1 Verily, verily, I say to you, He that enters not in by the door to the fold of the sheep, but mounts up elsewhere, he is a thief and a robber; 2 but he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. 4 When he has put forth all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice. 5 But they will not follow a stranger, but will flee from him, because they know not the voice of strangers. 6 This allegory spoke Jesus to them, but they did not know what it was of which he spoke to them. 7 Jesus therefore said again to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All whoever came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the door: if any one enter in by me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and shall go out and shall find pasture. 10 The thief comes not but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I am come that they might have life, and might have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep: 12 but he who serves for wages, and who is not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf seizes them and scatters the sheep. 13 Now he who serves for wages flees because he serves for wages, and is not himself concerned about the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know those that are mine, and am known of those that are mine, 15 as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And I have other sheep which are not of this fold: those also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one flock, one shepherd. 17 On this account the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have authority to lay it down and I have authority to take it again. I have received this commandment of my Father.

19 There was a division again among the Jews on account of these words; 20 but many of them said, He has a demon and raves; why do ye hear him? 21 Others said, These sayings are not those of one that is possessed by a demon. Can a demon open blind people’s eyes?

22 Now the feast of the dedication was celebrating at Jerusalem, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple in the porch of Solomon. 24 The Jews therefore surrounded him, and said to him, Until when dost thou hold our soul in suspense? If thou art the Christ, say so to us openly. 25 Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye do not believe. The works which I do in my Father’s name, these bear witness concerning me: 26 but ye do not believe, for ye are not of my sheep, as I told you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; 28 and I give them life eternal; and they shall never perish, and no one shall seize them out of my hand. 29 My Father who has given them to me is greater than all, and no one can seize out of the hand of my Father. 30 I and the Father are one. 31 The Jews therefore again took stones that they might stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewn you of my Father; for which work of them do ye stone me? 33 The Jews answered him, For a good work we stone thee not, but for blasphemy, and because thou, being a man, makest thyself God. 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came (and the scripture cannot be broken), 36 do ye say of him whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest, because I said, I am Son of God? 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not; 38 but if I do, even if ye believe not me, believe the works, that ye may know and believe that the Father is in me and I in him.

39 They sought therefore again to take him; and he went away from out of their hand 40 and departed again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was baptising at the first: and he abode there. 41 And many came to him, and said, John did no sign; but all things which John said of this man were true. 42 And many believed on him there.

1 Adevărat, adevărat vă spun că cine nu intră pe ușă în staulul oilor, ci sare pe altă parte, este un hoț și un tâlhar.2 Dar cine intră pe ușă este păstorul oilor.3 Portarul îi deschide și oile aud glasul lui; el își cheamă oile pe nume și le scoate din staul.4 După ce și-a scos toate oile, merge înaintea lor; și oile merg după el, pentru că îi cunosc glasul.5 Nu merg deloc după un străin, ci fug de el, pentru că nu cunosc glasul străinilor."6 Isus le-a spus această pildă, dar ei n-au înțeles despre ce le vorbea.

7 Isus le-a mai zis: „Adevărat, adevărat vă spun că Eu sunt Ușa oilor.8 Toți cei ce au venit înainte de Mine sunt hoți și tâlhari, dar oile n-au ascultat de ei.9 Eu*Cap. 14:6.Efes. 2:18.sunt Ușa. Dacă intră cineva prin Mine, va fi mântuit; va intra și va ieși și va găsi pășune.10 Hoțul nu vine decât să fure, să înjunghie și să prăpădească. Eu am venit ca oile să aibă viață, și s-o aibă din belșug.11 Eu*Is. 40:11.Ezec. 34:12,23;37:24.Evr. 13:20.1 Pet. 2:25;5:4.sunt Păstorul cel bun. Păstorul cel bun își dă viața pentru oi.12 Dar cel plătit, care nu este păstor și ale cărui oi nu sunt ale lui, când vede lupul venind, lasă*Zah. 11:16,17.oile și fuge, și lupul le răpește și le împrăștie.13 Cel plătit fuge, pentru că este plătit și nu-i pasă de oi.14 Eu sunt Păstorul cel bun. Eu Îmi cunosc oile*2 Tim. 2:19.Mele, și ele Mă cunosc pe Mine,15 așa cum*Mat. 11:27.Mă cunoaște pe Mine Tatăl și cum cunosc Eu pe Tatăl, și*Cap. 15:13.Eu Îmi dau viața pentru oile Mele.16 Mai am și alte*Is. 56:8.oi, care nu sunt din staulul acesta; și pe acelea trebuie să le aduc. Ele vor asculta de glasul Meu, și*Ezec. 37:22.Efes. 2:14.1 Pet. 2:25.va fi o turmă și un Păstor.17 Tatăl Mă iubește, pentru că*Is. 53:7,8,12.Evr. 2:9.Îmi dau viața ca iarăși s-o iau.18 Nimeni nu Mi-o ia cu sila, ci o dau Eu de la Mine. Am*Cap. 2:19.putere s-o dau și am putere s-o iau iarăși; aceasta*Cap. 6:38;15:10.Fapte 2:24,32.este porunca pe care am primit-o de la Tatăl Meu."19 Din pricina acestor cuvinte, iarăși*Cap. 7:43;9:16. s-a făcut dezbinare între iudei. 20 Mulți dintre ei ziceau: „Are*Cap. 7:20;8:48,52. drac, este nebun. De ce-L ascultați?" 21 Alții ziceau: „Cuvintele acestea nu sunt cuvinte de îndrăcit. Poate*Exod 4:11.Ps. 94:9;146:8. un drac să*Cap. 9:6,7,32,33. deschidă ochii orbilor?"

