1 The word of Jehovah that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.

2 The beginning of the word of Jehovah through Hosea. And Jehovah said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms, and children of whoredoms; for the land is entirely given up to whoredom, away from Jehovah. 3 And he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived and bore him a son. 4 And Jehovah said unto him, Call his name Jizreel; for yet a little, and I will visit the blood of Jizreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease. 5 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jizreel. 6 And she conceived again, and bore a daughter. And he said unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel, so that I should pardon them. 7 But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by Jehovah their God*GodHebrew: Elohim and I will not save them by bow, or by sword, or by battle, or by horses, or by horsemen.

8 And she weaned Lo-ruhamah; and she conceived and bore a son; 9 and he said, Call his name Lo-ammi; for ye are not my people, and I will not be for you. 10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea which cannot be measured or numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, it shall be said unto them, Sons of the living ·God*GodHebrew: El11 And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint themselves one head, and shall go up out of the land: for great is the day of Jizreel.

1 Cuvântul Domnului, spus lui Osea, fiul lui Beeri, pe vremea lui Ozia, Iotam, Ahaz, Ezechia, împărații lui Iuda, și pe vremea lui Ieroboam, fiul lui Ioas, împăratul lui Israel. 2 Întâia dată când a vorbit Domnul către Osea, Domnul a zis lui Osea: „Du-te*Cap. 3:1. și ia-ți o nevastă curvă și copii din curvie, căci țara*Deut. 31:16.Ps. 73:27.Ier. 2:13.Ezec. 23:3. a săvârșit o mare curvie, părăsind pe Domnul!" 3 El s-a dus și a luat pe Gomera, fiica lui Diblaim. Ea a zămislit și i-a născut un fiu. 4 Și Domnul i-a zis: „Pune-i numele Izreel, căci, peste puțină vreme, voi pedepsi*2 Împ. 10:11. casa lui Iehu pentru sângele vărsat la Izreel și voi pune capăt*2 Împ. 15:10,12. domniei lui peste casa lui Israel. 5 În ziua aceea*2 Împ. 15:29., voi sfărâma arcul lui Israel în valea Izreel." 6 Ea a zămislit din nou și a născut o fată. Și Domnul a zis lui Osea: „Pune-i numele Lo-Ruhama (Cea fără îndurare); căci*2 Împ. 17:6,23. nu voi mai avea milă de casa lui Israel, n-o voi mai ierta! 7 Dar voi avea milă*2 Împ. 19:35. de casa lui Iuda și-i voi izbăvi prin Domnul Dumnezeul lor, dar nu-i voi izbăvi*Zah. 4:6;9:10. nici prin arc, nici prin sabie, nici prin lupte, nici prin cai, nici prin călăreți." 8 Ea a înțărcat pe Lo-Ruhama, apoi iar a zămislit și a născut un fiu. 9 Și Domnul a zis: „Pune-i numele Lo-Ami (Nu-i poporul meu), căci voi nu sunteți poporul Meu și Eu nu voi fi Dumnezeul vostru. 10 Totuși numărul*Gen. 32:12.Rom. 9:27,28. copiilor lui Israel va fi ca nisipul mării, care nu se poate nici măsura, nici număra, și de unde*Rom. 9:25,26.1 Pet. 2:10. li se zicea: ‘Nu*Cap. 2:23. sunteți poporul Meu’, li se va zice: ‘Copiii*Ioan 1:12;3:1. Dumnezeului celui viu!’ 11 Atunci*Is. 11:12,13.Ier. 3:18.Ezec. 34:23;37:16-24., copiii lui Iuda și copiii lui Israel se vor strânge la un loc, își vor pune o singură căpetenie și vor ieși din țară, căci mare va fi ziua lui Izreel.
