1 Deus é conhecido em Judá;
grande é o seu nome em Israel.
2 Em Salém está o seu tabernáculo,
e, em Sião, a sua morada.
3 Ali, despedaçou ele as flechas,
o escudo, a espada e a batalha.
4 Tu és ilustre e mais glorioso
do que os montes eternos.
5 Os corajosos foram despojados;
jazem a dormir o seu sono,
e nenhum dos valentes
pode valer-se das próprias mãos.
6 Ante a tua repreensão,
ó Deus de Jacó,
carros de guerra e cavalos
foram lançados
num sono profundo.
7 Tu, sim, tu és terrível;
se estás irado,
quem pode permanecer
na tua presença?
8 Desde os céus fizeste ouvir
o teu juízo;
a terra tremeu e se aquietou,
9 quando Deus se levantou
para julgar
e salvar todos os humildes da terra.
10 Pois até a ira humana
há de louvar-te;
e da ira restante te cingirás.
11 Façam votos ao Senhor, seu Deus,
e tratem de cumpri-los;
todos os que o rodeiam
tragam presentes
àquele que deve ser temido.
12 Ele acaba com
o orgulho dos príncipes;
ele é tremendo
para os reis da terra.

1 In Judah is God known: his name is great in Israel.2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.3 There broke he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah.4 You are more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.5 The stouthearted are spoiled, they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands.6 At your rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.7 You, even you, are to be feared: and who may stand in your sight when once you are angry?8 You did cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared, and was still,9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah.10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise you: the remainder of wrath shall you restrain.11 Vow, and pay to the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents to him that ought to be feared.12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
