Números 14 - Bíblia Online

E toda a congregação ergueu sua voz, e clamou, e o povo chorou naquela noite. 
E todos os filhos de Israel murmuraram contra Moisés e contra Arão; e toda a congregação lhes disse: Quisera Deus que tivéssemos morrido na terra do Egito, ou quisera Deus que tivéssemos morrido neste deserto. 
E por que o SENHOR nos trouxe a esta terra, para cairmos pela espada e para que nossas esposas e nossas crianças sejam uma presa? Não seria melhor voltarmos ao Egito? 
E eles disseram uns aos outros: Façamos um capitão e voltemos ao Egito. 
Então Moisés e Arão caíram sobre os seus rostos diante de toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel. 
E Josué, filho de Num, e Calebe, filho de Jefoné, que eram alguns dos que haviam examinado a terra, rasgaram as suas vestes. 
E falaram a toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel, e disseram: A terra pela qual passamos para examinar é uma terra muito boa. 
Se o SENHOR se agradar de nós, então nos levará a esta terra e no-la dará, uma terra que mana leite e mel. 
Somente não vos rebeleis contra o SENHOR, e não temais o povo da terra, porque eles são pão para nós; a sua defesa se retirou deles, e o SENHOR está conosco; não os temais. 
Mas toda a congregação disse que os apedrejassem, e a glória do SENHOR apareceu no tabernáculo da congregação, diante de todos os filhos de Israel. 
E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Até quando me provocará este povo? E até quando não crerão em mim, por todos os sinais que mostrei no meio deles? 
Eu os ferirei com pestilência, e os rejeitarei, e farei de ti uma nação maior e mais poderosa do que eles. 
E Moisés disse ao SENHOR: Então os egípcios o ouvirão (porque com a tua força, tiraste este povo do meio deles); 
e o dirão aos moradores desta terra, porque ouviram que tu, SENHOR, estás no meio deste povo, que tu SENHOR, és visto face a face, e que a tua nuvem está sobre eles, e que vais à frente deles, de dia em uma coluna de nuvem, e à noite em uma coluna de fogo. 
E se matares todo este povo como a um só homem, então as nações que ouviram a tua fama, falarão, dizendo: 
Porque o SENHOR não pode introduzir este povo na terra que lhes havia jurado; por isso, os matou no deserto. 
E agora suplico-te, que a força do meu SENHOR se engrandeça, conforme falaste, dizendo: 
O SENHOR é longânimo e de grande misericórdia, que perdoa a iniquidade e a transgressão, e, de maneira nenhuma, inocenta o culpado, e visita a iniquidade dos pais sobre os filhos, até a terceira e a quarta geração. 
Perdoa, suplico-te, a iniquidade deste povo, segundo a grandeza da tua misericórdia, como também perdoaste a este povo desde a terra do Egito até agora. 
E o SENHOR disse: Conforme a tua palavra, lhe perdoei. 
Mas, tão certamente como eu vivo, toda a terra se encherá da glória do SENHOR. 
Porque todos esses homens que viram a minha glória e os meus milagres, que fiz no Egito e no deserto, e me tentaram estas dez vezes, e não obedeceram à minha voz, 
certamente não verão a terra que jurei a seus pais, e nenhum dos que me provocaram a verá. 
Mas a meu servo Calebe, porque com ele havia outro espírito, e me seguiu plenamente, a ele levarei à terra em que entrou, e a sua semente a possuirá 
(Os amalequitas e os cananeus habitam no vale). Voltai amanhã, e entrai no deserto pelo caminho do mar Vermelho. 
Depois, o SENHOR falou a Moisés e a Arão, dizendo: 
Até quando tolerarei esta má congregação, que murmura contra mim? Ouvi as murmurações dos filhos de Israel, com que murmuram contra mim. 
Dirás a eles: Tão certamente como eu vivo, diz o SENHOR, como falastes aos meus ouvidos, assim farei a vós. 
Os vossos cadáveres cairão neste deserto, como também todos os que de vós foram contados segundo toda a vossa conta, com idade igual ou superior a vinte anos, que contra mim murmurastes; 
sem dúvida, não entrareis na terra na qual jurei que vos faria habitar, salvo Calebe, filho de Jefoné, e Josué, filho de Num. 
Mas os vossos pequenos, dos quais dissestes que seriam presa, a eles trarei na terra, e eles conhecerão a terra que vós desprezastes. 
Porém, quanto a vós, os vossos cadáveres cairão neste deserto. 
E vossos filhos peregrinarão neste deserto quarenta anos e levarão as vossas corrupções, até que os vossos cadáveres sejam consumidos no deserto. 
Segundo o número dos dias em que examinastes esta terra, quarenta dias, cada dia correspondendo a um ano, levareis as vossas iniquidades durante quarenta anos e conhecereis o meu rompimento da promessa. 
Eu, o SENHOR, falei. E certamente farei isto a toda esta má congregação, que se levantou contra mim neste deserto, serão consumidos e nele falecerão. 
