1 Jehovah, I have called upon thee; make haste unto me:

Give ear unto my voice, when I call unto thee.

2 Let my prayer be set forth as incense before thee;

The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

3 Set a watch, O Jehovah, before my mouth;

Keep the door of my lips.

4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing,

To practise deeds of wickedness

With men that work iniquity:

And let me not eat of their dainties.

5 Let the righteous smite me, it shall be a kindness;

And let him reprove me, it shall be as oil upon the head;

Let not my head refuse it:

For even in their wickedness shall my prayer continue.

6 Their judges are thrown down by the sides of the rock;

And they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.

7 As when one ploweth and cleaveth the earth,

Our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.

8 For mine eyes are unto thee, O Jehovah the Lord:

In thee do I take refuge; leave not my soul destitute.

9 Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me,

And from the gins of the workers of iniquity.

10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets,

Whilst that I withal escape.

1 Hỡi Đức Giê-hô-va, tôi đã cầu khẩn Ngài, xin mau mau đến cùng tôi. Khi tôi kêu cầu Ngài, xin hãy lắng tai nghe tiếng tôi.

2 Nguyện lời cầu nguyện tôi thấu đến trước mặt Chúa như hương, Nguyện sự giơ tay tôi lên được giống như của lễ buổi chiều!

3 Hỡi Đức Giê-hô-va, xin hãy giữ miệng tôi, Và canh cửa môi tôi.

4 Xin chớ để lòng tôi hướng về điều gì xấu xa, Đặng làm việc ác với kẻ làm ác; Nguyện tôi không ăn vật ngon của chúng nó.

5 Nguyện người công bình đánh tôi, ấy là ơn; Nguyện người sửa dạy tôi, ấy khác nào dầu trên đầu, Đầu tôi sẽ không từ chối. Vì dẫu trong khi chúng nó làm ác, tôi sẽ cứ cầu nguyện.

6 Các quan xét chúng nó bị ném xuống bên hòn đá; Họ sẽ nghe lời tôi, vì lời tôi êm dịu.

7 Hài cốt chúng tôi bị rải rác nơi cửa âm phủ, Khác nào khi người ta cày ruộng và tách đất ra.

8 Chúa Giê-hô-va ôi! mắt tôi ngưỡng vọng Chúa, Tôi nương náu mình nơi Chúa; Xin chớ lìa bỏ linh hồn tôi.

9 Cầu Chúa giữ tôi khỏi bẫy chúng nó đã gài tôi, Và khỏi vòng kẻ làm ác.

10 Nguyện kẻ ác bị sa vào chánh lưới nó, Còn tôi thì được thoát khỏi.
