1 The lot of the sons of Joseph went from the Jordan, by Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goes up from Jericho through the mountains to Bethel,

2 and went out from Bethel to Luz, passed along to the border of the Archites at Ataroth,

3 and went down westward to the border of the Japhletites, as far as the border of Lower Beth Horon to Gezer; and it ended at the sea.

4 Thus the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took possession.

5 The border of the sons of Ephraim, according to their families: The border of their inheritance on the east side was Ataroth Addar as far as Upper Beth Horon.

6 And the border went out toward the sea on the north side of Michmethath; then the border went around eastward to Taanath Shiloh, and passed by it on the east to Janohah.

7 And it went down from Janohah to Ataroth and Naarah, reached to Jericho, and came out at the Jordan.

8 The border went out from Tappuah westward to the Brook Kanah, and it ended at the sea. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim according to their families.

9 And the separate cities of the sons of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.

10 And they did not drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwell in the midst of Ephraim to this day and are serving under tribute.

1 SAIU depois a sorte dos filhos de José, desde o Jordão de Jericó às águas de Jericó, para o oriente, subindo ao deserto de Jericó pelas montanhas de Betel; 2 E de Betel sai a Luza, e passa ao termo dos arqueus, até Atarote; 3 E desce da banda do ocidente ao termo de Jafleti, até ao termo de Betorom de baixo, e até Gazer, sendo as suas saídas para o mar. 4 Assim alcançaram a sua herança os filhos de José, Manassés e Efraim. 5 E foi o termo dos filhos de Efraim, segundo as suas famílias, a saber: o termo da sua herança para o oriente era Atarote-Adar até Betorom de cima: 6 E sai este termo para o ocidente junto a Micmetate, desde o norte, e torna este termo para o oriente a Taanate-Siló, e passa por ela desde o oriente a Janoa; 7 E desce desde Janoa a Atarote e a Naarate, e toca em Jericó, e vai sair ao Jordão. 8 De Tápua vai este termo para o ocidente ao ribeiro de Caná, e as suas saídas no mar: esta é a herança da tribo dos filhos de Efraim, segundo as suas famílias. 9 E as cidades que se separaram para os filhos de Efraim estavam no meio da herança dos filhos de Manassés: todas aquelas cidades e as suas aldeias. 10 E não expeliram aos cananeus que habitavam em Gazer: e os cananeus habitaram no meio dos efraimitas até ao dia de hoje; porém serviam-nos, sendo-lhes tributários.