E os homens que Moisés mandara examinar a terra, que voltaram e fizeram toda a congregação murmurar contra ele, infamando a terra, 
aqueles homens que trouxeram más informações sobre a terra, morreram de praga diante do SENHOR. 
Mas Josué, filho de Num, e Calebe, filho de Jefoné, que eram dois dos homens que foram examinar a terra, permaneceram com vida. 
E falou Moisés estas palavras a todos os filhos de Israel; e o povo lamentou muito. 
E levantaram-se pela manhã bem cedo, e subiram ao topo do monte, dizendo: Eis-nos aqui e subiremos ao lugar que o SENHOR prometeu, porque pecamos. 
E Moisés disse: Por que transgredis a ordem do SENHOR? Porém não prosperará. 
Não subais, porque o SENHOR não está no meio de vós, para que não sejais feridos diante dos vossos inimigos. 
Porque os amalequitas e os cananeus estão ali diante de vós, e caireis pela espada; porque como vos desviastes do SENHOR, o SENHOR não estará convosco. 
Contudo, ousaram subir ao topo do monte, mas a arca do pacto do SENHOR e Moisés não se afastaram do acampamento. 
Então, desceram os amalequitas e os cananeus, que habitavam na montanha, e os feriram, derrotando-os até Horma. 

And all the congregation lifted up their voice and cried. And the people wept that night. 
And all the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. And the whole congregation said to them, Oh that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or, Oh that we had died in the wilderness! 
And why has the LORD brought us into this land to fall by the sword, so that our wives and our sons should be a prey? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt? 
And they said to one another, Let us make a leader, and let us return to Egypt. 
And Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the sons of Israel. 
And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of those that searched the land, tore their clothes. 
And they spoke to all the company of the [sons] of Israel saying, The land which we passed through to search is an exceedingly good land. 
If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey. 
Only do not rebel against the LORD, neither fear the people of the land. For they [are] bread for us. Their protection has moved from them, and the LORD [is] with us. Do not fear them. 
But all the congregation said to stone them with stones. And the glory of Jehovah appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the sons of Israel. 
And Jehovah said to Moses, How long will this people provoke Me? And how long will it be before they believe Me, for all the signs which I have shown among them? 
I will strike them with the pestilence and will disinherit them, and will make of you a greater nation and mightier than they. 
And Moses said to Jehovah, Then the Egyptians will hear, for You have brought up this people in Your might from among them. 
And they will say to the inhabitant of this land. They have heard that You, LORD, [are] among this people, who is seen eye to eye. You [are] Jehovah, and Your cloud stands over them, and You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night. 
And will you kill this people as one man? Then the nations who have heard Your fame will speak, saying, 
Because Jehovah was not able to bring this people into the land which He swore to them, therefore He has slain them in the wilderness. 
And now, I beseech You, let the power of my Lord be great, according as You have spoken, saying, 
The LORD [is] long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing [the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth [generation]. 
I beseech You, pardon the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of Your mercy, and as You have forgiven this people from Egypt even until now. 
And Jehovah said, I have pardoned according to your word. 
But truly, [as] I live, all the earth shall be filled [with] the glory of the LORD. 
Because all those men who have seen My glory and My miracles which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted Me now these ten times, and have not listened to My voice, 
surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked Me see it. 
But My servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed Me fully, I will bring him into the land into which he went. And his seed shall possess it. 
(Now the Amalekites and the Canaanites lived in the valley.) Tomorrow turn and go into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea. 
And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 
How long [shall I bear with] this evil congregation, which murmurs against Me? I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel which they murmur against Me. 
Say to them, [As] I live, says the LORD, as you have spoken in My ears, so I will do to you. 
Your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness, and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, who have murmured against Me, 
you shall certainly not come into the land which I swore to make you live in, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun. 
But your little ones, which you said should be a prey, I will bring them in and they shall know the land which you have despised. 
But [as for] you, your bodies shall fall in this wilderness. 
And your sons shall feed in the wilderness forty years and bear your fornications, until your dead bodies have wasted in the wilderness. 
According to the number of the days in which you searched the land-- forty days-- each day for a year you shall bear your iniquities, forty years; and you shall know my alienation. 
I the LORD have spoken; I will surely do it to all this evil congregation who are gathered together against Me. They shall be destroyed in this wilderness, and there they shall die. 
And the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up an evil report upon the land, 
even those men that brought up the evil report upon the land died by the plague before the LORD. 
But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, of the men that went to spy out the land, lived. 
And Moses told these sayings to all the sons of Israel. And the people mourned greatly. 
And they rose up early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we are here, and will go up to the place which the LORD has promised, for we have sinned. 
And Moses said, Why do you now go beyond the command of the LORD, since it shall not be blessed? 
Do not go up, for the LORD [is] not among you. And shall you not be beaten before your enemies? 
For the Amalekites and the Canaanites [are] there before you, and you shall fall by the sword. Because you have turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you. 
But they presumed to go up to the hill top. But the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and Moses, did not leave the camp. 
And the Amalekites and the Canaanites who were living in that mountain came down and struck them, and beat them down, to Hormah.
