1 E agora eis as instruções com respeito à colecta em dinheiro que estão a fazer para enviar aos crentes em Jerusalém; aliás estas são as mesmas instruções que eu dei às igrejas da Galácia.2 Todos os domingos, cada um ponha de parte uma quantia daquilo que ganhou durante a semana, destinada a esta oferta. Não esperem que eu chegue, para fazer a colecta de uma só vez.3 Então, quando eu aí estiver, mandarei essa vossa oferta de amor fraternal a Jerusalém, acompanhada de uma carta, por intermédio de pessoas escolhidas por vocês.4 E se for conveniente que eu vá também, poderemos fazer juntos, eles e eu, essa viagem.5 A minha ida aí será depois de ter passado primeiro na Macedónia.6 Possivelmente será convosco que estarei mais tempo, talvez até todo o Inverno, e depois então poderão deixar-me partir para o destino seguinte.7 Na verdade desta vez não quero fazer apenas uma visita de passagem; desta vez hei-de ficar uma temporada, se Deus mo permitir.8 Ficarei aqui no entanto, em Éfeso, até à celebração de Pentecostes,9 porque existe uma porta bem aberta para fazer um grande trabalho aqui e muitas pessoas estão a corresponder. Mas isso não tira que haja muitos inimigos.10 Se Timóteo aí for, recebam-no o melhor que puderem porque tem trabalhado na obra do Senhor tal como eu.11 Que ninguém tenha menos consideração por ele , mas que ele regresse feliz; fico à espera dele e dos outros que o acompanham.12 Pedi também a Apolo que vos visitasse na companhia de outros irmãos, mas ele achou que não devia fazê-lo agora; irá ver-vos mais tarde, quando tiver uma oportunidade.13 Mantenham-se vigilantes; permaneçam fiéis ao Senhor; sejam firmes e corajosos; que a vossa vida espiritual seja forte e enérgica.14 E tudo o que fizerem que seja com bondade e amor.15 Como sabem Estéfanes e a sua família foram os primeiros a tornarem-se cristãos na Grécia, consagrando as suas vidas ao serviço dos filhos de Deus.16 Sigam, pois, as suas directivas e as de todos os outros que trabalham no vosso seio com verdadeira dedicação.17 Estou bem contente que Estéfanes, Fortunato e Acaico aqui tenham vindo visitar-nos. Eles fizeram por mim o que vocês não puderam em virtude de estarem longe.18 Serviram-me de maravilhoso estímulo; e estou certo que o mesmo foram para vocês. Espero que apreciem, no seu justo valor, o trabalho de homens como estes.19 Aqui, na província da Ásia, as igrejas enviam-vos as suas melhores saudações. Áquila e Priscila mandam-vos toda a sua afeição, assim como os que se reúnem na sua casa para o culto.20 Todos os crentes aqui vos enviam recomendações. E vocês mesmos saúdem-se com um beijo fraterno.21 E agora sou eu mesmo, Paulo, a escrever com a minha própria mão.22 Se alguém não ama o Senhor, que seja objecto do seu julgamento. O Senhor Jesus vem!23 Que a graça do Senhor Jesus Cristo seja convosco.24 Envio-vos toda a minha afeição, na comunhão de todos os que pertencem a Cristo Jesus. Que assim seja!

1 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.2 Upon the first day of the week, let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no collections when I come.3 And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality to Jerusalem.4 And if it be proper that I should go also, they shall go with me.5 Now I will come to you, when I shall pass through Macedonia: for I am to pass through Macedonia.6 And it may be that I shall abide, and even winter with you, that ye may bring me on my journey whithersoever I go.7 For I will not see you now by the way; but I trust to tarry a while with you, if the Lord permit.8 But I shall tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost.9 For a great door and effectual is opened to me, and there are many adversaries.10 Now if Timothy come, see that he may be with you without fear: for he worketh the work of the Lord, as I also do.11 Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that he may come to me: for I look for him with the brethren.12 As concerning our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come to you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, acquit yourselves like men, be strong.14 Let all your things be done with charity.15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)16 That ye submit yourselves to such, and to every one that helpeth with us, and laboreth.17 I am glad of the coming of Stephanas, and Fortunatus, and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part, they have supplied.18 For they have refreshed my spirit and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them that are such.19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.20 All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with a holy kiss.21 The salutation of me Paul with my own hand.22 If any man loveth not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema, Maran-atha.23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.24 My love be with you all in Christ Jesus.
