1 Quando o Senhor trouxe os cativos de volta a Sião, foi como um sonho.2 Então a nossa boca encheu-se de riso, e a nossa língua de cantos de alegria. Até nas outras nações se dizia: "O Senhor fez coisas grandiosas por este povo".3 Sim, coisas grandiosas fez o Senhor por nós, por isso estamos alegres.4 Senhor, restaura-nos, assim como enches o leito dos ribeiros no deserto.5 Aqueles que semeiam com lágrimas, com cantos de alegria colherão.6 Aquele que sai chorando enquanto lança a semente, voltará com cantos de alegria, trazendo os seus feixes.

1 A Song of degrees. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.3 The LORD hath done great things for us; of which we are glad.4 Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless return with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
