1 Por amor a Sião, eu não me calarei, por amor de Jerusalém, não terei sossego, até que sua justiça brilhe como a aurora, e sua salvação como uma flama.2 As nações verão então tua vitória, e todos os reis teu triunfo. Receberás então um novo nome, determinado pela boca do Senhor.3 E tu serás uma esplêndida coroa na mão do Senhor, um diadema real entre as mãos do teu Deus;4 não mais serás chamada a desamparada, nem tua terra, a abandonada; serás chamada: minha preferida, e tua terra: a desposada, porque o Senhor se comprazerá em ti e tua terra terá um esposo;5 assim como um jovem desposa uma jovem, aquele que te tiver construído te desposará; e como a recém-casada faz a alegria de seu marido, tu farás a alegria de teu Deus.6 Sobre tuas muralhas, Jerusalém, coloquei vigias; nem de dia nem de noite devem calar-se. Vós, que deveis manter desperta a memória do Senhor, não vos concedais descanso algum7 e não o deixeis em paz, até que tenha restabelecido Jerusalém para dela fazer a glória da terra.8 O Senhor o jurou por sua destra e por seu braço poderoso: Não deixarei mais teus inimigos alimentarem-se de teu trigo, nem os estrangeiros beberem o vinho, produto de teu trabalho.9 Aqueles que colherem o trigo o comerão louvando o Senhor; aqueles que vindimarem beberão o vinho no átrio de meu santuário.10 Passai, passai pelas portas, preparai o caminho ao povo! Abri, abri a estrada, retirai dela as pedras! Alçai o estandarte para convocar os povos.11 Eis o que o Senhor proclama até os confins da terra: Dizei a Sião: eis, aí vem teu salvador; eis com ele o preço de sua vitória, ele faz-se preceder dos frutos de sua conquista;12 os resgatados do Senhor serão chamados Povo Santo, e tu, cidade não mais desamparada, serás chamada a desejada.

1 For the sake of Zion will I not be silent, and for the sake of Jerusalem will I not be quiet; until its righteousness go forth as the brightness of light, and its salvation as a burning torch.2 And nations shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory; and men shall call thee by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall pronounce.3 And thou shalt be a crown of ornament in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.4 Thou shalt not be termed any more "Forsaken," and thy land shall not be termed any more "Desolate;" for thou shalt be called "My delight in her" Chephzi–bah, and thy land "Espoused" Be’ulah ; for the Lord will have delight in thee, and thy land shall be espoused.5 For as a young man espouseth a virgin, so shall thy sons espouse thee; and as the bridegroom is glad over the bride, so will be glad over thee thy God.6 Over thy walls, O Jerusalem, have I appointed watchmen, all the day and all the night, continually, shall they not be silent: ye that make mention of the Lord, take ye no rest.7 And give him no rest, until he have established, and until he have set up Jerusalem as a praise on the earth.8 Sworn hath the Lord by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, I will not give thy corn any more as food for thy enemies, and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy young wine for which thou hast labored;9 But they who gather it shall eat it, and praise the Lord; and they who bring it together shall drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.10 Pass, pass through the gates, make clear the way of the people, cast up, cast up the highway, remove away the stones, lift up a banner over the nations.11 Behold, the Lord hath caused to be heard unto the ends of the earth, "Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold his reward is with him, and his recompense before him."12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the Lord; and thou shalt be called, Sought for, Derusha, The city never forsaken.
