1 No ano vinte e cinco do nosso cativeiro, no princípio do ano, no décimo dia do mês, catorze anos depois que a cidade foi conquistada, naquele mesmo dia veio sobre mim a mão do Senhor, e me levou para lá.2 Em visões de Deus me levou à terra de Israel, e me pôs sobre um monte muito alto, sobre o qual havia como que um edifício de cidade para o lado sul.3 E, havendo-me levado ali, eis que um homem cuja aparência era como a do bronze, tendo um cordel de linho na sua mão e uma cana de medir, e estava em pé na porta.4 E disse-me o homem: Filho do homem, vê com os teus olhos, e ouve com os teus ouvidos, e põe no teu coração tudo quanto eu te fizer ver; porque para to mostrar foste tu aqui trazido; anuncia, pois, à casa de Israel tudo quanto vires.5 E havia um muro fora da casa, em seu redor, e na mão do homem uma cana de medir, de seis côvados, cada um dos quais tinha um côvado e um palmo; e ele mediu a largura do edifício, uma cana, e a altura, uma cana.6 Então veio à porta que olhava para o caminho do oriente, e subiu pelos seus degraus; mediu o umbral da porta, uma cana de largo, e o outro umbral, uma cana de largo.7 E cada câmara tinha uma cana de comprido, e uma cana de largo, e o espaço entre os aposentos era de cinco côvados; e o umbral da porta, ao pé do vestíbulo da porta, por dentro, era de uma cana.8 Também mediu o vestíbulo da porta, por dentro, uma cana.9 Então mediu o vestíbulo da porta, que tinha oito côvados, e os seus pilares, dois côvados, e este vestíbulo da porta, estava por dentro.10 As câmaras da porta para o lado do oriente eram três de um lado e três do outro; a mesma medida era a dos três; também os pilares de um lado e do outro tinham a mesma medida.11 Mediu mais a largura da entrada da porta, que era de dez côvados; e o comprimento da porta, treze côvados.12 E o espaço em frente das câmaras era de um côvado, e de um côvado o espaço do outro lado; e cada câmara tinha seis côvados de um lado e seis côvados do outro.13 Então mediu a porta desde o telhado de uma câmara até ao telhado da outra, vinte e cinco côvados de largo, porta contra porta.14 Fez também os pilares, de sessenta côvados, cada pilar, do átrio, em redor da porta.15 E, desde a face da porta da entrada até à face do vestíbulo da porta interior, havia cinquenta côvados.16 Havia também janelas estreitas nas câmaras, e nos seus pilares, dentro da porta ao redor, e da mesma sorte nos vestíbulos; e as janelas estavam ao redor, na parte de dentro, e nos pilares havia palmeiras.17 E ele me levou ao átrio exterior, e eis que havia nele câmaras, e um pavimento que estava feito no átrio em redor; trinta câmaras havia naquele pavimento.18 E o pavimento do lado das portas era proporcional ao comprimento das portas; o pavimento estava mais baixo.19 E mediu a largura desde a dianteira da porta inferior até a dianteira do átrio interior, por fora, cem côvados, do lado do oriente e do norte.20 E, quanto à porta que olhava para o caminho do norte, no átrio exterior, ele mediu o seu comprimento e a sua largura.21 E as suas câmaras eram três de um lado, e três do outro, e os seus pilares e os seus arcos eram da medida da primeira porta: cinquenta côvados era o seu comprimento, e a largura vinte e cinco côvados.22 E as suas janelas, e os seus arcos, e as suas palmeiras, eram da medida da porta que olhava para o caminho do oriente; e subia-se para ela por sete degraus, e os seus arcos estavam diante dela.23 E a porta do átrio interior estava defronte da porta do norte bem como da do oriente; e mediu de porta a porta cem côvados.24 Então ele me levou ao caminho do sul, e eis que havia ali uma porta que olhava para o caminho do sul, e mediu os seus pilares e os seus arcos conforme estas medidas.25 E havia também janelas em redor dos seus arcos, como as outras janelas; cinquenta côvados era o comprimento, e a largura vinte e cinco côvados.26 E de sete degraus eram as suas subidas, e os seus arcos estavam diante delas; e tinha palmeiras, uma de um lado e outra do outro, nos seus pilares.27 Também havia uma porta no átrio interior para o caminho do sul; e mediu de porta a porta, para o caminho do sul, cem côvados.28 Então me levou ao átrio interior pela porta do sul; e mediu a porta do sul, conforme estas medidas.29 E as suas câmaras, e os seus pilares, e os seus arcos eram conforme estas medidas; e tinham também janelas ao redor dos seus arcos; o comprimento era de cinquenta côvados, e a largura de vinte e cinco côvados.30 E havia arcos em redor; o comprimento era de vinte e cinco côvados, e a largura de cinco côvados.31 E os seus arcos estavam na direção do átrio exterior, e havia palmeiras nos seus pilares; e de oito degraus eram as suas subidas.32 Depois me levou ao átrio interior, para o caminho do oriente, e mediu a porta conforme estas medidas;33 E também as suas câmaras, e os seus pilares, e os seus arcos, conforme estas medidas; e havia também janelas em redor dos seus arcos; o comprimento de cinquenta côvados, e a largura de vinte e cinco côvados.34 E os seus arcos estavam no átrio de fora; também havia palmeiras nos seus pilares de um e de outro lado; e eram as suas subidas de oito degraus.35 Então me levou à porta do norte, e