1 Tendo saído Jesus do templo, ia-se retirando, quando se chegaram a ele seus discípulos para lhe mostrarem os edifícios do templo.2 Mas ele lhes disse: Vedes tudo isto? em verdade vos digo que não ficará aqui pedra sobre pedra, que não seja derribada.3 Estando ele sentado no monte das Oliveiras, chegaram seus discípulos em particular, dizendo-lhe: Declara-nos, quando sucederão estas coisas, e qual o sinal da tua vinda e do fim do mundo?4 Respondeu Jesus: Vede que ninguém vos engane.5 Pois muitos virão em meu nome, dizendo: Eu sou o Cristo, e enganarão a muitos.6 Haveis de ouvir falar de guerras e rumores de guerras: olhai não vos assusteis; porque é necessário que assim aconteça, mas não é ainda o fim.7 Pois se levantará nação contra nação, reino contra reino, e haverá fomes e terremotos em diversos lugares;8 porém tudo isto é o princípio das dores.9 Então sereis entregues à tribulação, e vos matarão; sereis odiados por todas as nações por causa do meu nome.10 Nesse tempo muitos hão de se escandalizar e trair-se uns aos outros, e uns aos outros se odiarão;11 hão de se levantar muitos falsos profetas, e a muitos enganarão;12 e por se multiplicar a iniqüidade, resfriar-se-á o amor da maior parte dos homens.13 Todavia quem persevera até o fim, esse será salvo.14 Será pregado este Evangelho do reino por todo o mundo em testemunho a todas as nações, e então virá o fim.15 Quando, pois, virdes a abominação de desolação, predita pelo profeta Daniel, estabelecida no lugar santo (quem lê, entenda),16 então os que estiverem na Judéia, fujam para os montes;17 o que se achar no eirado, não desça a tirar as coisas de sua casa,18 e o que estiver no campo, não volte para tomar a sua capa.19 Mas ai das que estiverem grávidas e das que amamentarem naqueles dias!20 Rogai que a vossa fuga não suceda no inverno, nem no sábado;21 porque haverá então grande tribulação, tal como nunca houve desde o princípio do mundo até agora, nem haverá jamais.22 Se não se abreviassem aqueles dias, ninguém seria salvo; mas por amor dos escolhidos esses dias serão abreviados.23 Então se alguém vos disser: Eis aqui o Cristo! ou: Ei-lo ali! não acrediteis;24 porque se hão de levantar falsos cristos e falsos profetas, e mostrarão tais sinais e milagres que, se fora possível, enganariam até os escolhidos.25 Vede que de antemão vo-lo tenho declarado.26 Se, pois, vos disserem: Ei-lo que está no deserto! não saiais: Ei-lo no interior da casa! não acrediteis;27 porque assim como o relâmpago sai do oriente, e se mostra até o ocidente, assim será a vinda do Filho do homem.28 Onde estiver o cadáver, aí se juntarão os corvos.29 Logo depois da tribulação daqueles dias o sol escurecerá, a lua não dará a sua claridade, as estrelas cairão do céu e as potestades dos céus serão abaladas.30 Então aparecerá no céu o sinal do Filho do homem, e todas as tribos da terra se hão de lamentar, e verão o Filho do homem vir sobre as nuvens do céu com poder e grande glória.31 Ele enviará os seus anjos com grande trombeta, os quais ajuntarão os escolhidos dos quatro ventos, de uma à outra extremidade dos céus.32 Aprendei esta parábola tirada da figueira: quando os seus ramos já estiverem tenros e brotarem folhas, sabeis que está próximo o verão;33 assim também vós, quando virdes todas estas coisas, sabei que ele está próximo, às portas.34 Em verdade vos digo que não passará esta geração, sem que todas estas coisas se cumpram.35 Passará o céu e a terra, mas não passarão as minhas palavras.36 Mas daquele dia e daquela hora ninguém sabe, nem os anjos dos céus, nem o Filho, senão só o Pai.37 Pois assim como foi nos dias de Noé, assim será a vinda do Filho do homem.38 Pois assim como naqueles dias antes do dilúvio comiam e bebiam, casavam-se e davam-se em casamento, até o dia em que Noé entrou na arca,39 e não o perceberam senão quando veio o dilúvio, e os levou a todos; assim será também a vinda do Filho do homem.40 Naquele dia de dois homens que estiverem no campo, um será tomado e o outro será deixado;41 de duas mulheres que estiverem moendo em um moinho, uma será tomada e a outra será deixada.42 