Marcos 16

1 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint him. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. 3 They were saying among themselves, "Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?" 4 for it was very big. Looking up, they saw that the stone was rolled back.

5 Entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe; and they were amazed. 6 He said to them, "Don’t be amazed. You seek Jesus, the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him! 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He goes before you into Galilee. There you will see him, as he said to you.’"

8 They went out,*16:8 TR adds "quickly" and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had come on them. They said nothing to anyone; for they were afraid.*16:8 One isolated manuscript omits verses 9-20 but adds this "short ending of Mark" to the end of verse 8: They told all that had been commanded them briefly to those around Peter. After that, Jesus himself sent them out, from east to west, with the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.

9 * 16:9 NU includes the text of verses 9-20, but mentions in a footnote that a few manuscripts omitted it. The translators of the World English Bible regard Mark 16:9-20 as reliable based on an overwhelming majority of textual evidence, including not only the authoritative Greek Majority Text New Testament, but also the TR and many of the manuscripts cited in the NU text. Now when he had risen early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11 When they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they disbelieved.

12 After these things he was revealed in another form to two of them as they walked, on their way into the country. 13 They went away and told it to the rest. They didn’t believe them, either.

14 Afterward he was revealed to the eleven themselves as they sat at the table; and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they didn’t believe those who had seen him after he had risen. 15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to the whole creation. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned. 17 These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

19 So then the Lord,*16:19 NU adds "Jesus" after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 They went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen.

Jesus uppstår ur graven

Ni söker Jesus från Nasaret, den korsfäste. Han har uppstått, han är inte här! Se, här är platsen där de lade honom. 7 *Mark 14:28, Apg 1:3, 13:31, 1 Kor 15:5. Men gå och säg till hans lärjungar och särskilt till Petrus: Han går före er till Galileen. Där ska ni få se honom, så som han har sagt er."

8 Då gick de ut och flydde från graven, fyllda av bävan och bestörtning. Och de sade ingenting till någon, eftersom de var rädda.*16:8 De allra äldsta handskrifterna slutar med denna vers. Det abrupta slutet skulle kunna bero på att den ursprungliga sista sidan saknas. Avslutningen i 16:9-20 sammanfattar innehållet i de övriga evangelierna och har troligen inte skrivits av Markus själv. Några handskrifter har i stället en kortare avslutning: "Men de berättade kortfattat om allt de blivit tillsagda för dem som fanns runt Petrus. Genom dem sände Jesus sedan själv ut, från öster och ända till väster, den heliga och oförgängliga förkunnelsen om den eviga frälsningen. Amen."

Den Uppståndne visar sig

9 *Luk 8:2, Joh 20:14f. När Jesus hade uppstått på första veckodagens morgon visade han sig först för Maria Magdalena, som han hade befriat från sju onda andar. 10 Hon gick och berättade det för dem som hade varit med honom och som nu sörjde och grät. 11 Men när de fick höra att han levde och att hon hade sett honom, trodde de inte på det.

12 Sedan visade han sig i en annan gestalt för två av dem som var på väg ut på landet. 13 De gick också och berättade det för de andra, men inte heller de blev trodda.

14 *Luk 24:36f, Joh 20:19f, 1 Kor 15:5f. Till slut visade han sig för de elva när de låg till bords, och han klandrade dem för deras otro och deras hårda hjärtan, eftersom de inte hade trott på dem som sett honom uppstånden. 15 *Matt 28:19. Och han sade till dem: "Gå ut i hela världen och förkunna evangeliet för hela skapelsen. 16 *Joh 3:18. Den som tror och blir döpt ska bli frälst, men den som inte tror ska bli fördömd. 17 *Apg 2:4, 10:46, 19:6. Dessa tecken ska följa dem som tror: I mitt namn ska de driva ut onda andar. De ska tala nya tungomål. 18 *Apg 28:3f. De ska ta ormar med händerna, och dricker de något dödligt gift ska det inte skada dem. De ska lägga händerna på sjuka, och de ska bli friska."

19 *Luk 24:50f, Apg 1:2f. När Herren Jesus hade talat till dem, togs han upp till himlen och satte sig på Guds högra sida.

20 *Apg 14:3, Hebr 2:4. Och de gick ut och predikade överallt, och Herren verkade tillsammans med dem och bekräftade ordet genom de tecken som åtföljde det.
