ameaçador contra a terra dos filisteus e castigarei duramente os quereteus e destruirei completamente todos os que estão estabelecidos ao longo da costa marítima. Executarei tremendas sentenças sobre eles, para os repreender por terem feito o que fizeram. E quando tudo isso acontecer, hão-de ver que eu sou o Senhor.