Portanto vigiai, porque não sabeis em que dia vem o vosso Senhor;43 mas considerai que se o dono da casa tivesse sabido a que hora da noite havia de vir o ladrão, teria vigiado e não haveria deixado arrombar a sua casa.44 Por isso estai vós também apercebidos; porque a hora que não pensais, virá o Filho do homem.45 Quem é, pois, o servo fiel e prudente, ao qual o seu senhor confiou a direção da sua casa, para que a tempo dê a todos o sustento?46 Feliz aquele servo a quem o seu senhor, quando vier, achar assim fazendo.47 Em verdade vos digo que lhe confiará todos os seus bens.48 Mas se aquele servo, sendo mau, disser no seu coração: Meu senhor demora-se,49 e começar a espancar os seus companheiros, e a comer e beber com os ébrios,50 virá o senhor daquele servo no dia em que este o não espera e na hora que não sabe,51 e cortá-lo-á pelo meio e pô-lo-á com os ímpios; ali haverá o choro e o ranger de dentes.
1 After Jesus left the temple, his disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.2 He said to them: »Do you see these things? I tell you, not one stone will be left upon another. They will all be thrown down.«3 He sat on the Mount of Olives. The disciples came to him privately, saying: »Tell us when these things will be? What will be the sign of your presence and of the end of the age?«4 Jesus answered: »Be careful that no man misleads you.5 »Many will come in my name, saying, I am the Christ, and will deceive many.6 »You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Do not be troubled, for this must happen, but the end is not yet.7 »Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many places.8 »These things are the beginning of birth pains Greek: odin': in the throws of pain, such as childbirth.9 »People will cause you tribulation, and kill you. The love of many will grow cold.13 »The person who endures to the end will be saved.14 »The good news of the kingdom will be preached in the entire world for a witness to all the nations and then the end will come.15 »When you see the disgusting abomination of desolation unclean thing spoken about through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place let him that reads understand,16 »you in Judea flee to the mountains;17 »you on the housetop do not go down to remove the things in your house.18 »You in the field do not return to get your clothes.19 »You who are pregnant or nursing babies in those days will feel trouble.20 »Pray that your flight not be in the winter, neither on a Sabbath.21 »There will be great tribulation. The moon will not give light. The stars will fall from heaven. The powers of the heavens will be shaken.30 »The sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of earth will mourn. They will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.31 »He will send his angels with a great trumpet sound. They will gather together the anointed from the four winds, from one end of the sky horizon to the other.32 »Learn from the illustration of the fig tree. When the branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near.33 »Therefore, when you see all these things, you will know he is near, even at the door.34 »Truly I tell you, this generation those living at that time will not pass away till all these things take place.35 »Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.36 »No one knows the day and the hour the period of time. The Son of man will come at a time when you do not expect it.45 »Who then is the faithful, thoughtful, and wise servant, whom his lord put in charge of his other servants, to give them their food at the proper time?46 »That servant is blessed when his lord comes and finds him doing his will.47 »I tell you, he will put him in charge of everything he owns.48 »But if that evil servant says in his heart, My lord delays,49 »so I will beat mistreat my fellow servants. And he eats and drinks with drunkards,50 »the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect it, an hour when he is unaware.51 »He will punish him severely, and send him to be with the hypocrites. There they will cry and grind their teeth.
