1 [A Prayer of David.] Incline thine ear, Jehovah, answer me; for I am afflicted and needy.2 Keep my soul, for I am godly; O thou my God, save thy servant who confideth in thee.3 Be gracious unto me, O Lord; for unto thee do I call all the day.4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant; for unto thee, Lord, do I lift up my soul.5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, and art of great loving-kindness unto all that call upon thee.6 Give ear, O Jehovah, unto my prayer, and attend to the voice of my supplications.7 In the day of my distress I will call upon thee, for thou wilt answer me.8 Among the gods there is none like unto thee, Lord, and there is nothing like unto thy works.9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord, and shall glorify thy name.10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God, thou alone.11 Teach me thy way, Jehovah; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart; and I will glorify thy name for evermore.13 For great is thy loving-kindness toward me, and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assembly of the violent seek after my soul, and they have not set thee before them.15 But thou, Lord, art a *God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in goodness and truth.16 Turn toward me, and be gracious unto me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.17 Shew me a token for good, that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed; for thou, Jehovah, hast helped me and comforted me.

1 Inclina, Jeová, os teus ouvidos, e responde-me; Porque eu sou aflito e necessitado.2 Preserva a minha alma, pois sou piedoso; Tu, Deus meu, salva ao teu servo que em ti confia.3 Compadece-te de mim, Senhor; Pois a ti clamo de contínuo.4 Alegra a alma do teu servo, Porque a ti, Senhor, elevo a minha alma.5 Porquanto tu, Senhor, és bom e pronto em perdoar, E abundante em benignidade para com todos os que te invocam.6 Escuta, Jeová, a minha oração, Atende à voz das minhas súplicas.7 No dia da minha angústia a ti clamarei, Porque me responderás.8 Não há entre os deuses quem seja semelhante a ti, Senhor; Nem há obras como as tuas.9 Todas as nações que fizeste, virão, diante de ti, Senhor, se prostrarão; E glorificarão o teu nome.10 Pois tu és grande, e fazes maravilhas; Só tu és Deus.11 Ensina-me, Jeová, o teu caminho; Andarei na tua verdade: Dispõe o meu coração para só temer o teu nome.12 Dar-te-ei graças, Senhor, Deus meu, de todo o meu coração, E glorificarei o teu nome para sempre.13 Pois grande é a tua benignidade para comigo; E livraste a minha alma do mais profundo Cheol.14 Ó Deus, os soberbos têm-se levantado contra mim, O ajuntamento de homens violentos tem procurado tirar-me a vida, E não te tem posto diante dos seus olhos.15 Mas tu, Senhor, és um Deus compassivo e benigno, Tardio em irar-te e abundante em graça e verdade.16 Volta-te para mim, e compadece-te de mim; Dá ao teu servo a tua força, E salva o filho da tua serva.17 Dá-me algum sinal do teu favor, Para que o vejam, e sejam envergonhados os que me odeiam, Porque tu, Jeová, me tens ajudado e consolado.
