1 And unto Moses, he saidCome up unto Yahwehthou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, so shall ye bow yourselves down from afar.2 And Moses alone shall draw near unto Yahweh, but, they shall not draw near, and, the people, shall not come up with him.3 So Moses came, and recounted to the people all the words of Yahweh, and all the regulations, and all the people responded with one voice and said, All the words which Yahweh hath spoken, will we do.4 Then wrote Moses all the words of Yahweh, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar, under the mountain, and twelve pillars, for the twelve tribes of Israel:5 and he sent young men of the sons of Israel, and they caused to go up, ascending-sacrifices,and slew peace-offerings to Yahweh, of oxen.6 Then took Moses half of the blood, and put it in basins, and half of the blood, dashed he over the altar:7 then took he the book of the covenant, and read in the ears of the people. And they said, All that Yahweh hath spoken, will we do, and will hearken,8 Then Moses took the blood, and dashed over the people, and said, Lo! the blood of the covenant which Yahweh hath solemnised with you, over all these words.9 Then went up Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel;10 and they saw the God of Israel,and under his feet, like a pavement of sapphire, and like the very heavens for brightness; and11 against the nobles of the sons of Israel, put he not forth his hand,so then they had vision of God, and did eat and drink,12 Then said Yahweh unto MosesCome thou up unto me in the mountain and remain thou there,for I must give thee tables of stone and the law and the commandment, which I have written to direct them.13 And Moses rose up, and Joshua his attendant, and Moses went up into the mountain of God;14 but, unto the elders, he saidTarry for us here, until we return unto you. And lo! Aaron and Hur, are with you, he that hath a cause, let him draw near unto them.15 So then Moses wont up into the mountain,and the cloud covered the mountain.16 And the glory of Yahweh rested upon Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days,then called he unto Moses on the seventh day, out of the midst of the cloud.17 And the appearance of the glory of Yahweh was like a consuming fire h on the top of the mountain,in the sight of the sons of Israel.18 And Moses entered into the midst of the cloud and ascended into the mountain. And it came to pass that Moses was in the mountain forty days and forty nights.

1 Depois, disse a Moisés: Sobe ao Senhor, tu e Arão, Nadabe e Abiú, e setenta dos anciãos de Israel; e inclinai-vos de longe. 2 E só Moisés se chegará ao Senhor; mas eles não se cheguem, nem o povo suba com ele.

3 Vindo, pois, Moisés e contando ao povo todas as palavras do Senhor e todos os estatutos, então, o povo respondeu a uma voz. E disseram: Todas as palavras que o Senhor tem falado faremos. 4 E Moisés escreveu todas as palavras do Senhor, e levantou-se pela manhã de madrugada, e edificou um altar ao pé do monte e doze monumentos, segundo as doze tribos de Israel; 5 e enviou certos jovens dos filhos de Israel, os quais ofereceram holocaustos e sacrificaram ao Senhor sacrifícios pacíficos de bezerros. 6 E Moisés tomou a metade do sangue e a pôs em bacias; e a outra metade do sangue espargiu sobre o altar. 7 E tomou o livro do concerto e o leu aos ouvidos do povo, e eles disseram: Tudo o que o Senhor tem falado faremos e obedeceremos. 8 Então, tomou Moisés aquele sangue, e o espargiu sobre o povo, e disse: Eis aqui o sangue do concerto que o Senhor tem feito convosco sobre todas estas palavras.

9 E subiram Moisés e Arão, Nadabe e Abiú, e setenta dos anciãos de Israel, 10 e viram o Deus de Israel, e debaixo de seus pés havia como uma obra de pedra de safira e como o parecer do céu na sua claridade. 11 Porém ele não estendeu a sua mão sobre os escolhidos dos filhos de Israel; mas viram a Deus, e comeram, e beberam.

12 Então, disse o Senhor a Moisés: Sobe a mim, ao monte, e fica lá; e dar-te-ei tábuas de pedra, e a lei, e os mandamentos que tenho escrito, para os ensinares. 13 E levantou-se Moisés com Josué, seu servidor; e subiu Moisés o monte de Deus. 14 E disse aos anciãos: Esperai-nos aqui, até que tornemos a vós; e eis que Arão e Hur ficam convosco; quem tiver algum negócio se chegará a eles.

15 E, subindo Moisés o monte, a nuvem cobriu o monte. 16 E habitava a glória do Senhor sobre o monte Sinai, e a nuvem o cobriu por seis dias; e, ao sétimo dia, chamou o Senhor a Moisés do meio da nuvem. 17 E o aspecto da glória do Senhor era como um fogo consumidor no cume do monte aos olhos dos filhos de Israel. 18 E Moisés entrou no meio da nuvem, depois que subiu o monte; e Moisés esteve no monte quarenta dias e quarenta noites.
