Marcos 7

1 Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem. 2 Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is unwashed, hands, they found fault. 3 (For the Pharisees and all the Jews don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders. 4 They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.) 5 The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?"

6 He answered them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,

‘This people honors me with their lips,

but their heart is far from me.

7 They worship me in vain,

teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ✝ 7:7 Isaiah 29:13

8 "For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things." 9 He said to them, "Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition. 10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’✝7:10 Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:16 and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’✝7:10 Exodus 21:17; Leviticus 20:9 11 But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, "Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban,"’"*7:11 Corban is a Hebrew word for an offering devoted to God. that is to say, given to God, 12 "then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother, 13 making void the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. You do many things like this."

14 He called all the multitude to himself and said to them, "Hear me, all of you, and understand. 15 There is nothing from outside of the man that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man. 16 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!"*7:16 NU omits verse 16.

17 When he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his disciples asked him about the parable. 18 He said to them, "Are you also without understanding? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him, 19 because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, making all foods clean?"*7:19 NU ends Jesus’ direct quote and question after "latrine", ending the verse with "Thus he declared all foods clean. 20 He said, "That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man. 21 For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts, 22 covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness. 23 All these evil things come from within and defile the man."

24 From there he arose and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice. 25 For a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet. 26 Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter. 27 But Jesus said to her, "Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs."

28 But she answered him, "Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs."

29 He said to her, "For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter."

30 She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.

31 Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee through the middle of the region of Decapolis. 32 They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him. 33 He took him aside from the multitude privately and put his fingers into his ears; and he spat and touched his tongue. 34 Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, "Ephphatha!" that is, "Be opened!" 35 Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly. 36 He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it. 37 They were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear and the mute speak!"

Guds bud eller människors stadgar

1 *Matt 15:1f. Fariseerna och några skriftlärda som hade kommit från Jerusalem samlades runt honom. 2 *Luk 11:38. De håller fast vid de äldstes stadgar*7:3de äldstes stadgarTolkning och tillämpning av Mose lag som hade växt fram bland de skriftlärda efter den babyloniska fångenskapen. Fariseerna betraktade dem som lika bindande som Guds lag i Skriften, medan Jesus liksom saddukeerna såg dem som enbart människors bud.. 4 Och när de kommer från torget äter de inte utan att först ha tvättat sig*7:4tvättat sigAnnan översättning: "badat" (grek. baptísontai). Jfr 3 Mos 15. En samvetsgrann farisé som kom i beröring med någon som inte följde renhetsreglerna, t ex en hedning på torget, skulle rena sig innan han åt.. Det finns många andra traditioner som de håller fast vid, som att skölja bägare, kannor och kopparkärl*7:4kopparkärlAndra handskrifter tillägger: "och bänkar" (jfr 3 Mos 15:4)..

5 Fariseerna och de skriftlärda frågade honom: "Varför följer inte dina lärjungar de äldstes stadgar utan äter med orena händer?" 6 *Matt 15:8f. Han svarade dem: "Jesaja profeterade rätt om er, ni hycklare*7:6hycklareAnnan översättning: "skådespelare".. Det står skrivet: Detta folk ärar mig med sina läppar, men deras hjärtan är långt ifrån mig. 7 Deras vördnad för mig är meningslös, för lärorna de lär ut är människobud.*7:6f Jes 29:13.8 Ni överger Guds bud och håller er till människors stadgar."

9 Han sade också till dem: "Ni upphäver skickligt Guds bud för att upprätthålla era egna stadgar. 10 *2 Mos 20:12, 21:17. Mose har sagt: Hedra din far och din mor, och: Den som förbannar sin far eller sin mor ska straffas med döden.*7:10 2 Mos 20:12, 21:17.11 Men ni påstår att om någon säger till sin far eller mor: Det du kunde fått som hjälp av mig låter jag i stället bli ’korban’, alltså en tempelgåva*7:11tempelgåvaEgendom kunde förklaras invigd åt Gud (hebr. korbán, se t ex 4 Mos 7:3). Därmed hade man enligt de äldstes stadgar löst sig från förpliktelsen att hjälpa sina föräldrar., 12 då tillåter ni inte längre att han gör något för sin far eller mor. 13 Ni upphäver Guds ord genom era stadgar som ni för vidare. Och ni gör många andra liknande saker."