mediu conforme estas medidas;36 As suas câmaras, os seus pilares, e os seus arcos; também tinha janelas em redor; o comprimento era de cinquenta côvados, e a largura de vinte e cinco côvados.37 E os seus pilares estavam no átrio exterior; também havia palmeiras nos seus pilares de um e de outro lado; e eram as suas subidas de oito degraus.38 E as suas câmaras e as suas entradas estavam junto aos pilares das portas onde lavavam o holocausto.39 E no vestíbulo da porta havia duas mesas de um lado, e duas mesas do outro, para nelas se matar o holocausto e a oferta pelo pecado e pela culpa.40 Também do lado de fora da subida para a entrada da porta do norte havia duas mesas; e do outro lado, que estava no vestíbulo da porta, havia duas mesas.41 Quatro mesas de um lado, e quatro mesas do outro; aos lados da porta oito mesas, sobre as quais imolavam.42 E as quatro mesas para o holocausto eram de pedras lavradas; o comprimento era de um côvado e meio, e a largura de um côvado e meio, e a altura de um côvado; e sobre elas se punham os instrumentos com que imolavam o holocausto e o sacrifício.43 E os ganchos de um palmo de comprimento, estavam fixos por dentro em redor, e sobre as mesas estava a carne da oferta.44 E fora da porta interior estavam as câmaras dos cantores, no átrio de dentro, que estava ao lado da porta do norte e olhava para o caminho do sul; uma estava ao lado da porta do oriente, e olhava para o caminho do norte.45 E ele me disse: Esta câmara que olha para o caminho do sul é para os sacerdotes que têm a guarda da casa.46 Mas a câmara que olha para o caminho do norte é para os sacerdotes que têm a guarda do altar; são estes os filhos de Zadoque, que se chegam ao Senhor, dentre os filhos de Levi, para o servir.47 E mediu o átrio; o comprimento de cem côvados e a largura de cem côvados, um quadrado; e o altar estava diante da casa.48 Então me levou ao vestíbulo da casa, e mediu a cada pilar do vestíbulo, cinco côvados de um lado, e cinco côvados do outro; e a largura da porta, três côvados de um lado, e três côvados do outro.49 O comprimento do vestíbulo era de vinte côvados, e a largura de onze côvados, e era por degraus, que se subia a ele; e havia colunas junto aos pilares, uma de um lado e outra do outro.

1 In the five and twentieth year of our exile, in the beginning of the year, on the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after the city had been smitten, on the selfsame day came the inspiration of the Lord upon me, and brought me thither.2 In the visions of God brought he me unto the land of Israel, and set me down upon a very high mount, on which there was built something like a city on the south.3 And when he had brought me thither, behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of copper, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring–rod: and he was standing in the gate.4 And the man spoke unto me, Son of man, behold with thy eyes, and hear with thy ears, and direct thy heart unto all that I am about to show thee; for in order to show it unto thee art thou brought hither: tell all that thou seest to the house of Israel.5 And behold there was a wall on the outside of the house all round about, and in the man’s hand was a measuring–rod of six cubits long by the cubit which was a hand’s breadth longer than usual; and he measured the breadth of the building, one rod, and the height, one rod.6 Then came he unto the gate which looked in the direction toward the east, and went up its steps, and measured the threshold of the gate, one rod in breadth, and the other threshold one rod in breadth.7 And every cell was one rod long, and one rod broad; and between the cells were five cubits: and the threshold of the gate near by the porch of the gate within was one rod.8 He measured also the porch of the gate within, one rod.9 Then measured he the porch of the gate, eight cubits, and its door–posts, two cubits: and the porch of the gate was inward.10 And the cells of the gate in the eastern direction were three on this side, and three on that side, one measure was for all the three; and there was one measure for the door–posts on this side and on that side.11 And he measured the breadth of the entrance of the gate, ten cubits, and the length of the gate, thirteen cubits.12 And there was a space before the cells of one cubit on this side, and one cubit space was there on that side: and every cell was of six cubits on this side, and of six cubits on that side.13 And he measured the gate from the roof of one cell to the roof of another, in breadth five and twenty cubits, one door being against the other door.14 And he made door–posts of sixty cubits, and around the door–posts the court and the gate all round about.15 And the height of the gate of the entrance as also the height of the porch of the inner gate was fifty cubits.16 And there were narrow windows in the cells, and by their door–posts within the gate all round about, and likewise in the porches: and windows were all round about inward; and on each door post were palm–shaped capitals.17 Then brought he me into the outward court, and, lo, there were chambers, and a pavement made for the court all round about: thirty chambers were upon the pavement.18 And the pavement by the side of the gates was all along the whole length of the gates: this was the lower pavement.19 Then measured he the breadth from the front of the lower gate unto the front of the inner court, without, one hundred cubits, eastward and northward.20 And the gate of the outer court that looked in a northern direction, he measured after its length, and its breadth.21 And its cells were three on this side and three on that side; and its door–posts and its porches were after the measure of the first gate: fifty cubits was its length, and its breadth five and twenty cubits.22 And its windows, and its porches, and their palm–shaped capitals, were after the measure of the gate that looked in an eastern direction: and by seven steps did they go up unto it, and to its porches which were before them.23 And the gates of the inner court were opposite the gates on the north, and on the east: and he measured from gate to gate one hundred cubits.24 After that he led me forth to the south side, and behold there was a gate on the south side: and he measured its door–posts and its porches after these measures.25 And there were windows in it and in its porches all round about, like the other windows: it was fifty cubits in length, and in breadth five and twenty cubits.26 And by seven steps was the ascent to it, and to its porches which were before them; and it had palm–shaped capitals, one on this side, and another on that side, upon its door–posts.27 And there was a gate in the inner court on the south side: and he measured from gate to gate on the south side one hundred cubits.28 And he brought me to the inner court by the south gate; and he measured the south gate after these measures;29 And its cells, and its door–posts, and its porches were after these measures; and there were windows in it and in its porches all round about: it was fifty cubits in length, and in breadth five and twenty cubits.30 And arched passages were all round about, five and twenty cubits long, and five cubits broad.31 And its porches were toward the outer court; and palm–shaped capitals were upon its door–posts: and its ascent was by eight steps.32 And he brought me into the inner court on the east side; and he measured the gate after these measures;33 And its cells and its door–posts, and its porches, were according to these measures; and there were windows in it and in its porches all round about: its length was fifty cubits, and its breadth five and twenty cubits.34 And its porches were toward the outward court; and palm–shaped capitals were upon its door–posts, on this side, and on that side: and by eight steps was the ascent to it.35 And he brought me to the north gate, and he measured it after these measures;36 Its cells, its door–posts, and its porches; and the windows in it were all round about: its length was fifty cubits, and its breadth five and twenty cubits.37 And its door–posts were toward the outer court; and palm–shaped capitals were upon its door–posts, on this side, and on that side: and by eight steps was the ascent to it.38 And there was a chamber with its door by the door–posts of the gates, where they washed off the burnt–offerings.39 And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slaughter thereon the burnt–offerings and the sin–offerings and the trespass–offerings.40 And at the side without the porch, as one went up to the entrance of the north gate, were two tables; and on the other side of the porch of the gate were two tables;41 Four tables being on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate, eight tables, whereupon they slaughtered the sacrifices.42 And there were four tables of hewn stone for the burnt–offerings, of a cubit and a half long, and a cubit and a half broad, and one cubit high: whereupon they laid the instruments wherewith they slaughtered the burnt–offerings and the sacrifices.43 And hooks, a hand long, were fastened within all round about: and on the tables was placed the flesh of the offerings.44 And without the inner gate were the chambers of the singers in the inner court, which was at the side of the north gate; and their front was toward the south side: one was at the side of the east gate having the front toward the north side.45 And he spoke unto me, This chamber, the front of which is toward the south, is for the priests who have the charge of the house.46 And the chamber, the front of which is toward the north, is for the priests who have the charge of the altar: these are the sons of Zadok, who come near, from among the sons of Levi, to the Lord to minister unto him.47 So he measured the court, in length one hundred cubits, and in breadth one hundred cubits, foursquare: and the altar stood before the house.48 And he brought me to the porch of the house, and measured each door–post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side: and the breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.49 The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits, together with the steps whereby they went up to it: and there were pillars by the door–posts, one on this side, and another on that side.