22 În Ierusalim se prăznuia atunci Praznicul Înnoirii Templului. Era iarna. 23 Și Isus Se plimba prin Templu, pe sub*Fapte 3:11;5:12. pridvorul lui Solomon. 24 Iudeii L-au înconjurat și I-au zis: „Până când ne tot ții sufletele în încordare? Dacă ești Hristosul, spune-ne-o deslușit." 25 „V-am spus", le-a răspuns Isus, „și nu credeți. Lucrările*Cap. 3:2;5:36. Vers. 38.pe care le fac Eu în Numele Tatălui Meu, ele mărturisesc despre Mine.26 Dar*Cap. 8:47.1 Ioan 4:6.voi nu credeți, pentru că, după cum v-am spus, nu sunteți din oile Mele.27 Oile*Vers. 4,14.Mele ascultă glasul Meu; Eu le cunosc și ele vin după Mine.28 Eu le dau viața veșnică, în veac nu*Cap. 6:37;17:11,12;18:9.vor pieri și nimeni nu le va smulge din mâna Mea.29 Tatăl*Cap. 14:28.Meu, care*Cap. 17:2,6.Mi le-a dat, este mai mare decât toți și nimeni nu le poate smulge din mâna Tatălui Meu.30 Eu*Cap. 17:11,22.și Tatăl una suntem."31 Atunci, iudeii*Cap. 8:59. iarăși au luat pietre ca să-L ucidă. 32 Isus le-a zis: „V-am arătat multe lucrări bune, care vin de la Tatăl Meu: pentru care din aceste lucrări aruncați cu pietre în Mine?"33 Iudeii I-au răspuns: „Nu pentru o lucrare bună aruncăm noi cu pietre în Tine, ci pentru o hulă și pentru că Tu, care ești un om, Te*Cap. 5:18. faci Dumnezeu." 34 Isus le-a răspuns: „Nu*Ps. 82:6.este scris în Legea voastră: ‘Eu am zis: «Sunteți dumnezei»’?35 Dacă Legea a numit dumnezei pe*Rom. 13:1.aceia cărora le-a vorbit Cuvântul lui Dumnezeu, și Scriptura nu poate fi desființată,36 cum ziceți voi că hulesc Eu, pe care*Cap. 6:27.Tatăl M-a sfințit și M-a trimis*Cap. 3:17;5:36,37;8:42.în lume? Și aceasta, pentru că*Cap. 5:17,18. Vers. 30.am zis: ‘Sunt Fiul*Luca 1:35. Cap. 9:35,37.lui Dumnezeu!’37 Dacă*Cap. 15:24.nu fac lucrările Tatălui Meu, să nu Mă credeți.38 Dar, dacă le fac, chiar dacă nu Mă credeți*Cap. 5:36;14:10,11.pe Mine, credeți măcar lucrările acestea, ca să ajungeți să cunoașteți și să știți că*Cap. 14:10,11;17:21.Tatăl este în Mine și Eu sunt în Tatăl."39 La*Cap. 7:30,44;8:59. auzul acestor vorbe, căutau iarăși să-L prindă, dar El a scăpat din mâinile lor.

40 Isus S-a dus iarăși dincolo de Iordan, în locul unde*Cap. 1:28. botezase Ioan la început. Și a rămas acolo. 41 Mulți veneau la El și ziceau: „Ioan n-a făcut niciun semn, dar*Cap. 3:30. tot ce a spus Ioan despre omul acesta era adevărat." 42 Și*Cap. 8:31;11:45. mulți au crezut în El în locul acela.
