But seeing the crowds, he went up into the mountain, and having sat down, his disciples came to him; 
and, having opened his mouth, he taught them, saying, 
Blessed {are} the poor in spirit, for *theirs* is the kingdom of the heavens. 
Blessed they that mourn, for *they* shall be comforted. 
Blessed the meek, for *they* shall inherit the earth. 
Blessed they who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for *they* shall be filled. 
Blessed the merciful, for *they* shall find mercy. 
Blessed the pure in heart, for *they* shall see God. 
Blessed the peace-makers, for *they* shall be called sons of God. 
Blessed they who are persecuted on account of righteousness, for *theirs* is the kingdom of the heavens. 
Blessed are ye when they may reproach and persecute you, and say every wicked thing against you, lying, for my sake. 
Rejoice and exult, for your reward is great in the heavens; for thus have they persecuted the prophets who were before you. 
*Ye* are the salt of the earth; but if the salt have become insipid, wherewith shall it be salted? It is no longer fit for anything but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot by men. 
*Ye* are the light of the world: a city situated on the top of a mountain cannot be hid. 
Nor do {men} light a lamp and put it under the bushel, but upon the lamp-stand, and it shines for all who are in the house. 
Let your light thus shine before men, so that they may see your upright works, and glorify your Father who is in the heavens. 
Think not that I am come to make void the law or the prophets; I am not come to make void, but to fulfil. 
For verily I say unto you, Until the heaven and the earth pass away, one iota or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law till all come to pass. 
Whosoever then shall do away with one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of the heavens; but whosoever shall practise and teach {them}, *he* shall be called great in the kingdom of the heavens. 
For I say unto you, that unless your righteousness surpass {that} of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of the heavens. 
Ye have heard that it was said to the ancients, Thou shalt not kill; but whosoever shall kill shall be subject to the judgment. 
But *I* say unto you, that every one that is lightly angry with his brother shall be subject to the judgment; but whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be subject to {be called before} the sanhedrim; but whosoever shall say, Fool, shall be subject to the penalty of the hell of fire. 
If therefore thou shouldest offer thy gift at the altar, and there shouldest remember that thy brother has something against thee, 
leave there thy gift before the altar, and first go, be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. 
Make friends with thine adverse party quickly, whilst thou art in the way with him; lest some time the adverse party deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. 
Verily I say to thee, Thou shalt in no wise come out thence till thou hast paid the last farthing. 
Ye have heard that it has been said, Thou shalt not commit adultery. 
But *I* say unto you, that every one who looks upon a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 
But if thy right eye be a snare to thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell. 
And if thy right hand be a snare to thee, cut it off and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members perish, and not thy whole body be cast into hell. 
It has been said too, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a letter of divorce. 
But *I* say unto you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, except for cause of fornication, makes her commit adultery, and whosoever marries one that is put away commits adultery. 
Again, ye have heard that it has been said to the ancients, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt render to the Lord what thou hast sworn. 
But *I* say unto you, Do not swear at all; neither by the heaven, because it is {the} throne of God; 
nor by the earth, because it is {the} footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, because it is {the} city of the great King. 
Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. 
But let your word be Yea, yea; Nay, nay; but what is more than these is from evil. 
Ye have heard that it has been said, Eye for eye and tooth for tooth. 
But *I* say unto you, not to resist evil; but whoever shall strike thee on thy right cheek, turn to him also the other; 
and to him that would go to law with thee and take thy body coat, leave him thy cloak also. 
And whoever will compel thee to go one mile, go with him two. 
To him that asks of thee give, and from him that desires to borrow of thee turn not away. 
Ye have heard that it has been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour and hate thine enemy. 
But *I* say unto you, Love your enemies, {bless those who curse you,} do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who {insult you and} persecute you, 
that ye may be {the} sons of your Father who is in {the} heavens; for he makes his sun rise on evil and good, and sends rain on just and unjust. 
For if ye should love those who love you, what reward have ye? Do not also the tax-gatherers the same? 
And if ye should salute your brethren only, what do ye extraordinary? Do not also the Gentiles the same? 
Be *ye* therefore perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect. 

