1 For every high priest taken from amongst men is established for men in things relating to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins; 2 being able to exercise forbearance towards the ignorant and erring, since he himself also is clothed with infirmity; 3 and, on account of this infirmity, he ought, even as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. 4 And no one takes the honour to himself but as called by God, even as Aaron also. 5 Thus the Christ also has not glorified himself to be made a high priest; but he who had said to him, Thou art my Son, I have to-day begotten thee. 6 Even as also in another place he says, Thouart a priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedec. 7 Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up both supplications and entreaties to him who was able to save him out of death, with strong crying and tears; (and having been heard because of his piety;) 8 though he were Son, he learned obedience from the things which he suffered; 9 and having been perfected, became to all them that obey him, author of eternal salvation;

10 addressed by God as high priest according to the order of Melchisedec. 11 Concerning whom we have much to say, and hard to be interpreted in speaking of it, since ye are become dull in hearing. 12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have again need that one should teach you what are the elements of the beginning of the oracles of God, and are become such as have need of milk, and not of solid food. 13 For every one that partakes of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe; 14 but solid food belongs to full-grown men, who, on account of habit, have their senses exercised for distinguishing both good and evil.

Cap. 7:17,21. ești preot în veac, după rânduiala lui Melhisedec." 7 El este Acela care, în zilele vieții Sale pământești, aducând*Mat. 26:39,42,44.Marcu 14:36,39.Ioan 17:1. rugăciuni și cereri cu*Ps. 22:1.Mat. 27:46,50.Marcu 15:34,37. strigăte mari și cu lacrimi către Cel ce*Mat. 26:53.Marcu 14:36. putea să-L izbăvească de la*Mat. 26:37.Marcu 14:33.Luca 22:43.Ioan 12:27. moarte și fiind ascultat din pricina evlaviei Lui, 8 măcar*Cap. 3:6. că era Fiu, a învățat să asculte*Filip. 2:8. prin lucrurile pe care le-a suferit. 9 Și, după ce a fost făcut desăvârșit*Cap. 2:10;11:40., S-a făcut pentru toți cei ce-L ascultă urzitorul unei mântuiri veșnice, 10 căci a fost numit de Dumnezeu Mare Preot „după*Vers. 6. Cap. 6:20. rânduiala lui Melhisedec". 11 Asupra celor de mai sus, avem multe*Ioan 16:12.2 Pet. 3:16. de zis și lucruri grele de tâlcuit, fiindcă v-ați făcut greoi*Mat. 13:15. la pricepere. 12 În adevăr, voi, care de mult trebuia să fiți învățători, aveți iarăși trebuință de cineva să vă învețe cele*Cap. 6:1. dintâi adevăruri ale cuvintelor lui Dumnezeu și ați ajuns să aveți nevoie de lapte*1 Cor. 3:1-3., nu de hrană tare. 13 Și oricine nu se hrănește decât cu lapte nu este obișnuit cu cuvântul despre neprihănire, căci este un prunc*1 Cor. 13:11;14:20.Efes. 4:14.1 Pet. 2:2.. 14 Dar hrana tare este pentru oamenii mari, pentru aceia a căror judecată s-a deprins, prin întrebuințare, să deosebească*Is. 7:15.1 Cor. 2:14,15. binele și răul.
