A iniquidade e rebelião de Israel

1 Ao *Os 7.13;Os 6.4;11.8;Ez 24.13querer eu sarar a Israel, descobre-se a iniquidade de Efraim e as maldades de Samaria, porque praticam a *Os 4.2falsidade; o ladrão entra, *Os 6.9e a tropa de salteadores despoja por fora. 2 Não consideram nos seus corações que eu *Os 8.13;9.9;Sl 25.7;Jr 14.10;Am 8.7me lembro de toda a sua malícia; agora, *Os 4.9;Jr 2.19;4.18os seus feitos os têm rodeado; acham-se diante da minha face. 3 Com a sua malícia, *Os 7.5;Jr 28.1-4;Mq 7.3alegram o rei e, *Os 4.2;11.12com as suas mentiras, aos príncipes. 4 Todos eles são *Jr 9.2;23.10adúlteros; são semelhantes ao forno aceso pelo padeiro: ele cessa de atiçar o fogo desde o amassar a massa até que seja ela levedada. 5 No dia do nosso *Os 7.3rei, *Is 28.1,7,8adoeceram os príncipes com o esquentamento do vinho; e o rei estendeu a mão com os *Is 28.14escarnecedores. 6 Pois eles têm preparado o seu coração como um forno, enquanto estão de espreita; toda a noite dorme o seu padeiro; pela manhã, arde como fogo de chama. 7 Todos eles são quentes como o *Sl 21.9forno e devoram os seus *Os 13.10juízes; todos os *Os 7.16seus reis têm caído; não há entre eles quem *Os 7.10clame a mim.

8 Quanto *Os 7.11;Os 5.13a Efraim, ele se mistura com o povo; Efraim é um pão cozido sobre as brasas que não foi virado. 9 *Is 1.7Estrangeiros lhe têm devorado a força, e ele não o sabe; cabelos brancos se lhe espalham pela cabeça, *Os 4.6e ele não o sabe. 10 A *Os 5.5arrogância de Israel dá testemunho contra ele; contudo, *Os 7.7,14;Os 5.4não têm voltado para Jeová, seu Deus, nem o têm buscado em tudo isso. 11 Efraim tem-se tornado como uma pomba insensata, *Os 4.6,11,14;5.4sem entendimento; chamam ao *Os 7.16;Os 8.13;9.3,6Egito, vão para a *Os 5.13;8.9;12.1Assíria. 12 Quando forem, *Ez 12.13estenderei sobre eles a minha rede; fá-los-ei descer como as aves do céu; castigá-los-ei de conformidade com o que ouviu a sua congregação. 13 *Os 9.12Ai deles! Porque *Os 9.17;Jr 14.10;Ez 34.6se erraram de mim; destruição sobre eles, porque transgrediram contra mim! Embora eu *Os 7.1;Jr 51.9;Mt 23.37quisesse remi-los, todavia, proferiram mentiras contra mim. 14 *Os 8.2Não clamaram a mim com o seu coração, mas uivaram nas suas camas; *Jz 9.27;Am 2.8;Mq 2.11ajuntam-se para o trigo e o vinho, *Os 13.16rebelam-se contra mim. 15 Embora fosse eu que *Os 11.3instruísse e desse força aos seus braços, todavia, *Na 1.9imaginam o mal contra mim. 16 Voltam, porém não para aquele que está no alto; têm-se tornado *Sl 78.57como um arco enganoso; cairão à espada os seus *Os 7.7príncipes, por causa *Sl 12.3-4;17.10;Dn 7.25;Ml 3.13-14do furor da sua língua; este será *Ez 23.32o escárnio deles na terra do *Os 7.11Egito.

1 When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief cometh in, and the troop of robbers spoileth without.*7.1 wickedness: Heb. evils*7.1 spoileth: Heb. strippeth 2 And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.*7.2 consider…: Heb. say not to 3 They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies. 4 They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth from raising after he hath kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.*7.4 who…: or, the raiser will cease*7.4 raising: or, waking 5 In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.*7.5 bottles…: or, heat through wine 6 For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.*7.6 made…: or, applied 7 They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.

8 Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned. 9 Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.*7.9 here…: Heb. sprinkled 10 And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.

11 Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria. 12 When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard. 13 Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.*7.13 destruction: Heb. spoil 14 And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me. 15 Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.*7.15 have…: or, chastened 16 They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