14 *Matt 15:10f. Jesus kallade till sig folket igen och sade: "Lyssna på mig allihop och förstå: 15 *Tit 1:15. Inget som går in i människan utifrån kan göra henne oren. Det är det som kommer ut ur människan som gör henne oren.*7:15 En del handskrifter tillägger (vers 16): "Hör, du som har öron att höra med!""

17 *Matt 15:15f. När han hade lämnat folket och kommit inomhus, frågade hans lärjungar honom om liknelsen. 18 Han svarade dem: "Så ni förstår inte heller? Inser ni inte att inget som går in i människan utifrån kan göra henne oren, 19 *Rom 14:14, Tit 1:15. eftersom det inte går in i hennes hjärta utan ner i magen och ut på avträdet?" Därmed förklarade han all mat ren.*7:19förklarade han all mat renAnnan översättning: "blir all mat ren".20 Och han fortsatte: "Det är det som kommer ut ur människan som gör henne oren. 21 *1 Mos 6:5, 8:21. Inifrån, från människornas hjärtan, kommer de onda tankarna: sexuell omoral, stöld, mord, 22 äktenskapsbrott, girighet, ondska, svek, orgier, avund*7:22avundOrdagrant: "det onda ögat"., hädelse, högmod och dårskap. 23 Allt detta onda kommer inifrån och gör människan oren."

En hednisk kvinnas tro

24 *Matt 15:21f. Sedan gick han därifrån och kom till trakten runt Tyrus. Där gick han in i ett hus. Han ville inte att någon skulle få veta det, men det gick inte att hålla hemligt. 25 En kvinna vars dotter hade en oren ande fick höra om honom, och hon kom genast och föll ner för hans fötter. 26 Det var en grekisktalande kvinna av syrisk-fenicisk*7:26syrisk-feniciskFenicien motsvarade dagens Libanon, kustdelen av den romerska provinsen Syrien. härkomst. Hon bad att Jesus skulle driva ut den onda anden ur hennes dotter.

27 Jesus sade till henne: "Låt först*7:27förstEvangeliets välsignelser skulle först erbjudas barnen, dvs judarna (jfr Matt 15:24). Fenicien nåddes av evangeliet genom apostlarna några år senare (se Apg 11:19-20, 21:3-4). barnen få äta sig mätta. Det är inte rätt att ta brödet från barnen och kasta det åt hundarna." 28 Hon svarade honom: "Herre, även hundarna under bordet äter av barnens smulor." 29 Då sade han till henne: "För det svarets skull säger jag dig: Gå hem, den onda anden har lämnat din dotter." 30 Och hon gick hem och fann barnet liggande på sängen. Den onda anden var borta.

Jesus botar en dövstum

31 *Matt 15:29f. Därefter lämnade han trakten runt Tyrus och gick över Sidon och sedan genom Dekapolisområdet till Galileiska sjön. 32 Man kom till honom med en som var döv och knappt kunde tala och bad att han skulle lägga handen på honom.

33 Då tog han honom åt sidan, bort från folket. Han stoppade fingrarna i hans öron, spottade och rörde vid hans tunga. 34 Sedan såg han upp mot himlen, suckade och sade: "Effata!" – det betyder: Öppna dig! 35 Genast öppnades hans öron och hans tunga löstes, och han talade tydligt och klart.

36 *Mark 1:43f. Jesus förbjöd dem att tala om det för någon. Men ju mer han förbjöd dem, desto ivrigare berättade de. 37 *1 Mos 1:31. Och folk blev helt utom sig av häpnad och sade: "Allt han har gjort är gott*7:37Allt han har gjort är gottAnnan översättning: "Allt har han gjort väl".! Han får till och med de döva att höra och de stumma att tala."
