1 Then said Yahweh unto MosesYet one plague, will I bring in upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt, after that, he will let you go from hence,when he doth let you go, he will, altogether drive, you out from hence.2 Speak, I pray you, in the ears of the people,and let them askevery man of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, articles of silver and articles of gold.3 And Yahweh gave the people favour, in the eyes of the Egyptians,even the man Moses himself, was exceeding great in the land of Egypt,in the eyes of Pharaohs servants and in the eyes of the people.4 And Moses said, Thus saith Yahweh,About midnight, am, I, going forth in the midst of Egypt;5 then shall every firstborn in the land of Egypt die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who is sitting on his throne, unto the firstborn of the handmaid who is behind the two millstones,and every firstborn of beasts;6 then shall there be a great outcry, in all the land of Egypt,such, as never was and, such, as shall not be again.7 But against none of the sons of Israel, shall a dog sharpen his tongue, neither against man nor beast,that ye may know that Yahweh maketh a difference between Egypt and Israel.8 So shall all these thy servants come down unto me and bow themselves down to me sayingGo forth, thou and all the people who are in thy footsteps, and after that, will I go forth. And he went forth from Pharaoh, in a heat of anger.9 And Yahweh had said unto Moses, Pharaoh will not hearken unto you,that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.10 So then, Moses and Aaron, did all these wonders before Pharaoh,but Yahweh let Pharaohs heart wax bold, and he did not let the sons of Israel go out of his land.

1 E o Senhor disse a Moisés: Ainda uma praga trarei sobre Faraó e sobre o Egito; depois, vos deixará ir daqui; e, quando vos deixar ir totalmente, a toda a pressa vos lançará daqui. 2 Fala agora aos ouvidos do povo, que cada varão peça ao seu vizinho, e cada mulher à sua vizinha, vasos de prata e vasos de ouro. 3 E o Senhor deu graça ao povo aos olhos dos egípcios; também o varão Moisés era mui grande na terra do Egito, aos olhos dos servos de Faraó e aos olhos do povo.

4 Disse mais Moisés: Assim o Senhor tem dito: À meia-noite eu sairei pelo meio do Egito; 5 e todo primogênito na terra do Egito morrerá, desde o primogênito de Faraó, que se assenta com ele sobre o seu trono, até ao primogênito da serva que está detrás da mó, e todo primogênito dos animais. 6 E haverá grande clamor em toda a terra do Egito, qual nunca houve semelhante e nunca haverá; 7 mas contra todos os filhos de Israel nem ainda um cão moverá a sua língua, desde os homens até aos animais, para que saibais que o Senhor fez diferença entre os egípcios e os israelitas. 8 Então, todos estes teus servos descerão a mim e se inclinarão diante de mim, dizendo: Sai tu e todo o povo que te segue as pisadas; e, depois, eu sairei. E saiu de Faraó em ardor de ira. 9 O Senhor dissera a Moisés: Faraó vos não ouvirá, para que as minhas maravilhas se multipliquem na terra do Egito.

10 E Moisés e Arão fizeram todas estas maravilhas diante de Faraó; mas o Senhor endureceu o coração de Faraó, que não deixou ir os filhos de Israel da sua terra.
