1 Hallelujah! Praise Jehovah, O my soul.2 As long as I live will I praise Jehovah; I will sing psalms unto my God while I have my being.3 Put not confidence in nobles, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his purposes perish.5 Blessed is he who hath the *God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Jehovah his God,6 Who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is therein; who keepeth truth for ever;7 Who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth bread to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners;8 Jehovah openeth {the eyes of} the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous;9 Jehovah preserveth the strangers; he lifteth up the fatherless and the widow; but the way of the wicked doth he subvert.10 Jehovah will reign for ever, {even} thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. 1 Aleluia. Louva, ó minha alma, o Senhor!2 Louvarei o Senhor por toda a vida. Salmodiarei ao meu Deus enquanto existir.3 Não coloqueis nos poderosos a vossa confiança, são apenas homens nos quais não há salvação.4 Quando se lhe for o espírito, ele voltará ao pó, e todos os seus projetos se desvanecerão de uma só vez.5 Feliz aquele que tem por protetor o Deus de Jacó, que põe sua esperança no Senhor, seu Deus.6 É esse o Deus que fez o céu e a terra, o mar e tudo o que eles contêm; que é eternamente fiel à sua palavra,7 que faz justiça aos oprimidos, e dá pão aos que têm fome. O Senhor livra os cativos;8 o Senhor abre os olhos aos cegos; o Senhor ergue os abatidos; o Senhor ama os justos.9 O Senhor protege os peregrinos, ampara o órfão e a viúva; mas entrava os desígnios dos pecadores.10 O Senhor reinará eternamente; ó Sião, teu Deus é rei por toda a eternidade.
