46 And Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord,

47 and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saviour.

48 For he has looked upon the low estate of his bondmaid; for behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

49 For the Mighty One has done to me great things, and holy {is} his name;

50 and his mercy {is} to generations and generations to them that fear him.

51 He has wrought strength with his arm; he has scattered haughty {ones} in the thought of their heart.

52 He has put down rulers from thrones, and exalted the lowly.

53 He has filled the hungry with good things, and sent away the rich empty.

54 He has helped Israel his servant, in order to remember mercy,

55 (as he spoke to our fathers,) to Abraham and to his seed for ever.

46 Şi Maria a zis: ,,Sufletul meu măreşte pe Domnul,

47 şi mi se bucură duhul în Dumnezeu, Mîntuitorul meu,

48 pentrucă a privit spre starea smerită a roabei Sale. Căci iată că deacum încolo, toate neamurile îmi vor zice fericită,

49 pentrucă Cel Atot Puternic a făcut lucruri mari pentru mine. Numele Lui este sfînt,

50 şi îndurarea Lui se întinde din neam în neam peste cei ce se tem de El.

51 El a arătat putere cu braţul Lui; a risipit gîndurile, pe cari le aveau cei mîndri în inima lor.

52 A răsturnat pe cei puternici de pe scaunele lor de domnie, şi a înălţat pe cei smeriţi.

53 Pe cei flămînzi i -a săturat de bunătăţi, şi pe cei bogaţi i -a scos afară cu mînile goale.

54 A venit în ajutorul robului său Israel, căci Şi -a adus aminte de îndurarea Sa, -

55 cum făgăduise părinţilor noştri, -faţă de Avraam şi sămînţa lui în veac.