耶稣看见群众， 就上了山； 他坐下之后， 门徒来到他跟前， 
他就开口教训他们： 
"心灵贫乏的人有福了， 因为天国是他们的。 
哀痛的人有福了， 因为他们必得安慰。 
温柔的人有福了， 因为他们必承受地土。 
爱慕公义如饥如渴的人有福了， 因为他们必得饱足。 
怜悯人的人有福了， 因为他们必蒙怜悯。 
内心清洁的人有福了， 因为他们必看见 神。 
使人和平的人有福了， 因为他们必称为 神的儿子。 
为义遭受迫害的人有福了， 因为天国是他们的。 
人若因我的缘故辱骂你们， 迫害你们， 并且捏造各样坏话毁谤你们， 你们就有福了。 
你们应该欢喜快乐， 因为你们在天上的赏赐是大的； 在你们以前的先知， 他们也曾这样迫害。 
"你们是地上的盐； 如果盐失了味， 怎能使它再咸呢？结果毫无用处， 唯有丢在外面任人践踏。 
你们是世上的光。建在山上的城是无法隐藏的； 
人点了灯， 不会放在量器底下， 而是放在灯台上， 就照亮一家人。 
照样， 你们的光也应当照在人前， 让他们看见你们的好行为， 又颂赞你们在天上的父。 
"你们不要以为我来是要废除律法和先知； 我来不是要废除， 而是要完成。 
我实在告诉你们， 就算天地过去， 律法的一点一画也不会废去， 全部都要成就。 
因此， 无论谁废除诫命中最小的一条， 又这样教导人， 他在天国中必称为最小的； 但若有人遵行这些诫命， 并且教导人遵行， 他在天国中必称为大。 
我告诉你们， 你们的义若不胜过经学家和法利赛人的义， 就必不能进天国。 
"你们听过有这样吩咐古人的话： ‘不可杀人， 杀人的必被判罪。’ 
可是我告诉你们， 凡是向弟兄发怒的， 必被判罪。人若说弟兄是‘拉加’， 必被公议会审判； 人若说弟兄是‘摩利’， 必难逃地狱的火。 
所以你在祭坛上献供物的时候， 如果在那里想起你的弟兄对你不满， 
就当在坛前放下供物， 先去与弟兄和好， 然后才来献你的供物。 
趁着你和你的对头还在路上的时候， 要赶快与他和解， 免得他抓你去见法官， 法官把你交给狱警， 关在监里。 
我实在告诉你， 除非你还清最后一分钱， 否则决不能从那里出来。 
"你们听过有这样的吩咐： ‘不可奸淫。’ 
可是我告诉你们， 凡是看见妇女就动淫念的， 心里已经犯了奸淫。 
如果你的右眼使你犯罪， 就把它挖出来丢掉； 宁可失去身体的一部分， 胜过全身被丢进地狱里。 
如果你的右手使你犯罪， 就把它砍下来丢掉； 宁可失去身体的一部分， 胜过全身进到地狱里去。 
"又有这样的吩咐： ‘人若休妻， 就应当给她休书。’ 
可是我告诉你们， 凡休妻的， 如果不是因她不贞， 就是促使她犯奸淫； 无论谁娶了被休的妇人， 也就是犯奸淫了。 
"你们又听过有这样吩咐古人的话： ‘不可背约， 向主许的愿都要偿还。’ 
可是我告诉你们， 总不可发誓， 不可指着天发誓， 因为天是 神的宝座； 
不可指着地发誓， 因为地是 神的脚凳； 不可指着耶路撒冷发誓， 因为它是大君王的京城； 
也不可指着自己的头发誓， 因为你不能使一根头发变白或变黑。 
你们的话， 是就说‘是’， 不是就说‘不是’； 如果再多说， 就是出于那恶者。 
"你们听过有这样的吩咐： ‘以眼还眼， 以牙还牙。’ 
可是我告诉你们， 不要与恶人对抗， 有人打你的右脸， 把另一边也转过来让他打； 
有人要告你， 想拿你的衬衫， 就连外套也让他拿去。 
有人要强迫你走一里路， 就陪他走两里。 
有求你的， 就给他； 想借贷的， 也不可拒绝。 
"你们听过有这样的吩咐： ‘当爱你的邻舍， 恨你的仇敌。’ 
可是我告诉你们， 当爱你们的仇敌， 为迫害你们的祈祷， 
好叫你们成为你们天父的儿子； 因为他使太阳照恶人， 也照好人； 降雨给义人， 也给不义的人。 
如果你们只爱那些爱你们的人， 有什么赏赐呢？税吏不也是这样作吗？ 
如果你们单问候你们的弟兄， 有什么特别呢？教外人不也是这样作吗？ 
所以你们要完全， 正如你们的天父是完全的。"
