1 Therefore, having this ministry, as we have had mercy shewn us, we faint not. 2 But we have rejected the hidden things of shame, not walking in deceit, nor falsifying the word of God, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every conscience of men before God. 3 But if also our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in those that are lost; 4 in whom the god of this world has blinded the thoughts of the unbelieving, so that the radiancy of the glad tidings of the glory of the Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine forth for them. 5 For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus Lord, and ourselves your bondmen for Jesus' sake. 6 Because it is the God who spoke that out of darkness light should shine who has shone in our hearts for the shining forth of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassingness of the power may be of God, and not from us:

8 every way afflicted, but not straitened; seeing no apparent issue, but our way not entirely shut up; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; cast down, but not destroyed; 10 always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body; 11 for we who live are always delivered unto death on account of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh; 12 so that death works in us, but life in you. 13 And having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I have believed, therefore have I spoken; we also believe, therefore also we speak; 14 knowing that he who has raised the Lord Jesus shall raise us also with Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the grace abounding through the many may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. 16 Wherefore we faint not; but if indeed our outward man is consumed, yet the inward is renewed day by day. 17 For our momentary and light affliction works for us in surpassing measure an eternal weight of glory; 18 while we look not at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen; for the things that are seen are for a time, but those that are not seen eternal.

Cap. 3:14. veacului acestuia, ca să nu vadă strălucind lumina*Cap. 3:8,9,11,18. Vers. 6. Evangheliei slavei lui Hristos, care*Ioan 1:18;12:45;14:9.Filip. 2:6.Col. 1:15.Evr. 1:3. este chipul lui Dumnezeu. 5 Căci*1 Cor. 1:13,23;10:33. noi nu ne propovăduim pe noi înșine, ci pe Domnul Hristos Isus. Noi*1 Cor. 9:19. Cap. 1:24. suntem robii voștri, pentru Isus. 6 Căci Dumnezeu, care*Gen. 1:3. a zis: „Să lumineze lumina din întuneric", ne-a*2 Pet. 1:19. luminat inimile, pentru ca să facem*Vers. 4.1 Pet. 2:9. să strălucească lumina cunoștinței slavei lui Dumnezeu pe fața lui Isus Hristos.

7 Comoara aceasta o purtăm în niște vase*Cap. 5:1. de lut, pentru ca*1 Cor. 2:3. Cap. 12:9. această putere nemaipomenită să fie de la Dumnezeu, și nu de la noi. 8 Suntem încolțiți*Cap. 7:5. în toate chipurile, dar nu la strâmtoare; în grea cumpănă, dar nu deznădăjduiți; 9 prigoniți, dar nu părăsiți; trântiți jos*Ps. 37:24., dar nu omorâți. 10 Purtăm întotdeauna*1 Cor. 15:31. Cap. 1:5,9.Gal. 6:17.Filip. 3:10. cu noi, în trupul nostru, omorârea Domnului Isus, pentru ca*Rom. 8:17.2 Tim. 2:11,12.1 Pet. 4:13. și viața lui Isus să se arate în trupul nostru. 11 Căci noi cei vii totdeauna*Ps. 44:22.Rom. 8:36.1 Cor. 15:31,49. suntem dați la moarte din pricina lui Isus, pentru ca și viața lui Isus să se arate în trupul nostru muritor. 12 Astfel că în noi lucrează moartea*Cap. 13:9., iar în voi, viața. 13 Însă fiindcă avem același*Rom. 1:12.2 Pet. 1:1. duh de credință, potrivit cu ceea ce este scris: „Am crezut*Ps. 116:10., de aceea am vorbit!" și noi credem, și de aceea vorbim. 14 Și știm că Cel*Rom. 8:11.1 Cor. 6:14. ce a înviat pe Domnul Isus ne va învia și pe noi împreună cu Isus și ne va face să ne înfățișăm împreună cu voi. 15 Căci toate*1 Cor. 3:21. Cap. 1:6.Col. 1:24.2 Tim. 2:10. aceste lucruri se petrec în folosul vostru, pentru ca harul*Cap. 1:11;8:19;9:11,12. mare, căpătat prin mulți, să facă să sporească mulțumirile spre slava lui Dumnezeu.

16 De aceea, noi nu cădem de oboseală. Ci chiar dacă omul nostru de afară se trece, totuși omul nostru dinăuntru*Rom. 7:22.Efes. 3:16.Col. 3:10.1 Pet. 3:4. se înnoiește din zi în zi. 17 Căci întristările noastre ușoare*Mat. 5:12.Rom. 8:18.1 Pet. 1:6;5:10. de o clipă lucrează pentru noi tot mai mult o greutate veșnică de slavă. 18 Pentru că noi nu ne uităm*Rom. 8:24. Cap. 5:7.Evr. 11:1. la lucrurile care se văd, ci la cele ce nu se văd, căci lucrurile care se văd sunt trecătoare, pe când cele ce nu se văd sunt veșnice.
