1 Ouve a minha oração, Senhor! Chegue a ti o meu grito de socorro!2 Não escondas de mim o teu rosto, quando estou atribulado. Inclina para mim os teus ouvidos; quando eu clamar, responde-me depressa!3 Esvaem-se os meus dias como fumaça; meus ossos queimam como brasas vivas.4 Como a relva ressequida está o meu coração; esqueço até de comer!5 De tanto gemer estou reduzido a pele e osso.6 Sou como a coruja do deserto, como uma coruja entre as ruínas.7 Não consigo dormir; tornei-me como um pássaro solitário no telhado.8 Os meus inimigos zombam de mim o tempo todo; os que me insultam usam o meu nome para lançar maldições.9 Cinzas são a minha comida, e com lágrimas misturo o que bebo,10 por causa da tua indignação e da tua ira, pois me rejeitaste e me expulsaste para longe de ti.11 Meus dias são como sombras crescentes; sou como a relva que vai murchando.12 Tu, porém, Senhor, no trono reinarás para sempre; o teu nome será lembrado de geração em geração.13 Tu te levantarás e terás misericórdia de Sião, pois é hora de lhe mostrares compaixão; o tempo certo é chegado.14 Pois as suas pedras são amadas pelos teus servos, as suas ruínas os enchem de compaixão.15 Então as nações temerão o nome do Senhor, e todos os reis da terra a sua glória.16 Porque o Senhor reconstruirá Sião e se manifestará na glória que ele tem.17 Responderá à oração dos desamparados; as suas súplicas não desprezará.18 Escreva-se isto para as futuras gerações, e um povo que ainda será criado louvará o Senhor, proclamando:19 "Do seu santuário nas alturas o Senhor olhou; dos céus observou a terra,20 para ouvir os gemidos dos prisioneiros e libertar os condenados à morte".21 Assim o nome do Senhor será anunciado em Sião e o seu louvor, em Jerusalém,22 quando os povos e os reinos se reunirem para adorar ao Senhor.23 No meio da minha vida ele me abateu com sua força; abreviou os meus dias.24 Então pedi: "Ó meu Deus, não me leves no meio dos meus dias. Os teus dias duram por todas as gerações!25 No princípio firmaste os fundamentos da terra, e os céus são obras das tuas mãos.26 Eles perecerão, mas tu permanecerás; envelhecerão como vestimentas. Como roupas tu os trocarás e serão jogados fora.27 Mas tu permaneces o mesmo, e os teus dias jamais terão fim.28 Os filhos dos teus servos terão uma habitação; os seus descendentes serão estabelecidos na tua presença".

Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come to thee.3 \102:2\Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thy ear to me: in the day when I call, answer me speedily.4 \102:3\For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.5 \102:4\My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.6 \102:5\By reason of the voice of my groaning, my bones cleave to my skin.7 \102:6\I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.8 \102:7\I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.9 \102:8\My enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are enraged against me are sworn against me.10 \102:9\For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,11 \102:10\Because of thy indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.12 \102:11\My days are like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass.13 \102:12\But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance to all generations.14 \102:13\Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, is come.15 \102:14\For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favor the dust thereof.16 \102:15\So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD: and all the kings of the earth thy glory.17 \102:16\When the LORD shall build up Zion, he will appear in his glory.18 \102:17\He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.19 \102:18\This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.20 \102:19\For he hath looked down from the hight of his sanctuary; from heaven hath the LORD beheld the earth;21 \102:20\To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;22 \102:21\To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;23 \102:22\When the people are assembled, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.24 \102:23\He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.25 \102:24\I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.26 \102:25\Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.27 \102:26\They shall perish, but thou wilt endure: yes, all of them shall grow old like a garment; as a vesture wilt thou change them, and they shall be changed:28 \102:27\But thou art the same, and thy years will have no end.29 \102:28\The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.
