Dumnezeu este cunoscut în Iuda, mare este Numele Lui în Israel.2 Cortul Lui este în Salem, şi locuinţa Lui în Sion;3 acolo a sfărîmat El săgeţile, scutul, sabia, şi armele de război. -4 Tu eşti mai măreţ, mai puternic decît munţii răpitorilor.5 Despoiaţi au fost vitejii aceia plini de inimă, au adormit somnul de apoi; n'au putut să se apere, toţi acei oameni viteji.6 La mustrarea Ta, Dumnezeul lui Iacov, au adormit şi călăreţi şi cai.7 Cît de înfricoşat eşti Tu! Cine poate să-Ţi stea împotrivă, cînd Îţi izbucneşte mînia?8 Ai rostit hotărîrea dela înalţimea cerurilor; pămîntul s'a îngrozit şi a tăcut,9 cînd S'a ridicat Dumnezeu să facă dreptate, şi să scape pe toţi nenorociţii de pe pămînt. -10 Omul Te laudă chiar şi în mînia lui, cînd Te îmbraci cu toată urgia Ta.11 Faceţi juruinţe Domnului, Dumnezeului vostru, şi împliniţi-le! Toţi ceice -L înconjoară, să aducă daruri Dumnezeului celui înfricoşat.12 El frînge mîndria domnitorilor, El este înfricoşat pentru împăraţii pămîntului.
