1 Ouve, ó Deus, a minha voz na minha oração; guarda a minha vida do temor do inimigo.2 Esconde-me do secreto conselho dos maus, e do tumulto dos que praticam a iniquidade.3 Que afiaram as suas línguas como espadas; e armaram por suas flechas palavras amargas,4 A fim de atirarem em lugar oculto ao que é íntegro; disparam sobre ele repentinamente, e não temem.5 Firmam-se em mau intento; falam de armar laços secretamente, e dizem: Quem os verá?6 Andam inquirindo malícias, inquirem tudo o que se pode inquirir; e ambos, o íntimo pensamento de cada um deles, e o coração, são profundos.7 Mas Deus atirará sobre eles uma seta, e de repente ficarão feridos.8 Assim eles farão com que as suas línguas tropecem contra si mesmos; todos aqueles que os virem, fugirão.9 E todos os homens temerão, e anunciarão a obra de Deus; e considerarão prudentemente os feitos dele.10 O justo se alegrará no Senhor, e confiará nele, e todos os retos de coração se gloriarão.

1 Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint. Preserve my life from fear of the enemy.2 Hide me from the secret counsel of evil-doers, from the tumult of the workers of iniquity,3 who have whet their tongue like a sword, and have aimed their arrows, even bitter words,4 that they may shoot in secret places at a blameless man. Suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.5 They encourage themselves in an evil purpose. They converse of laying snares secretly. They say, Who will see them?6 They search out iniquities, [saying,] We have accomplished a diligent search. And the inward part of man and the heart [are] deep.7 But God will shoot at them. With an arrow they shall suddenly be wounded.8 So they shall be made to stumble, their own tongue being against them. All who see them shall wag the head.9 And all men shall fear. And they shall declare the work of God, and shall wisely consider of his doing.10 A righteous man shall be glad in LORD, and shall take refuge in him. And all the upright in heart shall glory.
