1 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tent of meeting there. And the land was subdued before them.

2 But there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes which had not yet received their inheritance.

3 And Joshua said to the children of Israel: How long will you be slack to go and possess the land which Jehovah the God of your fathers has given to you?

4 Provide from among you three men for each tribe, and I will send them; they shall rise up and go through the land, plot it out according to their inheritance, and come back to me.

5 And they shall divide it into seven parts. Judah shall remain in their territory on the south, and the house of Joseph shall remain in their territory on the north.

6 You shall therefore plot out the land into seven parts and bring the map here to me, and I shall cast lots for you here before Jehovah our God.

7 But the Levites have no portion among you, for the priesthood of Jehovah is their inheritance. And Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan to the east, which Moses the servant of Jehovah has given to them.

8 And the men arose to go away; and Joshua charged those who went to plot out the land, saying, Go, walk through the land, survey it, and come back to me, and I shall cast lots for you here before Jehovah at Shiloh.

9 So the men went, passed through the land, and plotted it out in a book into seven territories by cities; and they came to Joshua at the camp at Shiloh.

10 And Joshua cast lots for them at Shiloh before Jehovah, and there Joshua distributed the land to the sons of Israel according to their divisions.

11 And the lot of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin came up according to their families, and the territory of their lot came out between the sons of Judah and the sons of Joseph.

12 Their border on the north side began at the Jordan, and the border went up alongside Jericho on the north, and went up through the mountains westward; it ended at the wilderness of Beth Aven.

13 The border went over from there toward Luz, beside Luz (which is Bethel) southward; and the border descended to Ataroth Addar, near the hill that is on the south side of Lower Beth Horon.

14 And the border extended around the west side to the south, from the hill that lies before Beth Horon southward; and it ended at Kirjath Baal (which is Kirjath Jearim), a city of the sons of Judah. This was the west side.

15 The south side began at the end of Kirjath Jearim, and the border extended on the west and went out to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah.

16 And the border came down to the end of the mountain that is before the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is in the valley of the giants on the north, descended to the Valley of Hinnom, beside the city of the Jebusites on the south, and descended to En Rogel.

17 And it went around from the north, went out to En Shemesh, and extended toward Geliloth, before the ascent of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.

18 Then it passed along toward the north side of the plains, and went down to the plains.

19 And the border passed along to the north side of Beth Hoglah; and the border ended at the north bay at the Salt Sea, at the south end of the Jordan. This was the southern border.

20 The Jordan was its border on the east side. This was the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin, according to its borders all around, according to their families.

21 And the cities of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, according to their families, were Jericho, Beth Hoglah, the valley of Keziz,

22 Beth Arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel,

23 Avim, Parah, Ophrah,

24 Chephar Haammoni, Ophni, and Gaba: twelve cities with their villages;

25 Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth,

26 Mizpah, Chephirah, Mozah,

27 Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah,

28 Zelah, Eleph, Jebus (which is Jerusalem), Gibeath, and Kirjath: fourteen cities with their villages. This was the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin according to their families.

1 E TODA a congregação dos filhos de Israel se ajuntou em Silo, e ali armaram a tenda da congregação, depois que a terra foi sujeita diante deles. 2 E dentre os filhos de Israel ficaram sete tribos, que ainda não tinham repartido a sua herança. 3 E disse Josué aos filhos de Israel: Até quando sereis negligentes a passardes para possuir a terra que o Senhor Deus de vossos pais vos deu? 4 De cada tribo escolhei vós três homens, para que eu os envie, e se levantem, e corram a terra, e a descrevam segundo as suas heranças, e se tornem a mim. 5 E a repartirão em sete partes: Judá ficará no seu termo para o sul, e a casa de José ficará no seu termo para o norte. 6 E vós descrevereis a terra em sete partes, e ma trareis a mim aqui descrita: para que eu aqui lance as sortes perante o Senhor nosso Deus. 7 Porquanto os levitas não têm parte no meio de vós, porém o sacerdócio do Senhor é a sua parte: e Gade, e Rúben e a meia tribo de Manassés tomaram a sua herança dalém do Jordão para o oriente, a qual lhes deu Moisés, o servo do Senhor. 8 Então aqueles homens se levantaram, e se foram: e Josué deu ordem aos que iam descrever a terra, dizendo: Ide, e correi a terra, e descrevei-a, e então tornai a mim, e aqui vos lançarei as sortes perante o Senhor, em Silo. 9 Foram pois aqueles homens e passaram pela terra, e a descreveram, segundo as cidades, em sete partes, num livro: e voltaram a Josué, ao arraial em Silo. 10 Então Josué lhes lançou as sortes em Silo, perante o Senhor: e ali repartiu Josué a terra aos filhos de Israel, conforme às suas divisões.

11 E subiu a sorte da tribo dos filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias: e saiu o termo da sua sorte entre os filhos de Judá e os filhos de José. 12 E o seu termo foi para a banda do norte, desde o Jordão: e sobe este termo ao lado de Jericó para o norte, e sobe pela montanha para o ocidente, sendo as suas saídas no deserto de Bete-Áven. 13 E dali passa este termo a Luza, ao lado de Luza (que é Betel) para o sul: e desce este termo a Atarote-Adar, ao pé do monte que está da banda do sul de Beteorom de baixo. 14 E vai este termo e torna à banda do ocidente para o sul do monte que está defronte de Beteorom, para o sul, e as suas saídas vão para Quiriate-Baal (que é Quiriate-Jearim), cidade dos filhos de Judá: esta é a sua extensão para o ocidente. 15 E a sua extensão para o sul está à extremidade de Quiriate-Jearim: e sai este termo ao ocidente, e vem a sair à fonte das águas de Neftoa. 16 E desce este termo até à extremidade do monte que está defronte do vale do filho de Hinom, que está no vale dos refains, para o norte, e desce pelo vale de Hinom da banda dos jebuseus para o sul: e então desce à fonte de Rogel; 17 E vai desde o norte, e sai a Ensemes; e dali sai a Gelilote, que está defronte da subida de Adumim, e desce à pedra de Boã, filho de Rúben; 18 E passa até ao lado, defronte de Arabá para o norte, e desce a Arabá; 19 Passa mais este termo até ao lado de Bete-Hoglá para o norte, estando as saídas deste termo na língua do mar salgado para o norte, na extremidade do Jordão para o sul: este é o termo do sul. 20 E termina o Jordão da banda do oriente: esta é a herança dos filhos de Benjamim, nos seus termos em redor, segundo as suas famílias. 21 E as cidades da tribo dos filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias, são: Jericó, e Bete-Hoglá, e Emeque-Queziz, 22 E Bete-Arabá, e Semaraim, e Betel, 23 E Havim, e Pará e Ofra, 24 E Quefar-Haamonai, e Ofni, e Gaba: doze cidades e as suas aldeias: 25 Gibeom, e Ramá, e Beerote, 26 E Mizpá, e Quefira, e Moza, 27 E Requém, e Irpeel, e Tarala, 28 E Zelá, Elefe e Jebus (esta é Jerusalém), Gibeá e Quiriate: catorze cidades com as suas aldeias: esta é a herança dos filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias.
